Portal 2: Project 2009 is a Portal 2 Beta Mod by Incrue Software that accurately recreates the unfinished beta state and cut content of the game in 2009 often known as the "Core Hub Era", in which you meet two new cores including the Morgan Freeman and Aquarium Sphere and return to the Glados Hub after every puzzle.

It’s honestly cool! I might need to make a Portal 2 mod that reimagines the Core Hub beta of the game! I’d really love to see the teasers that feature the Core Rooms, GLaDOS Hub and even the Prehub itself! This mod is just so accurate. Can’t wait for the playable version!

less-known fact: There is also Project 2010, although it isn't announced and not known widely, but from what i know, this mod does the similar to this p2009, but multi-core, late multi core, with e3 visuals. p2010 is also known in psbr. correct me if i am wrong

Project 2010 is created by the same team as this mod and is not actively being developed right now so that this mod can be finished first

Oh, sweet! An accurate Portal 2 beta recreation mod! Sorry, null_607_ and Albert Vint /j (/j = joke). So, Litevex, it’s been like 8 days since I shared my opinion on this. But I have a question: How’s progress doing? By the way, I think that at some point late on in Core Hub, the reflective cubes might’ve been changed to what we know and love today.

Looks good, with my own research I can say this is a little in-accurate due to core hub having a laser emitter model as seen from the test intro. But I can say good job on the puzzles

it didnt have a laser emitter model. its actually the portal 1 ball launcher like here, except it was stuck in the open animation because of maya which made it look weird. so this is fully accurate

The test intro is the ball launcher but stuck in the open position, which could have been an error as importing the model sometimes shows all animations at the same time. Whiteboard sketches also depict a ball launcher.

@@null_607_ ur right but the test intro is so low quality and full of extremely strange models from early 2009, that i dont think its possible to very accurately recreate it. good catch though, we used to think it was an original model too but just kinda tried to look for the most simple explanation
