Just watched your video and decided to take the rads out of a bled air conditioner. Got 14 pounds with the steel ends left on. They pay 1.50 per pound Canadian like this, so that good enough for me. Thanks for the inspiration.

These are the small household ones and you get an ok bit of scrap for what they are. Obviously the industrial ones are very nice scrap wise. Had quite a few of both in the past, they’re always welcome!!

Hello sir, Thank you for the beautiful video. My proposal is that you can test the engine, in case it works, it can be used for other use as a discharge pump. And in the opposite case we can use the same to recover a lot of copper inside. Then the fan can be used as an air extractor. Thanks again.

inside of the the temperature little line thing that controls on and off has platinum in it same as a hot water tank or anything that has one. in front of the front radiator that goes to the control box and has a plastic piece to keep it off the grill.

you should break down the value of the stripped goods so you can show what the reclaimed money you get and start with the gross weight and break it down

A drill bit through the top and bottom to drain the oil out of those sealed units - which you can keep for cheap cutting oil for other drilling or metal sawing operations - and any one of the super cheap plasma cutters on Amazon make swiss cheese of the sealed units. A plasma will cut it to pieces in about two minutes.

1st item is a thermostat, the switch has mercury in a long tube. That is the 2nd thermostat. 2nd fan is called a Squirrel cage. This is like a refrigerator with out the cabnit. Just condensed. A condenser is in there too. Cya.

You missed one important detail. The canister on the side of the compressor is not always clean copper! even if it passes the scratch test they are sometimes still magnetic. My yard checks them. And ofcourse sometimes they are all steel. Thus the paint

I wonder if you could melt the silver out and seperate it. And also the gold melts 40 degree cooler than copper. I wonder if you can get it that exact on the temperature to melt the gold out. Isn't most solder silver

Love the videos. I'm new to scrapping and these have been helpful. I know you said to take the cooper loops and steel plates off the radiators. Is it better to scrap the radiator like you left it or can you make more money cutting out each piece of copper inside of it?
@williamwahlert8414
@williamwahlert8414 4 года назад
Yes you can make more... well it depends on your yard. I've been to yard clean or dirty some price. And other yard clean one price dirty a lower price. Ultimately for each scrapper it comes down to your time. The volume you get. And how you move the scrap. No wrong answer.
@williamwahlert8414
@williamwahlert8414 4 года назад
You can make more but time to money to cut the pip out of the rads not really worth it unless you have volume and a rad stripper. But then you are going more processing then scraping.

A lot of the time the copper filter on the compressor has 2 steel screens in side run a magnet over it, you will know if it does. If it does I use a side grinder to cut it open and remove the steel screens. love your videos keep them coming :)
