I personally would love to see a small increase for damage boost considering that all the healthpools were increased or even a small boost to healing targets who are at low health.
potentially a small burst when you first start healing a critical hp target (maybe with a small cooldown on each ally as well), but it definitely shouldn't be constant like triage healing was. triage healing sucked to play against
what the ama revealed to me is that the devs still have not learned their lesson in balancing based on statistics alone. after the countless examples of characters being overtuned and undertuned but the stats saying they are fine, you’d think they would’ve learned by now. remember when they said that kiriko was underperforming and then mega buffed her despite her being meta for all of ow2’s existence… yeah, i remember. The same thing with sojourn. To me, this reddit ama serves as a slap in the face to mercy players. if they do buff her it’s gonna be small buffs that don’t fix anything and probably won’t make her feel better (that’s if they buff her at all.) They essentially said “everyone is crazy, mercy is in a great spot right now.” i’m just really disappointed with the way she’s been treated not just in ow2 but throughout her existence. it’s honestly draining at this point how little they care about her. it’s one of the reasons why i’ve stopped playing her all together.

I’d like them to extend the res distance, extend the healing beam and dmg beam distance and make the cooldown for slingshot/super jump start as soon as you initiate the slingshot or jump.

Tbf she could have used it to save cassidy instead of throwing it ln the ground like that, Also do not be afraid of doing a rez infront of team, your tank was ulting you had a chance to rez the cassidy to create more pressure
i understand pushing healing buffs might make her heal botty, but i rlly do think giving her 60hps would at least be a good quality of life change considering the dps passive is staying at 20?

I stopped playing ow for a bit. I was getting my mental demolished, and not being able to play mercy (my main KWEK) the 90% of games gets tiring. I understand not being able to play it in some games BUT IN ALL? Nah man xD but your gameplays always makes me want to come back :'3 keep it up plis! And i hope the buffs are nice when they come
I would love an increase in her healing like giving her 60 hps again and taking away the cooldown penalty for using her GA tech. I still think she almost always gets value in any comp so I still enjoy mostly one tricking her.
I started to play mercy in OW2 S1 ... And there has been so many changes! Like she is definitely the most changed hero in OW. Back then GA had 1,5 cool down and NO extra time for using slingshot etc. .. and she was faster. Her speed got reduced by 20 procent. Could be nice to get it back - if she doesn't regain some speed atleast, then GA should be changed back to earlier or DMG boost should be increased to 30 again, since it's now 25. I've been thinking her DMG boost should also increase when she valks. So yeah, many thoughts. I still play her and love her, but I'm sad to see since I've started to play - she got changed so so much!! 😮 Like they cannot figure out what to do about her ... xD should I laugh or cry ... Idk both.... Sry long message.
I've become a brig main since mercy is so bad now, and the way brig can pocket her squishies while fighting alongside them is something I'd like to see mercy get with a mini-rework. Something like a lingering heal beam duration if she swaps to her pistol. That way, if your pocket gets pushed and they need healing, you can step in front of them for a moment to glock and bodyblock and your pocket still gets healed behind you. Which is kind of how brig "pockets" people. Throw packs and then man up for them at the corner if you're confident that they can back you up to win it. And mercy and brig would still be different enough even if they had this in common.
Thats actually a pretty cool concept but i think that it wouldnt really fit mercys whole theme and just make her kinda weird. She would need more damage and health and would be a weird tanky squishy character and idk how that would work
@@echoooo5383 yeah but I feel like Mercy's character just doesn't fit in the current state of the game. Buffing her numbers until she's playable would just be super frustrating. Like burst heals that go thru walls and never reloads or more heroes being able to one-shot. And she brings almost nothing to ult-fights except being able to save her own life.
I noticed that Ana and Lifeweaver aren't able to keep up heals on tanks even when they're not healing other players. Was there a change I missed? When I play Ana though, I don't have this issue so it leads me to think either other Anas are missing shots or dps'ing. It's so annoying though having to heal entire team as mercy right now, especially after nerf.
I dont think mercy needs a cooldown reduction in the ga, but i want to see ga getting the 2 activation cancel again, which was removed on seasson 4, i think that a ga cancel comeback and triage healing back could set thinks right for her

