I dont use alot. Especially with my diamond plates. It wears them out prematurely. In this most of the pressure im using is focused on the showside tip. Because it was uneven and the flat spot on the edge was mostly about the last inch of blade where the rest was still very sharp
Around the 11:15 mark I noticed a chunk missing from the blade edge about a quarter inch from the tip. what is that from? Is it possible to remove a chip like that?
Thats not a chip man. Its just something stuck to the edge. Probably stropping emulsion. But yes it would be possible to remove a chip.like that. It would just take a lot of time on a stone like that.
@@steel2stone ah ok thanks for clearing that up. I only ask because I have a couple small chips maybe half that size on my para 3 with s45vn steel, in about the same area on the blade. And a very small roll on the tip. I’ve never sharpened knives before but this looks like fun. What do you recommend for someone who wants to learn to hand sharpen on stones like that?
