He's incredibly impatient in general. Sometimes it's hard to be a fan of his. Almost everyone that doesn't blindly believe this guy agrees with you. Says a lot he hasn't revisited this given most of his viewers disagree with his take on it
Gotta disagree with you though the idea that the enemy won't attack through the red zone. They do all the time. The only thing you know in advance is that they won't have an MSP in that red zone. They can have rallies though and most likely will. So it doesn't really limit an attackers ability to choose where they attack from.
Plus, he was directly on the point too. You can place rallies just outside of cap zones as long as you don't see the point name on the screen. Guess he didn't know at the time.
I literally only attack through the red zone when I'm squad leader. I will ALWAYS take the longer, sneakier route through the red zone. People like Nikoli don't expect it though ;)
>"They wanted to have a game they enjoy playing and don't even play the game" >"Here we are checking it out after 2 years" >Tries to drop rally in the middle of the objective >"The most hated feature is mobile spawn points" ??????? makes literally 0 sense, if anything your real complaint should be the size of the red zone, you can't build a FOB in the red zone just like you can't place the MSP in it....
He's just salty and incompetent. What kind of clown would put down a rally on the BRIDGE, in plain sight of everybody, when he has a perfectly defensible point just 200 meters south?
What an unnecessary flak to a dead game. We're all glad that PS is receiving some love and care. It's the first time I hear someone complaining about MSPs. I don't remember anyone in my clan or other clans complaining about this feature. I don't get it.
Nikolai, the game takes practice and you need to learn the rules. You need good squad leaders and players with experience. Stop playing Squad all day and start playing PS.
nOOoO how dare there is a game that is not identhical to squad??? Next time I play Forza there's better be guns and HABs, or I'll say the game is lame on my yt channel
Yeah I think we got the message that you don’t like MSPs 😄 Have to mostly disagree though - in Squad you build habs, in PS the engineers can build FOBs that are just the same, plus you get MSPs as well, which are just like driving a logi in Squad to build a hab, though they’re too easily destroyed tbh whereas habs take more damage. rally points have been in the game for 3 years now at least where there’s a 6min timer on them which the radioman or the Squad leader has to refresh. The radioman can do it remotely. Removing the timer is a good idea probably, but besides that it’s pretty similar to Squad.
As someone who SLs frequently, I like the timer as it forces me to think of our movement paths, and even the decisions to reset it/move it when the fighting is too close need to be planned in advance to ensure you arent stuck waiting on a timer.
Not everything is going to be squad bro. You need to try different things. Meta is a dumb thing to bring up and game companies should stay away from it. I don’t want every game to be a skin of another
C'mon ! Red zones for MSP's have always been a thing in PS. That's why section leaders have to be creative and make Rallies. Logi teams make FOB's and hunt for MSP's. That's part of what makes the game fluid and less predicatable. A good Logi team can ruin an attacking teams plan and when on attack, they make it possible to steam roll the opposition. Msp's are the lazy mans fallback but are fun to find and blow up.
This isn't Squad and complaining that this game isn't like squad is kind of pointless. Post scriptum plays so differently and without MSPs sometimes your team won't even get out of base. You need very good commander and squad leaders probably more than squad.
I could swear there are FOBs too aside from MSPs and rallies. I have a very vivid memory of blowing one up on one of the early war maps. Then again I also didnt play very early PS so Im not sure if it was different early on in the games life
Here is the thing - PS is not just a squad re skin, and we the community like the game mechanics and its differences. PS does need some work in places but not much and i dont think the MSP's are bad at all, as others have pointed out its a bonus on top of fob's and rallies so its not limiting compaired to Squad. As before Ps is a different game with a seperate logistics section so you have to take this into account too when doing a deep dive into the spawn mechanics, its not a straight comparison to Squad. ( i know you are not new to Ps ) A shame if you consider the game " unplayable " you make good content dude, but if you want a straight WW2 squad re skin then maybe its not for you. The level of coordinatinon you mentioned is right , but both games suffer when this falls- How many squad invasion /raas games have you seen where its only attack habs ( as in forward of defend points ) playing as defenders or raas defend points, everyone still spawns at the attack hab just because they want to have action whilst the enemy team just cap the rest of the points ....
