honestly, SMU is dominating in its conference, but Morris coming to a power 5 conference is a new ball game. We got games that are slotted weekly on tv; we aren't some little team. I honestly think that we should shop around SEC assistant coaches. I know we have contracted ourselves into a corner because we're still paying Bielemma. We need someone that can guide a program in the SEC; maybe look at some of Saban's assistants?
I saw that 18½ point line and I thought, "Man, how does Vegas think Arkansas will stay within 18½ points of Auburn?". I was thinking 30½ would have been better. As it turned out, that wasn't even enough.
Morris needs to hold his players responsible for their actions. You screw up, you sit down. Next person up or your coaches lose all credibility with the rest of the team

I feel ya. Kentucky fan here and our season is going pretty crappy. Were not quite in the state of Arkansas, at least for UK we have a sliver of hope that the ship can be righted when Wilson returns next year.
How dare you compare your situation to that of Arkansas' lol. You guys won 10 games last year. It has been eight years of struggles at Arkansas with only three bowl games and the best season they have had was eight wins in a year they also lost to Toledo. You guys get a QB back and you'll be in well enough shape.

We suck and the coordinators are questionable. We said that for several in the past too, so we fired them and now they are exceeding elsewhere. Why? Talent.....Dan Enos is a great example. We play in the SEC frickin’ WEST! No coach you hire out there, we flip a dumpster fire in two years. Yes, we shouldn’t have lost against weak teams this year, but still doesn’t matter. We are not close in completing with Alabama or Auburn this year, we couldn’t even with Bobby. We have no line and Gatlin going down killed us. We don’t have any depth. Yes we have some incredible skilled players, but it still takes a line to give us time. I don’t understand why expectations are so high in year two in the Frickin’ WEST! Trey, take any coach out there....when should they be a year to year plus 8 win team in the West. Year 3 or 4, 5?.......us losing 50 to something isn’t new especially to Alabama or the top teams in this league. I hope they can win 4 total this year, just to improve from last year. But this staff hands down are working on the problem, not on the field yet, but recruits. If we can’t win on the trenches, we not going to win even with the great Burks! We have to run the ball. Burks can’t do everything. We need a couple more classes or let these true freshman stars mature a little. Chad may not be the answer, but at least he’s bringing talent into a dry empty pantry.
He's filling skill positions with flashy sports cars. The lines after the most important in this conference. He's done nothing with them, and the type of players he wants to fill those positions won't work here. He's just not a fit. I get it, his supporters are interested in an overly difficult, flashy, gimmick, spread, air raid offense. His "system" needs modifications to work here. I'm sure it's fine in smaller conferences, but not here.
so I am rewatching the game right now and I have already noticed 2 things that stood out. 1 the QB was down before he scored the first TD. Now I aint saying that would have stopped Auburn from scoring but that should have been another play. 2 the 2nd TD the Auburn player was holding an Arkansas player and the Arkansas player was not able to attempt to stop the rusher from scoring. From what I can see already there should have been more plays that might have had an outcome of Auburn scoring less that what they did.
Trey, can you confirm that Morris has been calling plays ? I have seen him on the sideline with the big play sheet for weeks now. Today, it was interesting to see Gus getting all over his star Qb after one bad play with AU up by 4 scores. Quite the opposite from Chad trailing bad and no fiery in his body language. Right on Trey, there is not much to look forward to. My guess is we will get one more win or Morris will be gone after the year, if not we will win 3 or 4 next year then he’s gone. But on a positive note the teams he’s left have done amazing after his departure within one or two years, Clemson was good but they are solid and top 5 year after year. Look at SMU 7 and 0 after today. So maybe in 2021 or 22 depending on when he gets fired things will start to turn around under an SEC level coach. Morris just looked so much like a wannabe in front of Malzahn today and he was completely outclassed by his idol. Hang in there hog fans WPS!
Without a quarterback to move the offense create 1st downs , nothing will improve. Losing field position , time of possession, forcing a young defense to be on the field way to long; Razorback football is just going to take its lumps this season. All 2019 is, one looooong welcome to the SEC for Arkansas 's freshman footballers.
From an Auburn fan... Its coming. Last year most games y'all were multiple scores away in most games. This season, y'all have lost most games by a single possession. Its hard to see when the Ls pile up... But its getting better. The player skillset from CBBs playstyle to CCMs playstyle are completely different. Morris needs time to get HIS players for HIS system. Year after next you will know what you have in Morris

Outside of a defensive breakdown from Auburn we got out scored 51-3. Just forfeit every game what’s the point of even playing if it’s not going to be competitive.

