And regarding alpha state. You can't judge this from the existence of textures on trees AT ALL. Honestly, adding texture to maps is the LAST thing you do (you don't want to waste effort in spending time on this if the map layout still changes a lot). What determines progress of the game is the engine to drive the core gameplay and maybe some of the UI. It is hard to judge as a player how far they are with that.

Before they dedicate to a game that has a special meaning to many players they first have to prove that they are even able to create a good game in the first place. They should concentrate on releasing a finished and polished game with lots of good content, as well as catering to the Battlefield audience in terms of game design (classes, gun play, server browser etc.)

To me, this comment sounds at least very well thought out. I would give it at least 50% chance of being correct. I am in the EA playtest program as well, but so far I never got invited to any playtest where the game was in 'early' alpha state. But maybe they are changing this now or maybe it was just the selection of games I was eligible of playing ;)

When I re-read it a few times and there's nothing really that indicates this would be Bad Company 3. He only makes this connection due to the weapon and gadget selection being grounded (he called it 'low tech') and US vs RU reminded him of Bad Company 2 but this is what the majority of modern shooters look like. What this tells me is that DICE is playing it safe. A modern setting but without fictional futuristic weapons and gadgets like in 2042 (TOR and flying squirrels come to mind). I don't like that Portal seems to still be there. Are they really going to waste their time on this yet again instead of shoving all resources into the base game?

You do realize they have 4 studios doing all different stuff. DICE focuses on MP like they always had with all BF's multiplayer except Hardline I think (Visceral games). DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect and Criterion are the ones working on the whole game and has been for a long time after 2042 released. Motive is doing the singleplayer campaign, Ripple effect formerly DICE LA is working on the new supposedly BR mode. And Criterion is even helping both on the MP and SP campaign. Idk what world you live in which makes you think the game will flop because they are expanding the offerings they are giving to the whole playerbase and even brining in new ones.

But I keep getting disappointed with them focussing on other game modes like BR or extraction type modes. Literally every game mode Battlefield has ever produced that wasn't the 'core' Battlefield experience has failed (Firestorm, Hazard Zone, BF4 defuse). It makes me angry because Battlefield fans don't want that stuff! And all those resources could be spend on making the actual main multiplayer better. They could make more content, do more playtesting, improve the gameplay, just make it better in general. It'd be different if they already had the core down and perfected and wanted something to add to that experience. But in this situation it feels like such a horrible choice to invest all this time in a game mode that only 10% is gonna play for like 3 weeks after launch.

It doesn't make sense from a marketing standpoint. Bad Company was a way smaller series in popularity than the 'main' Battlefield games. I mean the first BC didn't even release on PC. I think 90% of the newer players that came in with BF3/4/1/5 have no idea that Bad Company was even a thing. So again from that standpoint it doesn't make sense in terms of branding/marketing. Most younger/newer players wouldn't even know if the game is called BC3 that there even was a part 1 and 2. But from what Vince Zampella said it would make sense, since they plan on focussing more on the core Battlefield experience with loads of destruction. I mean making a map unrecognizable from all the destruction is only a thing that happened in Bad Company. So I would love for them to make a game that 'feels' like a BC3, but I don't think it would make much sense giving it that name. Will probably be something boring/generic like 'Battlefield' (aka BF 2024) or Battlefield 6.

4 Classes and 4 man Squads? Ugh. Coming from the original BF1942 I can't say I've liked anything since BF2. My problems: * Spawning everywhere / Squad focus instead of team * UI-crutches * Capping flags too quickly * Classes too few (Corrected in BF2042, but having them named persons without helmets destroys the immersion.) * Navy lacking The combined problems of spawning-capping-map designs means I can't have fun because it's just all dumb instant spawn charges instead of build up lines. And I can't play simulators because it's not fun to die by one bullet. BF you where the chosen one, but you made me leave.

It’s simple, better graphics, full destruction of everything, focus on maps. Slow movement down for tactics and team play and create less wide open space that don’t demand high speed running, flying, jumping. Back to the basics. MAKE VEHICLES SCARY AGAIN, by making them really hard to destroy and don’t put so many vehicles in the game.

