More and more postal workers have been targeted in crimes - robbed at gunpoint, pistol whipped, and even shot. CBS 2's Tara Molina reports.

Set a few examples, prosecute to the fullest and maybe you'll see some changes. Oh yeah, where are Sharpton, the governor, mayor etc. ? No votes or money in it I see. Now if someone defends themselves and hurts a criminal, well they will all come running.

I've asked myself the same question. Haven't seen them as a discernible presence in 30 years. Meanwhile some post offices have become homeless hotels and hangouts for dopers, thugs, and beggars. Maybe the USPS Police were converted into social workers, community activists, and violence interrupters at some point.

Armed guards need to escort the postal workers. Otherwise, suspend service and residents will have to pick up their mail at the post office. Seniors, disabled persons may need to get their mail delivered.

Been having that problem for almost a year. I called and made a complaint, and the lady told us to put our names on the box. Put our names on the box, still wrong/ missing mail. I called again and a lady with a piss poor, defensive attitude said the mail carrier didn't see the names, and basically accused me of lying. I had to call the main office and go above them. Things have been okay for the past few months but I'm still worried it will happen again

That’s incorrect. The US Postal Inspection Service is a federal agency and any postal crime regardless where it occurs it’s a Federal crime meaning the Safe-T act does not affect the way the feds prosecute these crimes.

Heartfelt prayers for these devoted and brave postal workers. I would totally understand and support their decision if they chose to go on strike! Used to be a time when the biggest problem would be an occasional vicious attack from a dog. But these days the biggest problems come from the 2 legged dogs who violently attack them. It’s Extremely Dangerous to be a delivery worker nowadays. I wouldn’t want to deliver even a pizza, let alone, checks, important letters, and expensive packages!

Well one day everyone will have to pay to have mail service but the IRS can send mail to you for free, along with Jury duty notice, the USPS can send you your medicine at no charge from authorized dispensary, otherwise you’ll have to pay for service.

I started as a mail carrier and was threatened by a creep trying to a welfare check, kissed by a drunk and knocked over by a big dog. As Democrats voted to Defund the police crime has soared and carriers are victimized by criminals who get off without consequences.
