oh my god i remember in fifth grade fortnite was super popular and my math teacher fell while playing one of the games and a bunch of guys began to “revive” him and we all thought it was the funniest thing ever 🧍♂️
I got overheated and nauseated EVERY YEAR! Some times I even passed out. So, I got fed up and got a pass from my mom NOT to have to do field day for the last year. Fast forward few years past college to where I learned I had a body temperature thyroid issue and it explained SO MUCH!
This is kinda relatable as I have Hyperthyroidism and I need lots of water but then my school banned water bottles... It was hell. I feel sorry that you had to feel bad for those times but I’m glad you know what was wrong.
wait, did i read that right? u got to go home? when i ACTUALLY had a nose bleed, blood was dripping down my chin and my teacher said to go get a tissue and deal with it. i couldnt even get a break, i still had to run around and stuff and i left blood on the grass… and then i got in trouble for my blood being on the grass and i went to the principal :/ at least the principal was nice and she sent me to the nurse
I once had a nosebleed at school and it was really bad, blood was running down my face and it got all over my school shirt which was unfortunately white. So, I went to D2 (which is where we go if we're late, sick or injured) and I got a couple of tissues to clean my nose and they phoned my foster mom to bring me an extra shirt.
I miss field day so much! I’ve never been an athletic person, but the games they chose weren’t even that athletic, so it was perfect! The weather was so nice too!
As an asthmatic kid with no athletic skills, field day was my hell! Also, how hilarious that in the 1980s, they gave us soda to keep us "hydrated' and we ate pizza and candy in the blazing sun. Everyone always felt sick af, but no one knew why! lol
my field day always had our lovely librarian outside with a blanket and books, and because i hated field days (too sporty and hot. it's like 90 degrees in early may/june in DE) so I'd just read. :)
When being a person in this world gets tough, sometimes I come to your videos and watch a ton of them at once to feel like I'm back in school again. I wish I would have appreciated it more at the time, lol.
When I had field day in elementary school we had to play tug of war with our class and do team games then we got to do whatever we wanted, and we had a dj and Rita’s custard. BUT in middle school we got bouncy castles and we got to go swimming.
I remember field day. 💀 We had to pass the hoop to each other, but before we passed it, we had to put it around our entire bodies like this. 1: receive hoop 2:put hoop around entire body and jump through it 3:pass to next person It was us and one other team. We were fighting for first place. But each time the teachers had their backs turned, the other team would just pass the hoop to one another and not go through it.
Field day was fun but at my school you couldn’t bring water or food you were out there all day sweating and thirsty. At the end they gave us a melted otter pop and a water bottle. It was fun until you almost pass out-
At my elementary school, everyone loves this one thing called sponge dodgeball. It is exactly how it sounds. You throw sponges at other people, and we were so wet, it was the highlight of our year.
Our field day: We’re separated by grade, K-2, 3-5. We wear t-shirts and make sure it’s good weather to play in. Then we get to play games where there’s water, and a ton of other fun contests. Like where you sit in a booth and people throw sponges in and try to hit you. (The sponges are wet) I’m only pointing out that one because it was the most fun for me.
I think the funnest time during a field day is when we had to do a relay race with obstacles. Than at the end, we have to work together to break a frozen shirt and wear it.
When i was in 5th grade, our field day no longer consisted of going on the bounce houses and playing games with our friends. It consisted of watching the kindergarteners and playing with them.
when the field days at your elementary school we’re actually fun..I remember for some reason on field day everyone (when we were in the gym) would look up at the ceiling and be like woah why is there a soccer ball up there and I’m just sitting in the corner knowing my brother did that when he was in elementary school
Field day in elementary school was hell and my least favorite day of the year. But when I moved and went to middle school they had field day and I almost cried till I heard it was completely different and was actually fun.
It was always hot in the morning, and nice and cool in the afternoon when it started raining. And my team alway beat whoever we were against when it came to tug of war. I miss those days.
Field day was HUGE when I was in elementary. It was an all school event, you had at least twenty different things to compete in, there were concessions, and you got ribbons and scores to take home and show off. In all truth it was like a field trip at the school. Competing and running around the huge open field to new activities. Also the mention of the Tulsa Teacher Convention - Oklahoma I never thought I'd miss you more!
haha i remember my last day of elementary and before we left i told the nurse i didn’t feel good and acted really sick so i didn’t have to do any of the activities i just sat in the shade
this gives me so much nostalgia, and it reminds me of the time we did a day drip to belgium and were told that now, if you get lost in the town you cannot call your parents, call this number instead.