I love your videos Nikolai and it is good to see you playing Post Scriptum. Yes the MSPs cant be placed in that known arc, but I think they are a useful tool. You place them them, then spawn on them then push forward a bit and create a squad spawn point nearer the objective. What alternatives to other games provide? Yes you need effective co-ordination within a squad to do well in the game, and having squads communicate and attack from diff directions is vital. I have been playing this game since it was out and no other game gives me the same team-spirit as this one does. It is great to see it supported again. See you on the battlefield!
i can understand why nobody gone for eastern attack in doorwerth cuz people are lazy they dont wanna place other msp redzone thick side or wait for fobs that logi will build and ran towards point or use vehicles that they can obtain from main and vehicle tents so they can place their rallies to eastern side and with their spawn point they can mess with enmy logis and their spawn points. Msps or red zone doesnt create any problem people and lack of strategy or communication do.
You are 100% WRONG about logi. I'm sorry but you havent been playing the game in the last 2 years clearly. Every Logistics SL is great at reinforcing and placing habs. You know how I know?..because in the last year logistics in the ENTIRE game has been me and about 10 other people I can name by gamertag lol. If people are having pronblems with logi recently it;'s because they are coming back and relearning how to play it. We will have to give the less experienced ones time
I never left the game. I presume you are an ecr member and btw attackers doesn't fortify attack fobs so they dont get found bu enemy logi HE or pionier/sapper easily.
@@nffctrickett Logistics for the past year hasnt been you and 10 other guys :D you just delusional if you really think that and please do elaborate on the tags of those 10 other guys because I for once have never seen a guy named nffctricket doing logi.
That point at @12:00 onwards, that "Nobody would use this side of the map" - tell me you've not played Doorwerth in three years without actually telling me.
PS is a great game but with some graphical and interface bugs (no game is perfect). On the other hand, they have made it possible to have strategically relevant maps, locations and points while still making the game feel fun and dynamic and not slow like other games such as SQUAD or other "realistic" games (ARMA + mods). On this map "DRIEL" and layout you played, the German (attacking) side typically have to capture five to six points. If their only option was to cross the bridge(s) or develop FOBs/HABS like in Squad, the game would be extremely difficult for the German side and make the game boring and slow because you could easily defend the bridge and never have to defend or explore the other points. The MSPs give great dynamism to the game, they allow the attackers to more easily change attack direction, flip strategy and react more quickly to what is going on, it also allows the Polish/British regiment (Polish regiments were also partially supplied in equipment by the British btw) defending the bridge, which is a very far from the Polish spawn point, to try to bring in reinforcements as quickly as possible via supplies, FOBs/HABs or MSPs. While the game is punishing and you can die very quickly, you can also spawn more easily and quickly thanks to squad leader radios, mobile spawn points, FOBS and fixed spawn points. Overall, it makes the game more dynamic and fun. And if it doesn't fit your game style, there are plenty of other great games and mods out there for slower pace and methodical action but it does not make PS "unplayable" - just different to what you've experienced in other games.
The core mechanics of the game are very fun like the weapons, ballistics systems, tanks, but I agree that some ways of how spawn points work and where you can attack from on a map can be a nightmare. Have always had high hopes for it and am counting on this game becoming even greater
I started watching your videos here in this game. Now your XP in FPS games is Huge. P.S. has issues I get that but for a long time watcher it is good to watch you play this game. The Old You was always full of laughter and joy. Good Fun Times. Thanks.
@@FriendlyNikolai Nikoali don't feel bad for saying your opinion on the game, this is how developers know what they need to change. If people disagree with you that's their opinion (I personally agree with what you say about the game) Please don't think that just because people are disagreeing that you are wrong.
