Palmolive dish soap is also a good drain cleaner. Because when you soak pans it releases all the grease and grime from cooking and it will do the same with the drain. Just squirt a decent amount into the drain and then wash with hot water used to see this work in my friends Deli all the time.

Here's a comment for people that have septic systems! I don't believe what she is doing would necessarily hurt your septic if you get it in small doses but better yet let me tell you what will help your septic so you never have to worry about a little bit of salt! A professional told my dad this 15 years ago when he pumped his septic... He said if you ever looked at tomato juice under a microscope you would never drink it there is so much bacteria in it that it's incredible!! I never paid much attention to this but then I did research it on RU-vid and they highly recommend all of your old rotten tomatoes to break up and flush down your toilet it's better than anything you can ever use to get your own bacteria going in that septic system again! That being said that septic guy knew what he was talking about but red x and those other companies don't want you to know a very simple easy fix to keep your septic healthy! All right hope this helps somebody!

@mags127
@mags127 2 года назад
@@kellyb8237 you pour boiling water down your sink when you wash dishes or wash things that need hot water,that's what sinks are for,same if you use a dish washer the hot water has to go out the pipes,as we all know hot water cleans dirt not cold water we use it our every day life and its down the drain it goes where else..😊ps I have a stainless steel sink and I only do it once in a 6 mts period it's not an everyday fix.everyone to their own way of unblocking,if you don't want to use any of these ,I don't have rubber I have plastic pipes..use a plunger if you don't want to use any other ways..

Do not recommend doing this if you have a septic tank. Salt would kill the bacteria rendering it useless and very costly to fix. I had a water softener installed that required salt to flush the system and ended up having to run a new 100' drainline.
@SuzanneBaruch
@SuzanneBaruch 2 года назад
The amount of salt she's using is less than you'd put into a pot of boiling water to cook pasta. Even if she did all her drains, it would *still* be less than that. I think you're over reacting.

Before pouring salt into any drain. Be sure to find out first if what your drain pipes are made of is not copper. Because salt is the worst ever on copper and added with any other harsh ingredients, will eventually rust the copper, and after eventually eatting through the copper pipes, thus causing several leaks in area if the pipe from sink to where ever the pipe drains. The same goes with toliets systems and other plumbing..

The recommended treatment for drain flies and fruit flies coming out from drains is to pour about 5 or 6 cups of boiling water down the affected drain twice a day for a week. In the meantime, follow Emma's advice to catch the adult flies. Also be sure to either take out your trash every day during the warm months, OR put all trash that fruit flies would like (veggie peels, fruit cores/peels, plate scrapings, etc) into plastic bags and pop them directly into your freezer. When you take your trash out, just grab them at the same time. Also, don't keep fruit out on your kitchen counter to ripen; keep them in tightly sealed paper bags. Make sure to never have anything lying around that they can eat and lay eggs on, including wet pet food. After a week, you'll see a noticeable difference. After two weeks, they should be completely gone. If they aren't, you need to "tweek" your routine. Hope this helps!

A waste of materials just snake it. If you have a clog and put this in it and it doesn’t go down now you have more than just water. If you use a disposal in your sink after the food is done grinding follow up with ice it will push remaining food out and what’s left will be ice and just melt avoiding a stinky disposal. They also make a scented cleanser for it as well..
