Originally designed to treat subsets of starchy vegetables, PICUs have since expanded to care for all 8 classes of vegetables as well as fruits. See the birth here: • POV your first C - Sec...
I’m just a nurse, but I do work in the ICU, and very often I feel so bad for how residents are talked to by attendings and by pretty much everyone else in the hospital. Residents are so nice and eager to learn. Maybe if we didn’t treat them like shit, the future of medicine would be a lot different.
youre not “just” a nurse-just because there’s a hierarchical structure doesn’t make you at all less than the MD. it’s only in medicine where self-denigrating submission seems to be expected of a worker doing a noble difficult thing. every other field would not think it has to disempower your selfesteem to get you to do your job at great cost to yourself for other people. they would just respect you.
Why do they always stand with their arms behind the back tho. That’s so accurate😂 And the peds resident in picu that tries their best to shield you from getting dumpstered is too accurate. Mine gave me fist bumps instead of stickers tho
I had a dope as hell differential with tx for peds rounding. I even looked up dosages for abx treatment for suspected lobar PNA. As I was giving the assessment and plan, the cultures came back. It was adenovirus. The attending told me "your plan kinda sucks" and went into the room without me lmao. Peds resident stood up for me and said "we literally got this back on rounds. I thought it was bacterial as well." I did NOT honor peds lol
Fudge these are so fudging good. PLEASE consider releasing blooper reels at some point! I think this channel will go far - at least until Preston's career finally buries him completely. I feel proud to have been here from day1 with the very first spud video 😅 Thankyou for adding some always-needed levity to the absolute gauntlet that is medical training. It is greatly, greatly appreciated.
When I was in rad tech school I did a peds rotations and yeah the no touching the baby is so accurate. Those nurses already knew how to position the baby better than me that’s how protective they are. God bless them
Oh my god this is so stressful to watch. My program had us fill out wellness indices quite frequently and I had really high wellness throughout all of pediatric residency... There were three dips to more average wellness... They corresponded exactly to my NICU time
PICU was the one rotation where i had NO idea what they were talking about and what they were managing. Idk it was all electrolyte repletion minutia and scoring systems ive never heard of or care to learn lol. Normal peds was just allergies/eczema, URI and well child checks for 8-12 hours. Matched Radiation Oncology :D
As a peds NP and a mom of a tet baby, I almost peed myself right off the bat with the taterology of fallot and the po-swish-tato 😂 this is entire skit is pure gold