Bro, i remember when the BF games were good. Surprisingly at that time youtube was not a big thing and they didn't had to listen to all of your stupid opinions and comments. No offense you are great player, however you have POV that is totally different than what BF games should be. We don't need 5000 guns because people use whatever is overpowered at any point in time. We don't need f**** customization and 50000 attachments because again people use whatever is best because you guys have 5000 videos everyday telling everybody about the meta. So nobody is exploring anymore - thanks youtube. It will be best if they just create a game and stop listening to youtubers. Invite the veterans of the game (like it used to be) to play test and give feedback. There is nothing more accurate than this, absolutely nothing. They need to make 5 things right and we will have a good game. 1.Maps,Gunplay and balance, vehicles spawn menu and balance, team play(but not enforcing it with 1000 mechanics for bonus points) finally fucking premium that give us more maps every time.

There is one problem I have with that "leak" - it doesn't really match up current Vince's strategy of "playing it safe" plus, because of Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russia couldn't be part of the story or even multiplayer. Yes, it's still considered controversial, hence moving from standard US vs RU to NATO vs PMCs, at least according to Henderson. On the side note - Alph tests taking place in "pink trees environment" doesn't necessarily mean the game is severely unfinished. Remember BF1 CTE and testing of DLC maps with gray textures?

Personally as much i want to go back to the OG Bad company. Bad company doesn't have to be the OG characters. It can be its own thing. Like Black Ops for COD. Bad company is the mark of the more robust characters, that sit outside the norm military. Bad Company is the Squad Hero model, the squad that goes and does the impossible. They are above Spec Ops, since they dont even have full military support systems.

If the biggest example of why this leaker thinks it's a bad company sequel is because the tracer dart was in it then I guess he's never played 2042. also the weapon selection screen from BC2 looks pretty similar to 2042's weapon selection screen if he's talking about selecting a weapon/class at spawn. It's possible they did do a test but I think the bad company stuff is just in his head.

The concept art didn't look like a place in the US. It isn't going to be Hardline 2 unless they hate their fanbase. I don't think it will be BC3 because it wouldn't live up to people's childhood nostalgia not safe at this time. I really think its a NEW BF3 and BF4. I think they will get as close to them two games as they can with map and feel.

I would love a modern interpretation of Bad Company - but BC does not fit the large scale warfare we want so see typically from a BF game. I loved BC2 (MoH/MoHW) because it was NOT the typically BF game but smaller and more streamlined. To mix these things up would be a bad idea imo. However: having not finished maps is not a bad sign per se, it is not that uncommon tbh. So I am not worried because of this. I am worried because it is an EA game. But then again: if everything is true so far, it sounds really nice in theory.

If the "Alleged Leaks" Were "True", Then the game might have been Feature Complete (The destruction, gunplay, etc.). But "If" they really looking for a late 2025 window, i think theyre in huge problem. First, the game "might" be unstable due to little time to actually optimize the game. Second, "If" theyre really brand this game as Bad Company 3 (Which is not most likely) Theyre gonna fight an uphill battle. Third, if they looking for a bad company type of destruction, theres gonna be a lot of bugs and stabilty issues on most PC. Thats just my asumption, dont take this random yt comment seriouslly.

Hello everyone, can someone explain to me why the mood towards a Bf Battleroyal mode is so bad? I especially like the rush mode in BF and would prefer it over a battleroyal mode. But the way I see it, a good battleroyal mode would do the game more good, as it would bring more players to the franchise, which would increase the overall playerbase.

Bc2 was the best balanced and enjoyable battlefield. It is still a mistery why they let the game drop and never made a successor that could potentially be a COD opponent in BF style. Dice and EA did a mess with no reason.

DICE said its gonna be NATO vs a private military company, PMC and this guy saying its gonna be US vs Russia so i guess this leak is fake (tho id prefer if hes right, i loved BF4 cause it had US vs Russia vs China , and the soldiers spoke their country's language.
