Quint Pottinger, from New Haven, Kentucky, has added value to his corn and soybean crops by marketing his grains to spirits distillers and the producers of bio-diesel.
Immense joy having such a good and supportive Dad who mentors and advises you in the business. Most young people ignore this yet it has changed lives for those who accepted to start small and work hard.
Questionable comments. Very very sad. As a farmer I totally get the achievements you have made and all credit to you and your supportive family and community. Stay humble and Keep pushing ahead.
Kevin Grifford I’m not a farmer and don’t know 1/2 of what he’s talking about and don’t even know what I was doing watching this video hahaha. With all that said I agree with what you are saying. I thought I was going to see more positive comments. I even saw a comment that someone said he had it handed to him with his father acreage? I’m no farmer but I do know that’s a lot of hard work and responsibility. I say good for him and I wish him nothing but success.
I hope that conventional farming methods as practiced in the USA are not adopted by the rest of the world: The highly mechanized, energy intensive ways, making people redundant are not sustainable in the long run. Cracks in the system are showing: Relentless competition, depressed prices, surpluses which can't be sold but are pushing many people out of farming, environmental problems etc. These facts do not take anything away from this impressive young couple.
I wonder if they're one of the few who have pushed back against the immense pressure to sell out to Big Agriculture and abandon sustainable organic principles...
We are feeding Americans and we have plenty to ship. You wanna get mad at someone get mad at Brazil for flooding the markets with corn and beans. Don’t get mad at America who is the best at what we do
I'm poor man . But my idea recommend to you all that if you have much money which you should invest your money for farm business. That idea could make you happy, naturally closing, honest profit, great business and job in this earth . Nowadays people who know choosing what are good kind things for their health. One of them is vegetables and fruits.
ivy and roses 1200 acres could be a curse if you don’t know what you’er doing. Yes he’s a lucky young man, he has his father, schooling, a supportive wife, land and even a young man that helps him with his vision but make no mistake about it, if he was lazy and if he wasn’t a smart young man he couldn’t do what he is doing. He has a huge responsibility, good luck to him and his family.
Keyword "merged" and daddy didn't have 1200 acres, after they merged that took the total to 1200 acres between the two...he already had 800 of his own before they merged.
1. I respect you and your profession but you just can't say you're feeding the world. You're just feeding your own nation. 2. Good to know more and more folks from the city are adopting countryside professions. It's natural and it's healthy.
No, we’re feeding the world. Is someone just faking how much we ship to China. America is the largest exporter of corn so I dont know what you mean “feeding just your nation”
Trump’s trade war has cost more than double the 2009 auto bailout in farm aid. Those loans were paid back with interest by the car companies. Think about it.
