It is so rare that I watch a food video on RU-vid and walk away impressed. Literally every one of your videos I walk away thinking that looks amazing I want to make that! Very approachable but look so delicious with layers of flavours and textures. Love your content and I have recommended it to many people which I rarely do. Thank you 🙏
Straight up!!! Took the words right out me mouth. This looks so so delicious and flavor-respecting recipe!! Idk I mean in the way that each flavor has its moment to shine, not too many layers or seasonings. Of course we love seasonings but honoring the natural taste of each layer is sooo sick!! Hahah I know nothing about culinary but this is so intriguing to me!! I hope we both end up making it!! Cheers 🌿🐈⬛🫂
@@luke14946 a pot roast usually is also accompanied by potatoes, carrots, maybe celery, and another side dish like rolls and/or salad. So there typically would be other things to eat.
This is one of the best straightforward cooking videoes I've ever watched, so straight forward and easy to follow for what looks like a great meal 😍 Great content
@@gedwardnelson It depends on a lot of things, elec/gas, wtc. I also think she's teaching us a basic recipe and that the whole goal. Rest is up to you how much you wanna cook your meat or not.
Being Cajun in Southwest Louisiana, most times we had pot roast that was cooked in a Dutch oven on top of the stove as well as the gravy. Mom would always cut slits all over the roast & stuff garlic, onion, & bel pepper in there. I learned by one of the best: Mom.
You seriously can’t beat cajun or SC Gullah cooking! I was also taught cajun by my nanny growing up and my grandmother taught me country soul food and Gullah cooking. Most people who used to eat with us would always be like “Wow! This is so spicy! So delicious! I’m burning up, but I can’t stop eating it! Then grandma would break out the homemade peach ice cream in a small cone to ease all their pain. 😂😂😂😂😂 I love southern food and miss my grandma and nanny badly.
Very impressive recipe. Sometimes making a roast can be something people think of putting it all in a pot and setting and forgetting it. You really did make it elegant.
This looks so delicious. I raised nine children. Pot roast and pork roast were among my favorite meals to make for them. Anyone who doesn’t think a well prepared, delicious roast isn’t a gourmet level epic food is a cheffy chef tool.
This pot roast looks so amazing but i really love what you did for the sauce/gravy and that every dish you make has a bright note from the fresh herbs you use! You're one of my inspirations for becoming a chef, and i admire the creatibity in each one of your dishes, thank you for posting! 🌼
You're absolutely right about holidays!! My mom's been making pot roast for dinner on Christmas day for close to 20yrs now. When I was younger & all our relatives lived closer we'd all gather at my grandma's & have a big pitch in dinner. We'd all bring a dish or two & grandma baked a large ham & made homemade rolls. After my grandmother passed away in '05 & my aunts & uncles moved away over the next few years for work & marriage it became just me, my wife & our 3 kids going to my moms on Christmas day. So my mother started a tradition by making a pot roast in a crackpot w/the usual potatoes & carrots & my grandma's homemade roll recipe. Now each year my kids look forward to that Christmas pot roast dinner at their grandma's 🎅🤶 🎄🎄
As a professional French chef for the last 40 something years I love your recipe. so simple no carrot, celery, or onion. Also, love your garnish at the end. Great job!
That looks absolutely delicious! Most cooks on here don't cook at all like the way you do. Plus the way you describe it was on point, by the beginning to the end you impressed me, keep it up 👏
You blow my mind with like… every single recipe you post. And that is not something I can say about ANY other food person that I know of - RU-vid or otherwise. You slay in the food world, Queen! 🫶🏼🔥🤩💯
I hate it when something fully surprises me right at the start, then surprises me so much further that I have nowhere for my expression to go. Well done! Inspiring!
@@evamar3357 and then you drop your phone, throw your hands up and sit back in your seat wondering what youve been doing wrong because it seems too good to be true.
I'm Irish and believe me when I tell you, there is nothing more comforting than a Roast Dinner on a Sunday, usually I would make a Lamb Roast with mint sauce ❤
As someone who has been cooking for 17 years at the age of 25, I can say I rarely look at those videos and think that people really season foods the right way and cook them the right way, but this was spectacular to watch !!! I loved it and will try one day! ❤
Please could you link the recipe, I’ve been looking for a great recipe of pot roast, thank you so much!~ it’s so great especially during long winter too ❤
I'll break - because you're such a fantastic chef - my mom's recipe called for Top or Bottom Round, searing all sides, then potatoes and carrots and letting it cook stovetop in Sacramento Tomato Juice. Of course broth and keeping the liquid from evaporating. And of course because I grew up on this it's a killer 💯‼️
I love how happy you look in the beginning of making this. I love pot roast with cream of mushroom and mashed sweet potatoes. Absolutely delicious 🤤 💆🏽♂️
This was an exquisite preparation of a pot roast. I like to make a nice gravy too, but sometimes I like to make a pot roast stew with little red potatoes, carrot, and celery.
This is the FIRST recipe short that I've seen that actually EXPLAINS how to prepare the food rather than just doing quick edits filled with ASMR sound effects. 😒 I appreciate you actually going through and explaining each step. MUCH APPRECIATED! ♥️
@@myriah1969why are potatoes and carrots considered “not classy”? You could make some great caramelized carrots and roasted potatoes. And moreover, they don’t need to be prepared with frills to be classy. “Fancy” is just an aesthetic projected onto food, because most recipes share the same basic ingredients - sure, this one has mushroom powder, and shallots instead of onions, but pot roast is always pot roast.
I love watching your food channel! Can you tell me when you use shallots instead of onions? I know shallots are milder, and many cooks interchange with onions so just looking for your take on reasons for choosing one over the other. (Often for me it’s just a matter of what I have on hand)👍
Do you mention what the roast is? I’m thinking chuck roast but I’m not sure. I listened 3x and the talking is so fast but I do love your cooking. Do you list the ingredients somewhere?
great technique and general approach -- some flavors in there I don't like (dill, fennel) but I'm definitely going to use this as inspiration. Some roasted potatoes and a bright salad? helluva meal.
Simple Yet refreshing This is such basic cooking done right And besides the pureee thingy i imagine damn near every household has all the cook ware and grocery stores available with your items
Love that you seasoned a day in advance and refrigerated it uncovered - simple way to improve the flavor and texture of meats by like 2x! I only worry about your enamel pot with the metal utensils - I generally stick to wood on mine out of fear of chipping it…
I Just love how she cooked the roast all the way and didn't just fried the outer layer and left the whole inside raw....Its so rare to see this...the feast is so heavenly to look at..
