We had a bye week and we’re not ready to play. They took a loss last week and blew us away. Coaches did not have us ready to play ball. Poor, poor coaching. It’s only going to get worse!! Sad!!
A fake punt on the 1st drive and then brought the backup QB in to fumble right away. Those 2 decisions purely on the coaches basically ended that game. The play calling on offense was terrible. Dow is far too arrogant to the point of being a jerk, and then has a terrible feel for play calling. Big changes are needed now, before we get further along.
Fake punt was a horrid call but that and the fumble certainly didn't end the game as we weren't even halfway thru 1st quarter at that point..Sellers cannot throw at all, he had 40 yrs at the half, he misses wide open receivers and throws into coverage constantly along with taking sacks with plenty time to run or throw the ball away..gonna be a rough season
Give Shane a break. He is trying hard, and he is still in the learning phase of being a head coach. We need to look and compare Shane to Dabo; and Dabo went through around 5 years of learning and then he started winning national championships. I hope the new AD we hire gives Shane the same chance Clemson gave Dabo; because firing a coach on average every 6 years looks horrible on our University.
@@richboz3156 Shane isn’t paid to learn on the job. He gets $7M a year!! Those were terrible decisions that pop Warner coaches wouldn’t make. I’m not suggesting we fire Shane yet but I do think Dowell, Teasley and some of the analyst should be gone.
@@richboz3156 You understand that Dabo had multiple double-digit win seasons in his first 5 years? Shane’s nowhere close to that mark. I don’t want to throw the towel in on Shane because he has a strong defense, and a young offense that’s got more talent coming in by way of the recruiting class and portal. I think if Shane had at least a B average OC, we’d be okay. Clayton and his defense are doing their jobs. For the life of me, I don’t know why we can’t get the offense coordinator quagmire sorted.
I think he's done great at recruiting and was willing to give him a chance because it takes a few years to develop and create a staff that can compete in this conference but obviously he can't do it because we are not getting Any better at all

I love Beamer. But a few things here. He needs to be more of a coach and a disciplinary other than a cheerleader and bs talk about a player did good when clearly one wasn’t. Also. I cant stand the bs statement after a loss “ i need to coach better, thats on me”. Same crap Boom used to say dang near word for word. Stop talking about it and DO IT.
I agree with you. We need to be patient, and realize Coach Beamer is still in the learning phase of being a head coach. I see Shane as a Dabo protege, which is HUGE especially if he can win us a national championship or two like Dabo has. We need to look at Shane's program as half FULL.
All coaches say this after a loss, its called COACH SPEAK. Listen to Kalen DeBoer and Josh Heupel and it's like a recording for all. You do make a good point to just do it because most likely those two programs will Do It.

The penalties are a sideshow to not being prepared. They played like they were trying not to lose. The early, poorly schemed, fake punt showed desperation and was chum in the water. Ben better than this.
Beamer is Ron Zook. That this goober was hired instead of Jamey Chadwell is infuriating. Ray Tanner has been an absolute disaster of an AD and pushed the football program back to the stone age. Hopefully the new AD has no loyalty to Beamer and fires him his first day on the job.
This loss is on the head coach. Stevie wonder could have seen that fake punt coming. And subbing in the backup QB for a read option is nonsense when your starter is already a supreme athlete. We should be able to beat Bama. If the worst team in our conference whipped Bama today, we should have no problem with Bama. We need to be nice to Coach Beamer, he loves his players and it shows; just remember how emotional/crying after the loss to Dabos team last year. Its obvious Coach Beamer is trying his best.

No excuse for looking so poor coming off of a bye week. Not saying we have to win every game but it's not to much to ask to put an actual team on the field. It's a young team and mistakes will happen but they're being repeated over and over

We need a new OC immediately - this looked like a Satterfield called game... and we need a real QB coach - LaNorris is really talented but he needs some good coaching. I am a 2nd generation, die hard Gamecock fan and for the talent we have on this team to have this result after 2 weeks to prepare is completely inacceptable. Coach Beamer needs to get real and get his shit and this team together. The up and down crap needs to STOP. We have better than average talent - but the coaching and play calling was horrible today. I love the culture, I love what we have done with recruiting, but something is just off and It HAS TO STOP NOW.
No. We have no history of winning brother. Can not expect something to happen out of thin air. It would take Nick Saban even 5+ years of recruiting to build up a program like ours.
We need to support our Cocks, it would look horrible with an empty stadium on game day. If we stopped buying tickets, parking passes, and concessions it would get Coach Beamer fired and we would have to go through ANOTHER head coaching hire. Last season SC was 5-7. This season SC will be 3-9 or 4-8. Wofford has a good chance of beating Beamer. Sellers is either overrated or not been developed properly to play in the SEC. The O-line still sucks after 4 years and the running game is still in the basement. Beamer is not the guy. He doesn't have a clue. Sellers will transfer (which he should) as well as Stewart and the other playmakers. SC will never be relevant until the BOT puts the same emphasis on football as they do woman's basketball. Get used to it.
There needs to be a rule in College football when a player goes down with an injury. The player has to sit out that series. This would stop the fake injuy to stop the clock or slow down the game.
I just want to know: 1&10 we sack the qb and they throw a flag for offensive holding. Why did we not decline the penalty and take the sack?! If we had declined the penalty, we would've gotten a stop but instead we took the penalty and 3 plays later they had a first down and then got a td shortly after. If we had declined the penalty, they would've been punting!
Maybe Coach Beamer should do what Lane is doing. At this point, I am willing for Coach Beamer to tell his players to act hurt after about every 3rd play; if it would get us into the top 20 like Lanes team. Also, it will keep our defense from getting tired, something our strength and conditioning coach should take notes of.