@@jakob7693 He is pretty wrong on a lot of things. FOBs exist for a reason: Strategic points of interests that need defending, for example, just like Squad. Slap a fob on there and you are gucci. MSPs allow for faster paced gameplay, keeping the enemy on their toes, quickly repositioning an MSP can be game deciding. Idk, this video feelsl ike "Post Scriptum isn't like Squad but I like Squad so Post Scriptum needs to be more like Squad for me to enjoy Post Scriptum"
One minute in and I already disagree with you, the mobile spawn points allow for flanking attacks. They have the same thing in HLL. This game isn't gonna be exactly like Squad but WW2, it is it's own separate game so don't compare it with Squad.
I bought it back in 2021 and returned it because HLL was booming at the time, however with that game going downhill I think OWI have made a great move acquiring the IP - hopefully they can fix it up and get it to where Squad has been over the last 12 months or so - I tried playing the other night but the optimisation etc is still terrible. Not that OWI has a great rep for that stuff but they've at least fixed a lot of issues with Squad. I have faith. Plus it was £4.99 on cdkeys, so can't argue with that pricing.
So you are admitting you are a sheep and don't actually just play a game because you like it? You just follow the crowd and plqyq a game because it's popular?
@@nffctrickett what an incredibly weak straw man. At the time, PS had 1 or 2 servers that were full, at the most. So it was restrictive on times of access. When you did get in, it was buggy, laggy and an unenjoyable experience. However HLL was constantly populated in servers across various different time zones, had received performance and content updates and was a very fun game to play, so that made the decision easy on which one to stick. Play a bad game to feel virtuous in the RU-vid comment section or play a fun game because I value the limited time I get to spend gaming as an adult? It’s was a decision as simple as your comment.
I've been having a shit ton of fun playing this game recently. 2,000hr+ squad player. Nikolai, it kinda sounds like you are just shitting on the devs because they didn't listen to you about mobile spawn points. i don't see the problem with them. logistics win wars. this is why you need a good logistics squad to have a healthy fighting chance.
The game is best when the entire squad is communicating, those games where you don't see any enemy alive but somehow get 15 kills from suppressing distant targets on command
Yea and idc it’s way better than HLL. also I really want to play Beyond The Wire so let’s do some bout that guys so we can have squad ww2 and ww1 popping, literally so much potential.
FriendlyNikolai is the reason why i was buying Post Scriptum over 2,5 years ago because of his nice videos. And now i have 1700h+ on Post Scriptum. Its so nice to see that the servers are full again. :) EDIT: And thanks you did this video, maybe some new players will come because of that.
What's your gamertag? I bet we know eachother haha That's the only thing that has been good when weve had like 1 server for the past 6 months, I knew mots of the player base of the whole game by name XD
@@nffctrickett Hm i answered you yesterday but the answer is not here. :/ Hey man. :) My name in PS is Mr.Sneaky and what is your name in the game? But i didnt play tree month because i sold my high end PC to get a E-Bike tree month ago. But tomorrow i will get a new PC (not high end). And i know 50%+ of my gaming time will be on Post Scriptum. :D
I don't expect new players from him because all he does is complain... Not even valid complaints, really. His squad leading is atrocious and then he blames the MSP's for it not working.
@@revanofkorriban1505 Yes, I know. Unfortunately, he was in a bad mood. No smile on his face. ^^ When he has Fun he always do a good thing for a game. :)
Of course you don't like it, there is no red dots, no fullauto for everyone, no picatinny rails and none of that tacticool bullsh*t and toxic community that Squad has, where you get kicked from a squad and then TKed for simply mistaking a gun's caliber. A "Squad meta" is the last thing this game needs, and we all know you would not play it even if your claims came to be true anyway
Honestly I do not think PS is "REVIVED" as youtubers sais in their videos... not yet at least. Before downloading the game I will wait for OWI to release the first patches so I can see what changes they are making and where the game will go. I really hope it becomes like Squad at some point. After all the original Squad name was "Project Reality 2" which leads to Project Reality mod for BF2 and it was ahead of it's time, not to mention that the mod had 3 war scenario in it (modern conflict, vietnam and ww2). When they announced Squad, i've bought the game when it was in Alpha Stage yet and hoped for a single game with all the different scenarios just like in Project Reality, maybe with the war scenarios as DLCs rather than diffent games. Today we have two different games and I hope they become at least very similar. At the moment the only thing I like about PS is the ww2 and the "armoured vehicle overhaul", they should make the same in squad armors aswell tho and PS just like Squad.
