We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.

I can't keep the two boys straight either and I learn, or used to learn, 200 names of students each year. One is Hayden and one is Carter. That is the sum total knowledge I have. I know the two dogs are Fergus and Freddie, which is which? No clue.

Another great video guys! I love to see how as a family you work together to tackle anything. You must end each day totally exhausted knowing that tomorrow you have to do it all again. What a great work ethic you are teaching your children. Erin I think that you editing is fabulous, with the cutaways to the animals, birds, trees and nature.

At last, the rain eased enough to get the concrete in place for your foundation for the bedroom extension. And your children gave a hand, that will make them feel they helped with part of the build. Ellie is so cute! I hope she keeps her sweetness she grows. That's positive to happen because her mom is a sweetheart too. And the kid's being helpful warms my heart. I can hardly believe the excitement over the concrete in rain, but because you were able to get it done should be a 🥳 party! Leon has been away from the build for a bit! With all them girls around he needs to impress them with his strength and showing who's the boss in the pasture.

16:00 be a good idea to have safety caps on the end of that rebar, can prevent a nasty accident if someone slips while working around the trench

This show why it is a really good idea to put warning tapes above pips so you know where they are. In the past scrap wood has sometimes been used too. Even if it starts to rot you will notice it in the ground.

Leon is so hilarious trying to on the tamper and is quickly pacified when Erin gives him a stroke. That turkey and Elly your animals love you all. You are certainly starting to crush it now with the foundations, so glad that you could pour the foundation. Now let the build start again. Exciting.

The best part of hard work is the stagged accomplishments as you check off each process! Your house is a living example of what you as a family can do. You just finish another STRONG foundation! A house, a building, a marriage, or a child. You have to do the work to set all the details carefully thought out secure and strong! Then you build on that foundation!! Another great video!!

I like to watch this channel and others within the homesteading world because the world needs more families like yours. I feel an appreciation for families like yours with children who actively participate in hard work. The best part of yours is, they want to do it! I can’t believe how fast the kids have grown up! I have been busy since covid and have only just caught up with the build and was shocked, Carter has really started to become a young man, Ally is a young lady! I grew up helping my mum n dad build our family home, some of the best memories ever come from that. So happy to see you all getting that enjoyment now.

I've been watching since you were in the RV and always enjoy you clips, but this week really struck me how much the kids have grown. This week Ellie was in there helping with the concrete pour, and I remember when she was riding in the backpack carrier when the A-frame was going up.

I know it's a bit late, but whenever putting a couple in the well line underground, it's always advisable to use a brass coupling, along with 2 hose clamps per side. I've seen the plastic couplings break and the hose clamps sometimes don't hold completely when only using 1 per side. I hope you don't have any other issues. Always neat to see your progression through this whole process. It's a lesson on life watching the development of your talents. What an experience for your kids!