I hope we get some triage healing option to help for when people make mistakes with cover and get caught. And I hope they give us more mobility to compensate for how clunky GA feels. We need something. I don't mind the DPS buff. People should be able to be healed when they are actively getting shot the hell up. That's not how any recovery from trauma happens. You heals when you aren't getting hurt.
now i don’t want to get your hopes up as it hasn’t been officially confirmed, however there is a POSSIBILITY we might get a new version of pink mercy as another charity event in season 11. i really wanna emphasis that it’s just a possibility and you can take my words with a grain of salt, however if you’d like to learn more look up rose gold mercy for more info, broyouwhack also did a youtube video on this if you’d prefer to watch it than read.
It might be coming back at some point! I’m fairly certain it will but in season 11 people are talking about a rose gold recolour of the pink mercy skin coming back for charity!
To be honest I don’t think mercy needs buff to her movement, maybe small buffs or quality of life changes but I see a lot of people saying removing the slingshot penalty which I honestly don’t agree with bc it would be fun for mercy players but awful for everyone else, she’s already got great movement and if used properly can make her unkillable, removing the penalty would make her too hard to hit and mean that it would be almost impossible to punish a bad mercy. I personally think that she needs buff to her beam due to the increased health pools and the dps passive affecting both her healing and dmg boost to help with her teams survivability rather than just hers.
I think there’s four potential buffs they could do for her. (Edit: more reasoning) 1. Buff her healing to 60hps then 70hps in valk. As an ult I feel like it should be more impactful. 2. Buff her damage boost back to 30% and maybe 35-50% in valk. Same reason as #1, valk really doesn’t bring much to the table, so this would allow her to further enhance her team based play style. 3. Buff her gun even more in valk like even faster bullet speed, faster fire rate, and more damage per bullet, so she can really get a pick off in valk. In 5v5 getting a pick is more valuable than healing, so mercy being able to secure a kill in valk would make her more viable and impactful. 4. Her movement, they should put the cooldown back to 1.5 since the bullet hit boxes were increased. She was honestly fine with this in season 1 and 2, her whole schtic is being a highly mobile healer when teammates are around.
I think they can buff mercy’s healing like the new general self-heal passive like giving mercy a flat 40 hps+10% of the maximum hp of the hero’s you are healing. So, mercy can be able to save a tank (120hps when healing hog, is it little bit broken😅😅) there is an interaction between mercy and mauga saying that she needs to calibrate her staff to suit different people with different tempareture, so i think mercy should have different hps for different hero which is very fun to play😂😂 Also, I think mercy’s damage boost should back to 30% and slightly damage the enemy around the teammate you are pocketing like in the mirror watch In valk, mercy’s flat healing increase to 45hps & damage boost increase to 35% + reset res cool down This mercy will definitely be the a tier S support 😂😂
This would’ve all been fixed if they just brought back triage mercy. Under 50% health heal boost was so good for her. With the dps passive her heals on
Playing mercy this season feels a lot better to me somehow even though she hasn't been changed at all. As for buffs I would to see dmg boost go to 30% in valk at least if not just all the time then either buff res in some form (cool down, distance etc.) or make the heals 60hps normally and 65hps in valk
I personally think her movement is good as is. It was changed once and required for older mercy mains to rework their muscle memory plus i find her directional movement good
Going back to ow1 movement would hurt Mercy. This is just people trying to gatekeep superjump. Losing the directional slingshot is a huge nerf, only being able to superjump straight up into the air and only at the end of your GA is worse in every conceivable way
Imma stream of conscious my thoughts on her current state wall of text incoming I feel like Mercy's balance is the meeting place of an unstoppable force (Mercy mains) and an immovable object (Blizzard, the corporation). Corporations will always prioritize hard data, that can be presented to management as colorful charts, over any feedback. Namely, pick rate and unmirrored win rate. If there's two things to be said for Mercy mains, its that we're loyal and don't gatekeep. There are extensive guides to every drop of technique that can be squeezed out of her. That context, and the general dissatisfaction around playing her, can't be translated into pretty charts for Blizzard's decision makers. I don't see them actually reevaluating her until her pick rate starts to fall because enough Mercy players are fed up that we stop playing Overwatch. What I think would get Mercy back to a place people enjoy playing but which wouldn't make her busted: - Partially revert the GA nerf so it's synced with her beam linger time. Since the nerf, every new hero and every rework has included some amount of CC. There are some games I can't finish a movement without being booped, pulled, slowed, or stopped entirely. Plus hit boxes are bigger and it's easier to hit her. Ensuring that she gets GA back before her beam breaks would at least make her feel smooth to play. - Move rez back into her ult. Every Valk she gets one use of rez that may or may not be successful. I always felt like rez should be in play so long as one-shots were, and now they've significantly reduced the incidence of one-shots. I'm fine with rez being a less central part of her kit. I doubt that Bliz would ever remove it entirely. - Outside of Valk, her E ability could be anything and I wouldn't care so long as I use it more than like 3 times per game. - Give her back her triage passive, but nerfed from what it was. It was too powerful in its implementation for the single season we had it. This gives Mercy two unique identities among the support roster: the pocket support and the first responder.
