Thanks @johnray424 ! Cheers to birding. I'm off to San Diego for work this week and I'll hopefully get some birding content made when I have some free time 🤙
From my experience there is usually a few weeks in June that the black flies and mosquitos are really bad (corresponding to some of the best weeks of birding). I sometimes wear a head net but I find it hard to protect my hands as they usually get eaten alive when I'm holding my camera. This time of year is really the only time I wear a lot of bug spray and bring it with me when I hike.
@@t.alexmoore Thank you, its very useful. I have netting, proper chemicals and a pair of thin gloves as we know our hands are constantly exposed on our camera body. So far I have the following spots (I know june will be too late for the artic type ducks and migrational birds but I hope to still be able to see warblers and maybe other types that are not indigeneous in southern Quebec. Let me know if this list should be updated due to the season: Ahmerst Point, Sable Island, Miner's marsh, West Pubnico, Cape Split, Grand Pré and other spots where I am going for landscape photography (the main subject of my trip). I might be out of luck at Sable island... And I,ll do one of those puffin tours just for the sake of it at Birds Islands. We may bump into each other. If we do, I'll salute you! Lets pray for the bugs gods to be easy on us in 2024. Cheers! Where do you go for bald eagles in the summer? Cape Breton?
