ABSOLUTELY. From a Iowa born and raised with this music. Mother put me to bed at night with this style of music. Still have flash backs. The clothes, cars, and feel of the days long gone
Very nice ! I played this long tune real loud on a packed Denver city bus once in the the early eighties, the driver kept turning back and screaming to turn it down, but he couldn't tell who had the radio so I just kept turning around with everyone else to see where it was coming from. I let it roll all the way to the end then shut it off, it was like ten minutes, lol. No-one else complained, just the driver
Thanks for this show and tribute and upload. 45 years I've been listening to Tommy and never will ever get tired of listening to his genius. Clapton yawn, Page clumsy, etc. BUT#1 Tommy, Jimi, Jeff Beck, Dickey Betts, David Gilmour are timeless souls. They just don't play scales and notes.
I tend to agree, but disagree with your take on Clapton. Derek & The Dominos “Live At The Fillmore” is an incredible album. Love live Tommy Bolin though.
You Left Out One , The One & Only RORY GALLAGHER 🎸 But Yes Tommy Was Special In His Own Right . God Damn The Pusher Man ! Kids Stay Away From The Speed Balls . RIP Tommy & Rory
I love Tommy Bolin..but friend.. according to Almighty God...Tommy is In the worst place imaginable...hell 🔥. I know... but he would tell you to fly..run.. to Jesus!!!!!!!
Very nice! Thankyou for posting! I had 'Standing in the Rain' running in my head for a week b4 I went on RU-vid, and what do you know? There it was! I think about how young he was---so much talent gone. Thank God he played as much as he did, & left us some gripping music. It's like it takes you by the shoulders, and shakes you, until you HAVE to feel the intensity! I had a chance to see him @ MileHi stadium, it was summer '76. It was awful- he was so wasted, a man brought him to the mike, and he hung onto it just to stand, for a very short set. As a person in recovery, I look back upon those days with gratitude that more of us didn't die. Rest in Peace, Tommy. You gave to the world your best✨🎶💫🏞
"Cocaine" is a song written and recorded in 1976 by singer-songwriter J. J. Cale "Post Toastee" is a song written and recorder in 1976 by Tommy Bolin ... at Cherokee recording studio in LA and released by Columbia records. Which one was the first?
JJ Cale’s version of cocaine came out in 76 but sounded nothing like post toastee. Eric Claptons cocaine came out in b he 77 a year later. So Tommy was first.

Bolin was one of the better guitarist not only of his time but of all of rock. He deserves more recognition! For me, the best James Gang album is Miami. No Walsh, all Bolin! Another lefty that went way too soon!
@@NC5B I am 64 and just realizing what a genius Bolin was. Thank you for crediting this guitarist. Can you please reply with the name of this tribute band? There is nothing, sadly in the credits above. Did deep dive into Stratus. WOW!
@@wldchld7 FYI, all that is displayed is....Preformed (I assume you mean "performed", but apparently, I'm the one who can't read) at the Bluebird cafe in Denver..... then Show less. I'm backed up by the comments on this channel; then again READING is required.

@@ColonelSpankysLostBattalion Sorry. I'm almost 70 and saw a lot of concerts back in the day. The years of what happened when can get a little fuzzy. Had to be 76. I remember the place I was living when I saw him. I lived there from 12/74 till 6/78 so it was sometime in that frame.
@@ColonelSpankysLostBattalion Oh, add in the shit load of partying we did back in the day to that "years get a little fuzzy' statement. Take care and God Bless
@@ColonelSpankysLostBattalion Too many bong hits and too long ago. I lose some of the dates. Saw him live (must have been 76, ya, come to think of it I waet with my roommate at the time, and I lived with that dude from 12/74 till 6/77) so it was during that time. He was playing with Deep Purple.