There’s some kind of disconnect with reality. There was nothing “decent” about how South Carolina played. The quarterback play was poor. Running the ball repeatedly up the middle for no gains was completely baffling. Where were the shots downfield?

The players may have wanted it, but the coaching staff did not put them in situations where we could be successful. Sellers should have been pulled in the 1st quarter!!!!! He sucks he's Not a good QB. Every game he's had several TFL because he holds the ball ,doesn't throw it away when he's out of the pocket. Defense Players did good just got put in bad spots. Lost yards on sellers poor performance.

So keeping him in to suck was the best idea?? Treat it like starting pitching screw up sit down look at what you did. One of the biggest problems this game is 2 things. We took stupid penalties and whenever we started getting any momentum JJ pegues would get hurt which will kill all that momentum. I hope he is okay but if he is getting hurt every drive he probably shouldn't be playing football
We got out coached again. Lack of wide receiver depth is hurting us and everyone was talking about it preseason they can’t get open which impacts the QB play. Sellers has to force throws. 6-6 is still achievable, just don’t repeat the same mistakes.
After watching the game again, I have to ask. Would some reporter please ask Beamer how long we have to endure getting our rear end beat on the O Line before he figures out the Strength Training and O Line Coaching just isn’t good enough? Go watch Vandy vs Bama and look at how their O line held up. They have no where near the athletes that SC has but through Strength Training and good coaching they matched up. Even in our wins our Line is not holding up. He can make excuses all he wants to but the Win Loss record won’t lie.
The problem with loggains is he constantly references the NFL. You’re not dealing with NFL talent across the board. Develop the offense to the best of their ability and recruit where your gaps are. This isn’t happening
Everything was obvious for the most point. Bad play calling, No discipline was a huge factor. What was the thought process behind running the ball up the gut constantly knowing that it hadn't worked well the entire game??? It's been a long time since I've seen our team make on the spot corrections when it comes to things not working. Making those decisions immediately is so crucial. When we came out from the halftime break, IDK what adjustments were made but things started wo work. The short passes were completed even though we got very close to the goal line quite a few times and didn't capitalize, to include just before missing a field goal. There is just many things that need to be fixed. Too many to call out. My thing with Beamer, YES! He's a great guy. Keeping the culture, trying to make the this place safe for players to be able to make mistakes and learn from them is a good deal, but at what cost? You have senseless penalties like the taunting the one that cost us the ball when Dylan Stewart taunted their QB. WHY?? I get he's a freshman, I get he was fired up because it would have been our only sack if I'm not mistaken. He should not have been able to come back on the field after that, not to mention we were down 3-27 at that point. When do you draw the line? Clapping after bad plays and poor discipline is getting old. We need coaches that are more stern so that the players need to know how serious this is.

If he converted everybody praises him. The team as a whole was flat to be at home. It’s because the offense leader who is Rocket was limited. Robby fumbled but hell everyone makes mistakes. I’m glad I’m not headball Coach cause I’m not none of you are. We beat ourselves because we lost the field position game. LaNorris is thinking to hard. Throw the ball away or find a lane. To make them respect you make them think you will run. Spencer had a whole different offense the coaches tryna help him play to his strengths. Urban Meyer did the same with Tebow. People was terrified of Tebow he was a steamboat. People was terrified of Cam Newton because he was hard to bring down. Play to your strengths. Arkansas always had a good rushing attack. Spencer just knew how to check down and check out. Pre snap offense is important. So LaNorris will be find if he make the plays he can make
The game was over when Beamer tried the fake punt and put the defense on their heels from the start. Then he got cute and pulled Sellers to put the “package” in for Ashford and he fumbled, screwing the defense again. Both those plays were turned into TDs and the route was on. Defense lost their mojo and offense never got in gear. The momentum was all ole miss, the fans were stunned and WillyB was quiet. The play calling was terrible too. No rollouts with a dual threat QB( just drop straight back every time), no run game, very few chunk passing plays. very predictable offense. Is a QB coach working with Sellers to try to fix his accuracy issues? Dowell may not be the answer as OC. The penalties are a reflection of the coaching.
A mediocre coach is never going to take this program where we want it. Running an offense that cannot come back if behind, even if they were on all cylinders.

Kentucky and LSU proves that USC can play at a high level. Today’s poor performance won’t dictate the whole season. Gotta find consistency especially on offense. Emotions did play a factor but the offensive calls are the key to why we lost and the undisciplined defense killed any respectable momentum they had going and mental mistakes has killed the culture of what sc fb is about gotta get the bad eggs out including in the coaching staff