I remember one field day there was a code red, someone a few streets down broke into a house, and we had to go inside and hide under tables for the next hour
Field day in 5th grade was so fun. idk if all schools do this but for the different games there were rewards for winning them at the end of the year. Some games were with teams, some were solo, but they would announce your name at the end of the year and give certificates or something to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. I remember this one game, called recycle relay, where you would get 4 ppl, and there would be a circle with a ton of plastic cups and stuff. ur whole team had to put all of the plastic and trash into the bucket in a short amount of time to win. the ppl with the shortest times won, and my team would win every year lol. This was all b4 the covid shit obv.
I remember that there were different teams and obviously different activities. We had these name tags with string tied around them to put around our neck and whenever we got something right or did something good then we would get a sticker on it and people would try so hard to get stickers. There was a break station but only allowed to go to if you're suppose to be at that station meaning when you change stations u have to be there. They had otter pops and lemonade and I was so excited for that. Covid started and I couldn't do my FLIPPING 4TH AND 5TH FIELD DAY AND FIELD DAY WAS ALWAYS SO GOD DAMN FUN. I feel so upset because of that
I remember that in my elementary we had like a bouncy house with a huge slide and you were allowed to go down and that was one of the most fun part about field day (for me at least Lol)
Broo I remember something like this, there was one where we had these spray bottles and a certain amount of people would just spray at each other. It was fun and cold since it was outside.
I remember one year for field day, it was so freaking hot but my group had the water balloon toss thing last, so after that was done we got to have a water balloon fight with the remaining balloons and it was so much fun. I also remember getting Rita’s ice and everyone would just be walking around with their blue ass tongue. I think that there was also a bouncy house. I can’t remember though. Good times. Good good times.
I remember a field day when I was Little. People were racing and the person in the least (one of my classmates) got to turn around and RUN backwards but the sign L on his forehead and the others and still won. It was extremely halarious.
For me you would run around hang out with whoever and compete with friends or classmates or students you didn't know no, there wasn't water activities at my school but so many people dumped their water bottles on their heads 70% dumped water on their head 20% were dead sweating and 10% were just fine we had so much fun. also the school provided water bottles for those who didn't have one and we got Popsicles also on field day our school has a massive bell and tradition is the 5th graders (last grade before middle school) ring the bell for their final goodbye wish for every student to graduate elementary happily and proudly. I love field day so much
In 4th grade, our field day theme was Harry Potter and I LOVED Harry Potter and still do now but I was so happy and then around half way through, we had to go inside because of a group of boys all were screwing up the games and I cried when we went in our classroom and my teacher pointed at me and said “see you guys made Chloe cry because of having to go inside, theirs field day was her favorite thing and she was sent in” and everyone stared at me crying the rest of the time, it was so long that I fell asleep and everyone when I woke up was standing around me lol
I loved field days at my school because at the end of the day, the whole school got ice cream. (It’s a private school so there aren’t many children. I know public schools have hundreds of children)
I remember getting in trouble in first grade because we had a bubble station and two of us ended up getting the bubble solution on our hands. So we weren't allowed to play in the next station and I'm pretty sure we had our parents called... because we were being 6-year-olds....on a hot day....by putting our hands in bubble water
At my school they had the firemen come and the kids would slide down the hill, except everyone got muddy because it was all grass and there was always a pool of mud and water at the bottom of the hill that EVERY kid was in... Also my old crush heard me struggle to take my swimsuit off one year in the bathrooms... Ah good times
On a field day in 3rd grade, I was so excited because my mom was finally going to come to field day. When we got there, I thought she was just running late so I just waited and waited but she never showed up so I just cried the entire day and one of the teachers let me call her and apparently she forgot that field day was that day 😭😭😭 the teachers still made me do the actives even though I had a headache from crying so much. I bring it up to her every once in awhile and she just feels so bad
Broooo i rember when you finished all the games you got a ice pop and if u needed water they had a water station and they would water fall it into our mouths😭✋
