I had the 5 pot Volvo T5 way back in the day. I got it chipped and boosted to 350 hp. It did suffer torque steer when launched from the lights but it was a whole lot of fun brilliant engine. Remember the plod was using them back then.
Mine was nicked and blown up, Pearl white 5 door, got it back, no cosmetic damage. It’s going for repair in the next few weeks at MW Motorsport, owner of the red nitrous mk2 that was on your main channel! Can’t wait to get back on the road!
I had one of these for 7 years. Had it stock and went to ds mod x at 300. Then hybrid 400r turbo. 300 is the sweet spot so underrated! Watching this had made me miss it 😩
@@u04pww2 yeah decent literally power doesn’t drop off quite aggressive delivery. Mine was running 385 ish but torque was lowered as the engine wasn’t forged. I would looking back for piece of mind have had it forged tbh
I just bought one with 150k km on the clock for 13k€, it's a totally different car than my last car Volco C30 although on paper they are the same. C30 was civilized and Focus is like it had two lines of cocaine for breakfast.

Been on the fence with one of these or a megane 225 for a track & street use. I have a zx10r for a speedy whip and e36 for a side ways whip now wanting Boost.Still can't make up my mind but next year I want boost back in my life. Can't beat the feeling 💨💨😇

Megane rs owner here and I have to say I don't agree with the lsd talk Ricky, I've had several fast cars and the ones with diffs I always preferred. One wheel peels are not the one lol. This sounds lovely though tbf and looks good 👍 👌
@@Rickyseniorr well the megane has just over 300 and my old Astra gsi coupe had around 370 but no diff, it would always spin one wheel and loose traction under hard cornering/acceleration and made it a bit unpredictable IMO. Maybe your right for something pushing big numbers but the best 2 fwd cars I’ve had for handling and feel have had lsd. I don’t know if 300 hp qualifies as high hp anymore lol. ✌🏻
Ricky mate if you read this please review the Corsa with the 7 speed auto I'm sure for a Corsa the the lil thing is kinda sick be good to know what a real car enthusiasts thinks, Is that in Slough hes driving looks familiar. @@DazOwen001 mainly in hotter climates, most cases caused by pre detonation or cooking tge block. Not really the "liner" the whole cylinder wall usualy cracks.
@@Rickyseniorr B5244T is no joke, the B5244T5 (2.4 T5) is the best out of the 5 cylinders to tune in my opinion, it is a R engine without the cylinder wall issues. The 2.4 is a semi common swap for P24 R's and P26E R's were the block has cracked. My car has a the B5244T3 (2.4T) engine, while it doesn't have the same head as the B5244T5 (with VVT on both cams, same as the R or B5254T4 as it is officially known) it is the same 2.4 block. I personally went with the 2.4T over the 2.5T because of the thicker cylinder walls. I also looked at a 2.3 T5 but that was the worst Volvo P2 I have ever seen, so that particular example was a no go. And yes I know that some will argue that the B5234T3 (2.3 T5) is better.
Make driving look easy but you got to be a driver driver to drive like that. He looks so in control. I have boys who try drive but look like there not in control what so ever.
I raced a mk5 gti In my electric wheel chair and absolutely destroyed it, we raced for pinks so I put my wheel chair in the back and drove home, I have no legs though so I had to control the clutch and accelerator with my hands and managed to hold the steering wheel between my arse cheeks, unfortunately could not see due to my positioning trying to drive and I drove the mk5 golf into a lamp post doing 220mph, it's a mk5 golf though so as well as being much faster than everything else on the road as you know (apart from my wheelchair but it has tesla p1 motors) it's also the safest so im alive but now have no arms as well as no legs ffs, it was so fast though I was amazed 🤯
@@andrewlittle4563 Astra’s are much lighter cars and would have a lot more torque as it’s a mapped diesel.. Would make sense. My point was that focus ST just isn’t fast.. raced plenty of them.. in my cars.. haven’t lost 🙂
The Astra is around 1350kg, the Focus is around 1360kg and the GTI is around 1330kg. Basically nothing to separate them and although a mapped 1.9 will plenty of torque, it isn't a strong linear power like a bigger german diesel and nowhere near the plateau of a tuned Focus ST. A stock GTI would run close to a Stock Focus ST, barely worth arguing but against a tuned one, it wouldn't have a chance
