Hi Raghav , Thanks for Beginner Tutorial, I have one concern, what is meant by Auth or Basic Auth in Collection, does it mean the credentials of API Request ?

Hi Sarfraz, yes these are the authentication ways, like in basic auth we authenticate with a username and password

How are collections named in real work scenario? Are these something like Test Suites? How are APIs distributed to different collections?

Hi Postak, you can think of them as test suites, but in general you can use collections to categorise your requests or tests the way you want. It can be based on a feature, or build. Then you can also have folders inside collections and use that to further classify and categorize

Hi Raghav, I have downloaded the postman app but many options are missing in my app which are present in yours. for example the "description" option of a collection is not present. Any solution?

If collection has multiple folders and each folder has its own set of API Calls (more like a LOGIC Flow), when I say "Run Collection" then what order/sequence will it get executed?

Hi Prasanna, not sure if I got your scenario, but it will run as you have setup in Postman. Means there should be no diff running from postman ui or commadline (newman) unless you specify

I have already created a Request and now I want to add that to a collection. Now, when I click on the Save button, then it ask me to save the request within a collection. However, from the Collection search button within the 'Save Request' dialog box I am unable to list any existing Collection on searching.

Hi Tek, when you click on save, the collections should appear in options or dropdown. I hope the collections are in the same workspace. Pls try again and check. You can also check the Postman latest crash course here - automationstepbystep.com/
