Not mine my Arabian oh my goodness he would jump everything he would see even when I was bareback LOL. I always had to be on guard. I'll remember the first . I always had to be on guard. I'll remember the first time I rode him I was bareback he was my cousin's horse and my uncle left him to me in the will when he died. I didn't know how he loved to jump so like I said I was bareback and I ended up on the underside of his neck.😂😂😂😂😂 Never made that mistake again LOL I was always ready
I was this. Made every excuse in the book to not jump, and sometimes never did. My instructor put me on a jumping ban to work on my flatwork skills and confidence in the saddle. Wasn't allowed near a jump for six months. The other week I started on cross rails and I'm so glad he did that! I actually MISSED it? Fine tuning everything before I start jumping properly, like my approach, position, all that, but it's still a lot more fun than it used to be. Sometimes when things freak you out, its ok to step away for a while and try again later.
that’s so true tho lol i’ve lost all my confidence on one horse tho because she started galloping in the arena and a horse kicked her she spooked and decked me lol but then they got me on the horse i feel most safe on and was jumping him after being decked at a gallop lolll i love your videos tho they are so funny and relatable
I get scared jumping, especially when the jumps go up, but, it’s a lot of fun. Plus, it teaches you to control your emotions and master your fears, because your horse knows what to do, you just have to trust him and go with him.
Question, how do you know the horse isn’t ok to jump? I’ve only ever ridden a horse in a slow trot. Never jumped with one. Can you just feel the hesitation before the actual jump or do you have to learn to read your horse and can tell before you even get on them?
You learn to feel what the horse is doing. Especially if you're not that confident. jumping or not Even if you look good together, i have that alot Trainer always saying i did good, but the horse never felt right (90% is bc they're a bit fresher/spookier than normal) They dont do anything, it just feels wrong and a bit more scary imo
