Nice setup you have there. One small suggestion would be to steam your cup before brewing the espresso on it, so it stays warm, especially if you're going to set it aside for a while. In cold weather sometimes I brew the espresso and 2min later it's already not hot enough to drink
Yes, I did try doing that but I'm not sure if my scale is a lousy one and if I should get a better one. Because when I put my scale under the mug, the weight just kept going up and down (even when there's nothing in the cup) due to the vibration of the machine. Should I get another scale? Suggestions?
@@thegroundedduosometimes cheap scales are temperature sensitive. Either way, unless it’s a huge fluctuation I’d suggest to just do it anyway. You’ll get a much clearer idea of how your flow is going.
@@VictorCM I think I may have found out the reason for my scale acting up. It was too big for the drip tray, therefore it was unbalanced, probably causing it to absorb the vibrations. I tried turning the scale horizontally, and looks like it's better now. Hopefully, I can pull the shots using the scale next time!
@@thegroundedduo You could try leaving a cloth under the scale to dampen the vibrations, just in case you didn't want to spend on another scale. My scale is the same way but I also have a different espresso machine
Some tips no one asked for: If you’re gonna make two coffees pre dosing beans for two shots is a good idea rather than starting the process all over again for the second one. You could also steam milk for both drinks in a single bigger pitcher and then transfer half to a smaller one for pouring. Start the steam boiler as soon as the second espresso is done. Try to focus on being quick and efficient. You can always clean after the drinks are served. Setup looks killer, greetings from Perú!
Thank you for the tips and the kind words! That's a great idea to steam milk in a bigger pitcher. Will do that next time! Btw, greetings from Singapore! :)
I'm about the same stage as him, but it seems he should concentrate less on cleaning and more on preparing the milk to keep everything warm. But the latte art is first class 👍 I agree about the scales under the cup to find the "ratio" water and coffee, that's what I plan to do in the morning. Looking forward to part 3, very interesting. Maybe he can comment each time about taste, strength, temperature, what improved.
Hahah sometimes the random droplets of water annoys me. I try to keep everything warm but because my machine is a single boiler, I have to wait for the steamer to heat up. I had some problems with placing my scale under the cup(like what I've replied in the other comment) so I'm still trying to figure how to solve that. Thanks for the suggestion! I will try to include comments next time!