So if after year two you are seeing absolutely no improvement on offense or defense then what do you do? Can we afford to keep losing recruits, playing in front of half empty stadiums? And if the answer is firing Morris then what type of coach would want to come in here and take over this mess? And dont say there are a ton of coaches who would love to coach in the SEC. No one wants to come in here and get their heads kicked in. We are approaching the point of no return with this program. If things dont change and change in a hurry this program will be dead.

15th straight conference loss, it’s not because we’re in the big bad sec either, Texas A&M has won nine more conference games in its first 6 yrs then it did in its last 6 yrs in the big12. The big 12 is considered inferior to the sec yet a mid level big 12 team like the aggies can come in and compete in the sec out of the gate. Arkansas has got to recruit the state of Texas better, I don’t know how you attract good players when you get steamrolled by N.Texas at home last year, then you lose to San Jose State at home this year. SMU is more attractive to recruits right now than Arkansas is, heck maybe even Arkansas state, I am glad we don’t play them. That’s how bad it’s gotten, when you’re not sure if you could beat Arkansas State as a hog fan. Add Morris to the list with Bret B. as Arkansas coaches that wished they never have left their last coaching gigs to come coach in Fayetteville Wisconsin never missed a beat without Bret, SMU is nationally ranked and undefeated and will out recruit us going forward, the SMU job is a better job than Arkansas right now Yesterday’s game vs Auburn had the lowest attendance since 2003, with some of our top level recruits backing out, I don’t see an end to this period of being at absolute rock bottom, not hyperbole either, this is the worst time in razorback football as it relates to wins and losses in Razorback history going back to when we were the cardinals

I’ve had Hog fans tell me give Morris more time. My answer to that absurd statement is look what Morris has done in 2 years, what is another year going to do??? What, another win in the schedule, 3-9 lol. This has gotten out of control, it’s become comical. Morris has got to go. Pay the fricken buyout and hire Mike Leach. The only way the Hogs can truly compete in the SEC West is install the air raid offense.

This all goes back to the UofA selling out its morals for wins and money (PETRINO). Everyone knew he had a lousy reputation and it came out eventually, now we pay for it. Morris seems to be an honest guy who inherited a horrible situation. No other coach in the country would dare touch that job, unless it’s solely for the money, because you start the cycle all over again. Now, if year 3 he still has not found a way to get a couple of SEC wins or show vast improvements, and he has addressed the shortcomings in the coaching staff, there may be some reason to discuss ripping this out and starting over. Praying the dues have been paid for past decisions.
Norvell Kiffin and others were interested but the UA turned them down for Chad. Petrino has been gone since 2012 it's not his fault nor is it CBB's fault. Chad is the absolute worst football coach in Razorback history.
Chad Morris's Record in four + years as a head coach: Longest winning streak at SMU - 2 games. Longest winning streak at UofA - 1 game. Record against Power 5 teams - 0 and 17. The claim that no coach will come to Arkansas if they fire Chad Morris after 2 years is simply BS. There are plenty of coaches that will take a chance to turn the program around for 3.5 million dollars a year. Anyway, here’s my short list: 1. Hugh Freeze ................... (Beat Saban twice at Ole Miss). 2. Gus Malzhan .................. (As soon as Auburn fires him, because that’s what they do.) (Beat Saban twice at Auburn). 3. Bobby Petrino ................ Give him a 2nd chance (Won at least 8 games in 3 of 4 years at Arkansas). 4. Tommy Tuberville ......... (If he loses Senate bid in Alabama) (Beat Alabama 7 times, 6 in a row) (65 years old)
Jeff Long needs to go. Plain and simple, that man has made some poor choices and now fans are trashing the coaches HE hired. Get rid of Long and the pigs' fortunes will rise, keep Long and the misery will continue. But, the folks who put Long into that position will not toss him out because it is a good old boys network and they won't think about eating their own.
Our program has been a dumpster fire, (a now smoldering one, because it's fully burnt out), since Bobby's infamous April Fool's Day joke in 2012. RIP to a once proud tradition. Enter Clown World of the athletic program variety.
@@jtaval87 The reason I remember that game and score was that it is the only game that I have taken my son to in Fayetteville. It was in September 2012 (Bama beat us by the identical score in Tuscaloosa in Oct 2013). We had to play Brandon Allen because Tyler Wilson was out. It was wet and we were in the Alabama section (free tickets).
The endzone isn't toward the sidelines. Your best player on offense is not the TE. CHAD MORRIS is a horrible hire, but there's still hope and he's the OC for TULANE and he's the truth. Don't drag chad morris out another year he can't coach or motivate this already talented team. If Portland st qb doesn't get hurt and a few gifts from Colorado st late in the game, he's winless this season. Which means it's time to write the check and say goodbye to this whole staff
Majority if not all of the state wants to see Jefferson play. I understand you don't want to throw him to the wolves but I just feel like we want see him at all. And next year Morris will have his son ahead of Jefferson on the depth chart which will be some BS
You don't want to p_ _ _ Jefferson's redshirt away. Secondly, are you willing to throw him to the most formidable opponent we'll play this year without any SEC experience? It would be foolish and irresponsible.
Look at our current quarterbacks progression and fundamentals and realize that the same jokers that train them are responsible for Jefferson's progression and development. Whatever talent he had has most likely been squandered and coached out of him.
We have not had a winning coach since Coach Petrino left. JL Smith, Beliema, and Chad all have lost more than they won at Arkansas. Coach Petrino beat Auburn 3 out of 4 years.
The best and it's a million to one shot, hope 4 the program is Nutt. Can he win more than 5 games? No! Can he bring a little respect to the program and maybe, just maybe, make it a place a decent coach would consider? ABSOLUTELY
The biggest mistakein our program's history was Gus as o.c. n the Springdale 3. Our big boosters then betrayed Nutt and we've been paying for it since.My top 3 coaches? Frank Broyles, Ken Hattfield, Then Houston Nutt.
It's not rocket science, the OL has got to get better before they can compete against teams like Alabama, LSU, Auburn, fix that and everything else will improve
He will get his what? Respect as a winner? A national championship? Long and successful career as a top coach in the top conference? Morris is out of his league and looks completely lost.

