I found the '95 VW Polo G30 to be quite a car when I was a kid. 1.3l i4 with 113hp a 0-100 time of ~9s and that top speed of 196km/h was nothing to sneeze at either.
one of the best reliable golfs ever! I see alot of these and usually are modded with a Hybird turbo and full striaght pipe with remap and and all pull around 200-230hp and sound amazing while also still getting 45-50 mpg you should try doing something like that too in the future
Got my test next month, bought this exact car for my first one and absolutely in love with it! Thinking of buying and putting in a tuned ecu stage 1, popcorn limiter and launch control what do you think?
It pulls and frankly, pumpe duse was a was one of the many great decisions VW took during the 90s and 2000s. From 2010, VW started to be a company focused on profit.

Best golf with best engine the 1.9tdi were very relible and easy to tune them up and quite fast as well like this on is, I would love to own somthing like this I been looking at few car recently, golf mk4 1.9tdi gti models, or bmw 320d or 325d or maybe even audi a3, a4 with 1.9tdi engine.
what is up with the golf4's not having the headlight washer covers? Mine still has them... yes I broke one, but I used regular superglue to put it back and it hasn't fallen off since 2012
I have the same car, Thinking about a remap, im at 200k on the clock so curious how many miles you had before remap? and did you do any supporting mods before map? thx
It had around 250.000 km. Also replaced the clutch for a stronger one. I would suggest to remap when you clutch is almost done, so you can combine the remap with replacing a stronger clutch.
@@MrSamLar1 what do you mean stronger clutch, can you give me specific name of that clutch, how can i find it, and is it needed to do when u do remap? Srry for my english😁
Haris Husić It’s not needed if you follow the factory tolerances, but I just replaced mine since it was almost worn out, I can’t remember the name, it was just a stronger clutch, it can take more torque
I'm getting a tune for my golf mk5 tdi from 90HP to 150HP and 210NM to 320NM. Nothing on the car is modified yet and has 420k KM driven. Are there any mods I should do before getting a chiptune? or can the car handle the 60HP increase?
ReM[i]X The car can easily handle the extra 60 HP. I do recommend to change the clutch of it’s worn out. But if it’s still in decent condition it’s not necessary. When you do change the clutch, I recommend choosing a stronger (race) clutch. It will last longer.
fairy fee It has been tuned to the tolerance limit of what the factory gave. De clutch can take to max 390 NM of torque, but has been replaced for a stronger one just to be sure. I think it has been tuned since 250.000 km and it has 330.000 km now and no problems yet, you just have to do the regular maintenance.
@@mrt80airsal83 the pd (pompe dusse) is the injection sistem. There are 3 tipes of injection on the most common diesel cars : Classic injection, PD and CR (common rail). The PD sistem is known for it's torque. Cheers ! 🙏✋
50L diesel is ongeveer 950-1000 km. Dus een dikke 1:20 ongeveer. Enige nadeel is dan wel dat je je scheel betaalt aan wegenbelasting.
Raphael Kunold I would recommend getting a new and stronger clutch. I think the stock clutch can handle around 400 NM max. And that’s about what you will be pushing when you do a Stage 1 remap. It’s possible, but chances are it will wear out soon, especially if it already has some miles on it. So while you’re at it get a new and stronger clutch I would recommend!
I have a golf 4 1.9 remaped to 160 hp and the stock cluch started to slip with this power, I changed it with an oem Luk clutch and no problems since then.
Thanks everyone for your answers 😬💪 I Think i will get a stronger because the Clutch i currently have got some miles. I remember my Brother once tuned an mk4 Golf gti 150hp/220nm 5speed with downpipe and 3inch. It put out 185hp/310nm and the Stock Clutch was slipping like crazy. The Stronger Sachs did it then.
Vis Vis I also thought that at first! But apparently the front tires were just worn out and were cupped. But I got some new rims + tires and the sound is gone :D
screw78 Nope! A good remap should not produce any smoke. Mine does not smoke at all. If it smokes, after a remap, someone just adjusted the injection a bit too much, which is bad for your pistons.
m.j t It wasn’t a wheel bearing, it were the tires. They were worn out and cupped. The cupping was the cause of the sound. I got 4 new tires now so the sound is gone!

Those who think a remap makes consumption go down are complete idiots 👍 and those who want to have horsepower but dont wanna pay for it should better drive a bicycle
@@danielr.8345 i have a golf variant 1.9tdi ATD with remap and egr delete it makes 162hp an i get 5.4l/100km and Volkswagen claims it gets 5.2l/100km and i drive like a lunatic
BiscuPite You‘ll also need a ARL intercooler, if you change all this, this will get you around 40+ HP and 90NM max. But if you want more, best bet is to get an ASZ or ARL. Otherwise it will cost you a lot of money to change everything. So it’s cheaper to get an ASZ or ARL.
@@MrSamLar1 I cant get other car because this car is well taken care off.. new fenders new back door new paint new suspension :P Also straight pipe. With straight pipe , ecu chip , arl turbo and intercooler , maybe better injection i think i'll get around 200hp
fairy fee I've known people to put 50-100k on a remapped engines with no issues. If treated right they rarely go wrong only clutch does with plenty of abuse
@@Birmingham_racing those are the rare people. the ones you don't hear about is the vast majority of people who had capital damage after a couple of k . manufactures calculate 5-10 % tolerance. Meaning you can tune your car a couple of hp without any risk. 130 to 165 is just plain stupid. on the other hand, 200 to 220 is not.
@@Birmingham_racing i have a tuned audi a3. from 170hp to 185hp. remapped. thats within the manufacturers tolerances and it won't do any damage to my car. i could have had 200hp or 220 hp aswell, but that is just a death wish.
fairy fee depends on the tuner if he knows what his doing not how much gains there. Other variables are condition of the hardware and if the owner looks after the car
@@MrSamLar1 If you actually use that extra performance, it is much more than that. For example, I had an 1.9 ALH VW Bora. Stock it did ~5L/100km outside of the city if driven hard. After the chip to 125HP, it rose to ~6L/100km if I drive it hard (average of 110km/h with tops of 170-180km/h). So I am assuming this will take more like 6.5-7L/100km if you actually push it.
Yeah ofcourse if you’re constantly pushing it to the limits you will not get 5.2L/100 km. But when driving normal/economical then this will be your average fuel consumption.
When i do that, my 110 Leon just drops rpm and i cant throttle over 1,5k and have to turn the engine off for a while to be able to drive properly again. Any idea why that is?
@Sergeant Well probably because no Diesel needs to rev to 6k RPM, they're designed for top low to mid RPM performance and output, at 6k RPM a Diesel engine will make no power of any sort. Even 5k it's pushing it as most Diesels will start to drop power and torque when getting close to that rotational speed, unless tuned or remapped.