The notion that rallies should be allowed on-point is laughable. It's hard enough for the attackers as is. On that map you're defending one of the strongest positions in the game. If you lose it, it's on you, not the devs. We can already start with that frankly idiotic push across the bridge... Ahem... You do realize that they're just crossing the pontoons? And you can see them a mile away from the point? You're just sending your men away from the objective and then get surprised when you get whooped from behind. You threw an easy win. Don't blame the devs.
Your long time away from playing this game is really showing in this video. I genuinely don't get why you would get on the game for the first time in year and then not only squad lead but also complain about some of the most important game mechanics like you've been playing the game consistently for the last year and know how it plays. Like even down to small things that made no sense like setting your rally in the middle of the bridge or using attack markers to try and mark stuff for the team. Only your squad can see the green attack marks so you let that entire enemy squad flank across the southern pontoon bridge without anyone knowing about it. Even that "msp" you were shooting, it was just a plain transport. PS is not Squad and never should be. If you want the new owners just to turn it into Squad with a new skin pack you should just stick to Squad. Changing everything in the game to be like Squad will kill the game because it will drive away the fanbase that has kept it alive for years.
cool atmosphere because of the world war 2 feel and maps, but the game is just a meat grinder, its all about mobile spawn points and flooding tiny cap points, plus it still has tons of bugs and glitches and doesn't play smoothly, hopefully they can smooth it out but knowing squad it might be a long time
The crazy thing about the rally point is that the timer is meaningless, you just have to keep clicking it every couple minutes. It just has a timer to be tedious for no reason I think the worst thing about the game though is just the time it takes to cap is super quick and it's very easy to have a cap taken out from under you unless you sit everyone exactly on the cap point the entire time.
If you sit on the point you'll get artied and capped. That's why the cap is so quick. You need to constantly harass the enemy and counterattack, with at most one squad in the objective
Anybody wondering why some tactical shooter and milsim YTers are either ignoring this game's revival or are now trashing it, you should know it's because they had a deal with Black Matter to suppress PS and promote only HLL. Some are saying they got a payout after the Team17 sale, and some say the YTers got screwed along with the HLL player base. Most of the YTers have now gone radio silent on both games.
The Only way they can revived this game by if they announced with more new stuffs and mods with an limited time offer that player can download it for free.
I understand your perspective on fixing bugs first, but revitalizing the community is crucial. Engaging players regularly and maintaining open communication with the development team can actually aid in identifying and solving those glitches effectively. It's about striking a balance between bug fixes and community engagement for a smoother gaming experience overall. @@mikusekyo007
I really miss your PS videos. Too bad you've grown to dislike the game so much. Hope you come around and can see the game for what it is, instead of comparing it to Squad which is a different game with different mechanics.
Agree with your points entirely. I really want to like it and love the variety of vehicles and things like the parachute drops but having building interiors completely bare and the open scenery looks like a tabletop wargaming mat that someone's randomly dropped some near identical bushes just trashes the immersion for me... if I can find a populated server to get in to anyway. Great that it's undergoing a revival but it may not do them any favours that Hell Let Loose has got it's act back together with the latest updates
That sounds rascist :D The Netherlands just look like this. Its better to have alot of buildings empty but usable, then a few nice buildings you could enter but get stuck in roads cause you cant flank
It doesnt ps is full on ironsights. Squad has optics which ico makes sense. Not ps. If you actually have played the game it has as brutal gun mechanics on the get go.
adding that incentives players just to play for unlocking stuff and doing challenges. It will cause less people to care about team play and make it a worse experience.