This is the fault of Jeff long and board of trustees that made bad decision after bad decision. My brother was a starter during the bielema era, so trust me when I say I've seen MUCH more than most fans have.

I love the "Walk and Talk". However, today it was obvious that Trey was straining to find anything "fresh" or "enlightening" to say. But the reason is because Arkansas isn't showing anything TO comment on. Even though I didn't think Arkansas would win today, I thought they would play better than they did. I would rate today as a definite setback.
Trey u pretty much sum it up...very well for Razorback fans..IM NOT sure Morris is the coach to turn it around...I think it will take a proven winner..and we all know that will cost alot...They may have to give Morris another year...because of his buyout..
One of the biggest concerns I had was in the 3rd quarter (and I was at the game, by the way) how in a Chad Morris style offense, we took FOREVER to move the ball down the field only to walk away with 3 points. I joked with my friend that it reminded me of Bielema’s style offense, grind clock and move the ball, but in all serious, it did. In a team that is all about “RazorFast” we’re moving so slow that all I think of is Bielema. And the other thing is Morris’s comment “There’s no quit on this team” because I saw a HECK of a lot of it in that second half. Either Morris is telling a lie that he wants to believe, or he’s putting on a horrible public face we all see through. At some point these phrases, “HammerDown” “RazorFast” “LeftLane” and “Full Boogie Tilt” mean nothing without a performance to show us they’re backed with on the field actions.

Okay, the quarterback situation is not as bad as it seems. No matter which quarterback is back there, the offensive line has got to give him time/protection. The running backs would be much better if the offensive line could occasionally create a hole for them to run through. SO, I blame a lot of the inconsistency or our offense on our offensive line, or lack thereof. On defense, they would probably be better if they weren't on the field 3/4 of the game and someone needs to do a better job of coaching when it comes to containment. If the other teams runs inside, we do a fairly good job. But heaven help us if they head outside. Play calling pretty much sucks as well. If this team does not get drastically better, and I don't expect them to, our recruiting and our ability to hold on to current players will suffer drastically, and we will be screwed again next year as well.
I haven't watched a full game against Auburn or Alabama since Bielema's 3rd season. It's just unwatchable and a waste of time. They are not getting coached up and are now incompetent as a program.
Arkansas has been 11, 12, or 13 out of 14 in recruiting rank in the SEC for decades. Even when the Razorbacks are in top 20 recruiting nationwide they are barely top 10 in SEC and last or next to last in SEC West. UGHHHHHH!
