Poulan Pro PP19A42 mower forward reverse pedals stuck on General transmission. Let's free them up! 

Thanks for the video. I removed the battery and found a ton of grass and debris piled on top of the transmission. Ended up just spraying the hose into the small opening in the cover that exposes the linkage while tapping the reverse pedal back and forth and that cleared everything out. Works great now!

My mower is 6 years old and the freewheel rod got so bent, I couldn't get it back into gear. I have the plastic General transmission. I bought a carburetor throttle swivel and a 1/4" metal rod, removed the flimsy rod, heated a 1/4" bolt with a propane torch, and enlarged the hole that the rod was in. I bolted the swivel on to the plastic trans tab (use the nylon lock nut & washer), cut, bent & threaded the rod. Now I have a very stiff rod that will not bend. To make this upgrade, just remove the left rear wheel, and it is easily accessible. 1 - 36" rod will make 2 disconnect rods, each 18" with a 4" handle(14" + 4"). Thread the handle into the swivel, then use the supplied nut to jamb and lock it into place. Poulan Pro pp19a42 - 19hp Briggs motor with General Transmission. I also wash my mower after every use. I change the oil and lube it every fall. New blades every 2 years. I use the freewheel every time I mow because I have to push it into its alarm system spot. I have a dry contact switch under the seat wired into my home's security system. It has to be pushed in, and not driven to engage the alarm switch. Dry contact wired to a DW10-345 wireless door contact switch. DW10-345 will not operate below 32F. Mower also has an AIR Tag.

Great work fixing the reverse issue

On mine the forward and reverse were locking in, would have to forcibly push forwards or stomp for reverse and would not neutral. eventually after a short while pedal lever just lost all forwards or backwards engage ability. Now it just flops front to back with no transmission engagement. wassup with that???

Yeah, you have riding mower city going on, I agree, its time to start selling, a little less trades for awhile. Yeah, I am not the biggest fan of the brand, or the weird front look of that machine. But I am a fan of how you were able to shine it up to look brand new though!

I hate the plastic Tran unit It has to have top cleaned two times a year at least, can’t keep it clean enough to work properly 😢😢😢
