Jon Jones is pound for pound best, and here's why. he is 24-0, undefeated as a pro and as a ufc fighter. he has defeated 5 former champions, and one of those guys twice (Cormier). he has a very high finishing rate, and often beats world class fighters at their own strengths. despite long layoffs, he still finishes top fighters and contenders, and he was the youngest person to ever win a championship in the ufc. case closed. DJ is not even a close 2nd.

If increasing weight is a sufficient way to get stronger as a fighter, then the current system have a big issue because fighters choose to decrease their weight to play against weaker opponents that's why i would prefer to change weight classes to height classes, that way we will see everyone trying to achieve the perfect fighter body for their height, and the overall fighters strength would increase

P4P is really nothing but a point of conversation. Means nothing. A comment to explain how a smaller fighter can defeat a larger fighter, which will seldom happen. If you can somehow size-up the smaller fighter to the larger fighters size, and retain their speed, characteristics of fighting. Which you cannot. Interesting conversation at times, but means nothing sense it can almost never be played out.

The problem I think with the term pound for pound, is people mistake it for being the best in your weight class. A couple of factors are (1) how many times has a fighter challenged someone in a heavier weight class? (2). How many of those title defences are rematches? (3) will they take a late opponent change? (4). Are they injured a lot? (5). How active are they (6). When someone on the street is asked to name a mma or any type of fighter. Who are the 3 names that come to mind within 15 seconds?

Can we all be honest and just say that Jon Jones is the pound-for-pound greatest even if he did get caught doing steroids or whatever the case may be he beat people on steroids. I am not saying that to justify the use of banned substances but there is a lot of Fighters who probably use steroids and don't get caught. And if we were talking about steroid free Daniel Cormier has to be pound-for-pound the greatest just look at his resume it is even more impressive than Jon Jones's own.
