Smoke Grenade+Revolver can be pretty useful, I think Eclipse slept on this ability. I typically smoke when I get close, when Im done with my combo ill time skip back, shoot the smoke and the opponents get hit. Its a nice way of taking care of the opponents if they're chasing you. I think of it as a ranged heaven ascended smite, but its CD is way shorter.
Eclipse is one of those yters who arent over the top annoying, hes chill, he explains things well, and honestly are just the superior type of youtubers. *get this man to 10 mil rn*
@@TheTophatGuy They can still hit you while skating, the other day I got matched up with a twau spin and he countered my skating by spamming smoke and making it explode... Still beat him though, gotta love that defense boost especially with hamon added on it
Personally, I find the smoke grenade to be good for stalling even if your opponent has a counter, as if you're low, you can just sit around the smoke, and if they rush you, you can get free damage, and you can predict counters easily. But that's for only if you feel like being a slimy gremlin.

@@Saikyo-no-Fusion-da Compared to the Star Platinum you are better off with Star Platinum since he has an inhale which can stun you and a kick barrage that does more damage than TW and a long range stun which TW doesn't have except knives but we know that can't be fixed.
6:25 I've watched a lot of eclipse's videos and this is legitimately the only time I've seen someone land every hit of road roller on him because of how much the move sucks, I wonder what was going on inside his head
You know the stand's busted when it's one of the easiest in the game to obtain and one of its major weaknesses is literally a glitch that shouldn't exist
for smoke grenade for any pluck users you can use smoke grenade revolver after thrust and for boxing you use jaw breaker and then smoke grenade revolver
I use my knives and a time skip to get to my enemy, and dance around them with m1s, knives and Chop, the stacked bleed and constant m1s and sets of 30 damage end them quickly.
oh gosh, the intro already had me dying also, twau smoke gernade is good for area control, and cant exactly kill a whole team with it, but can keep them at bay pretty efficiently
My question is who really thought “You know what we should do? give it a CHOP move because the stand isn’t broken enough” when that update came out I was dumbfounded as for TW was still trash
The best way and time to use smoke grenade: Use them to make traps when your enemy is running, then get away from them and pose, when you pose they will try to approach you, when you see a chance detonate the bomb. Or another thing you can do is use it after a combo to knock your enemy away, throw ur bomb and immediately shoot
You can also use smoke bomb as an Anti TS move, since projectiles start moving before players when TS ends, you can toss a smoke bomb and shoot at it, it'll push back anyway that is close to you and do a good amount of damage (also if you hate piloting SCR, smoke bomb is a good way to either make them use up their Your own shadow or to straight up ragdoll and get rid of them)

Extra info on Smoke Grenades: Personally, i like to spam U + X (grenade explosion) after a stun. Its also effective when: The opponent misses a counter. The opponent uses a road roller. The opponent does any kind of move that slows them down. Because the hitbox is so utterly broken that you'll get them even if they dash. You just gotta be quick to use your X right after your U. However, if you like to spam gun and knives, you can chuck smoke grenades around, usually because people forget that you can make it go boom. Otherwise, you can blind and confuse the opponent which is REALLY annoying. Trust me. Others might cower and hide, but then just spam with knife and you'll slowly wear them out. Its also good if you're getting chased, go near the smoke, shoot it, and break free. So yeah. Twau broken.
When I used TWAU I did m1 - knife throw - M1 x3 - eye gouge - jaw breaker - Then smoke grenade. You shoot the smoke grenade as soon as you stand up. If you can hit it it's a pretty solid combo, then again it's not the easiest to pull off.
I know this is super old, and this doesn’t account for knives being blockable but 1 m1 - knives - m1 x2 - chop - eye gouge (it’s completely true btw) - 2 m1s - jaw breaker - smoke bomb combo. This feels more optimized to me, dunno tho.

An Update to this (from a relatively good TWAU main): They made knives blockable, but this could honestly be considered a buff if you have consistent aim. If they block knives, 99% of the time they're gonna get block broken by Revolver, allowing for a devastating combo. That, combined with the fact that knives are incredibly fast as-is, usually means they either still take damage, or get block broken.

As a twau main I can confirm twau is the best stand, it excels in every spec too (boxing not that good as others tho) and its just overall very fun and satisfying
You can use the smoke grenade defensively when an enemy time erases, since most players I’ve encountered who use time erase and I use the smoke grenade this way stay away from it.
My friend who mains TWAU vamp has so many combos. They have a time stop COMBO, that extends out if timestop that almost one shots. After a bloodsuck you can smoke grenade and gun, it hits. Every time. Even if they have a counter and spam q and the button, it won't work. It's probably the second best spec for it next to maybe hamon.
The thing I do with twau is the aba move where if you time skip when you throw knives they instantly get to the opponent idk if jts actually real in yba but always works for me
I have a true combo it’s where you zoom punch then chop then shoot them with the gun (you could throw knives but I don’t know if it would work since they are broken rn) and it does either 1 shot them or does 3 quarter of there health give it a try it’s good
I gave up TWAU for Anubis because I like swords... But I loved using TWAU.. mostly for gun the hit scan(might as well be) is real follow up ez with knifes also I rarely miss so people get mad
I had tw au and got it twice and Reset it, got six pistols and other bad stands, but then after I got it again (the second time) with a rib I then reset it to get tw because of my dio diary, 2 Golden experiences, Ws's, and star plates later I got tw
Ik im late but With TWAU you can make a self-defense: You throw a granade and stay inside the smoke: if someone gets close enough you just can shoot and its done.
Here is a use for the smoke bomb: Let’s say when here chasing you just immediately use smoke grenade then spam pocket revolver, So it’s kind of like a trap move like a move that if u fall for it then practically ur stupid to fall for it ofc
I am a bit of a twau expert (jk not really) But you can use the smoke grenade and use the revolver after a ts combo bc it has massive range and does a lot of dmg You can also do the smoke grenade when an enemy is too high in ts or on top of something or even to find someone So it’s really useful
last opinion in yba is that all stands should have a skill that brings the user and the opponent closer together if you are close ranged stand because some stands become so useless because they don’t have anything that closes the distance between them and the opponent. a good example of a stand is the hand, since it has a skill to drag players into them and a skill to go to them. idk how this would affect balance but it’s just a concept I thought of
Times when you can use smoke grenade: When someone uses roadroller and misses When their kick barrage misses Get to the street and throw one in between buildings
smoke grenade is really good for distance making. If you don't want to engage in close combat and ur opponent is getting close, you can use smoke bomb and gun and it does RIDICULOUS amount of damage plus without gun the smoke also blinds their screen
