Welcome to this quick postnatal yoga flow for nursing mothers, nursing our babies can be one of the most bonding, heartwarming and wonderful experiences a parent can have, but it does come with its aches and pains, am I right mamas?
***A little side note to any mums doing this class that have been diagnosed with Diastasis Recti - I recommend you avoid plank and even low lunge if you notice any coning happening in your abdomen, if you see this happening firmly hug your belly back towards your spine and slowly come out of the pose taking a gentle resting posture like child's pose, or stay in downward dog until the next asana begins.
I have been breastfeeding my baby boy for 7 months now so back pain, neck strain and
shoulder pain have definitely set in due to bad posture and trying to get my boy latched on correctly, it's inevitable and hard to avoid. So thank goodness for yoga! Together we can use yoga to counteract bad posture, to release muscle tension and free the body and mind from stress, but I'm aware that time is precious and scarce with a little one in tow so that's why I've created this postnatal yoga video to be short and sweet enough to fit in while baby naps, or while a loved one takes care of them for 20 minutes. This is my first yoga after giving birth and am I so glad I finally did it. Been breastfeeding my son for 4 months now. Aches and pains are so real! Thanks so much. 'Til the next session, breastfeeding mommas! We can do this!

Lovely, just lovely! I would follow this video 4 years ago when I had my first baby. Just had my second and remembered this as I suddenly got a tension headache from all the slumping. This did the trick. Love your gentle tone of teaching too. Thank you sooo much!

I rarely comment on anything. However, I would like to express my gratitude for this video. Was suffering intense shoulder and upper back pain due to breastfeeding. I’ve been practicing this flow for several weeks and it is exactly what I need every morning. Candi, you are so delightful and calming. It truly is so pleasant to hear and watch you. Wowwww. The best postnatal yoga :)) I will definitely return. You actually take your time and I’m able to follow you. Whereas other yogis rush they’re moves. I loveeee it. Thankyou so much !! I would love if you posted more videos on lower back pain, I couldn’t bend over with straight legs because my back seems like it will spasm and lock :( one time I bent over to get the baby and it was hard for me to stand up straight. It was scary and painful. If you can post more videos for lower spine that would be amazing:)

My daughter just turned 7 months, and I am still breastfeeding. I mostly feed her in the side lying position, which still really hurts my shoulders. This was a nice stretch that I will definitely use again.. Thank you!!

My baby is 15mos now and still breastfeeding her. Tried cardio and other yoga but i go back to this simple yoga once in a while. This always gives me a nice stretch. Back pains always go away after doing this. 💕

@@YogaCandi Thanks for the sweet response and good wishes! Yes, it's my first little peanut :) I've been going for walks and now have added this class in the mix. Won't do much else before my 6 week follow up, but I was super active throughout pregnancy so it's really nice to be moving again--especially with all of the (stationary) breastfeeding

Liked this yoga practice a lot. I am breastfeeing for 2,5months now and have very heavy shoulders and lower back. This morning yoga helped me wake up and feel a bit releaved before the day ;)

I really enjoyed this video. Since having my baby my body just doesn’t feel the same and even walking for 45 minutes makes me feel like I got hit by a truck. This was a gentle and simple way to start stretching. Please post more!

Ah, Jessie, I hear you, pregnancy, birth and motherhood take it's toll. How many weeks/ months are you post partum? I have a post partum safe playlist you may enjoy, however, not all classes are safe for diastsis recti so check with your HV and if you have diastsis recti avoid core work, planks and back bends, you can modify with poses like down dog or child's pose. I've been using this video regularly for five months - my son is now six months old. It's made an amazing difference compared to the horrible aches and pains I had from breastfeeding after my daughter was born 4 years ago. This was nice! I have a 3 week old and my back/shoulders are so tight from breastfeeding. My chiropractor told me to do yoga to help support my back. I found your video and it was so awesome. I loved that you gave us options to do where we are currently at. My wrists were so tight so that part was painful but I just did small circles and now my wrists actually feel SO good! I hadn't done yoga or exercised, since my 2nd trimester, so this was MUCH NEEDED!! This was EVERYTHING ♥️😍🙏🏽🥺😩 6 weeks pp and cosleeping/nursing/carrying and holding my baby over my shoulder (his favorite position) has my body stiff and in a ton of pain! I knew I needed to get my body moving and stretching again. From the first shoulder roll I felt such a relief, as simple as that was. You were so on point talking about our posture during breastfeeding, being confined to a couch, scrolling into social media etc lol. I was like, “YES! Someone gets it and knows my pain!!!” Thank you for this. I will be incorporating yoga daily starting now.
