I actually think the ladies in the background give a real feel to how a good pottery studio should be. Some happy people working with clay and having a blast. That’s why I love my college ceramic classes so much. We all just sit back, throw some stuff, joke around, and make some kick ass stuff. It wouldn’t be the same in complete silence, at least not for me. Free talking let’s the good ideas flow through the room like a windy day. Hahaha
Se llama “Chattering Tool”. Yo lo hace de bandas de acero. La herramienta hay se vende, pero in unas semanas voy a hacer un video por haciendo un herramienta chattering. Tambien, yo quiero a ir a Costa Rica un dia.
I agree with your observation Gourav Singh. Mr. Lee, I don't think his comment was negative. Just an observation and a complement to you on your beautiful work........................
Very interesting technique, I’ve often wondered how this was created. Thanks you for sharing ! For the individuals put off by the conversation in background, lighten up. Be respectful and show some tact, when voicing your opinion.
The people chatter is awful on this video. Muting of this video is very important in order to concentrate on the technique of the potter. The completed vessel is wonderful and quite beautiful.
The tool used, the hardness of the clay, the speed of the wheel, the prssure of the tool. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4sLCvzV6CPo.html You can see several textures. Some turn out better than others.
Most folks are doing a light chattering with a wide flat blade. If you use a narrower gouge type tool with good pressure, you can get fairly deep chattering. Thanks for the feedback!
I wish you would’ve narrated this video and explained what you were doing. The chatter in the background was rude and annoying. I hope you make more videos as you’re a terrific potter and have some good techniques to share.
I'm not sure you could really consider that rude. He clearly works in a shared space and obviously didn't mind having his colleagues around. Studios are very often social spaces.
Krisztina E. Dihen it says in the description it’s tools made from a steel pallet. If that helps. Would be great if he did a Demi on making these tools and others being used for us beginners. 👍🏼 Really cool bowl tho Love it❤️❤️❤️
Didn't know half a million people would be watching. Sorry it was spoiled. I will be making some new videos showing the tool making and then a how-to on the chattering.
this is a low quality, high tooth recycled stoneware clay. This would be much better with a smooth body clay like B mix or porcelain. I hope to do that next.
This probably isn't his home studio... "Excuse me, I am about to chatter a bowl, can all the women please shut up?!" He doesn't seem rude enough for that.
