@@gaetanodepaola2ndchannel179 there is an option were you can tell yt to not recommend you a channel, and it won’t. I’ve used it and sure enough I haven’t seen those channels ever since, well not that I know of 😂👌
I play the alto saxophone, too. I'm glad that you showed what beginner band members feel like. I'm 8th grade and in marching, and I started band in 6th grade. I loved this and the humor you had during it.
Why do you have to play careless whisper at the end. As a saxophone player, I can confidently say that careless whisper makes us cringe when people classify it as "Jazz". Also you have to tongue the note by hiting the tip of the read with your tongue when blowing.
Last night I was at a 6th grade band meeting I got the rarest saxophone the silver one of course it was an alto but the saxophone is one of the easiest instruments to learn and…big for a short person 😅 I got it from Music and Arts
@@mrjtfang2 Well can a flute be played by an emoji duck? 🎷🦆, checkmate Also love how as soon as you pick an instrument, you are required to find every other instrument in the same category shit. Violines have beef with violas, guitarists with bass, and woodwinds with everything you blow into
I am learning a bunch of instruments so I'm not flying blind in college and I did a rythem test with my moms old Saxophone. Apparently I had the ligature on wrong... and I had forgot to wet the reed lol.
I got a second hand sax 4 years ago and treated it great, and I was always one of the best in my band class. Later, me and a senior swapped saxophones (not mouthpieces and reeds tho) and he said that my sax was so busted up it should go in the trash. Wild
Wait... could it be...? YES! THERE WAS NO WONDERWALL!!! Brace yourselves, everybody, the world is ending, David didnt play Wonderwall on the saxomophone! *edit: nevermind, he did so in the next video.
lol. Beginners don’t sound that good. 😂 but now I’m reading he’s never played before. But if he plays possibly clarinet, the mouth movements and blowing techniques would be super similar so that’s probably why he sounds so good. A true beginner sounds like a squeaking and dying duck. 😂😂😂
Yeah and the worst part about it all is cleaning out the spit valve.... My teacher told me a story about his friend being in a jazz band and he played the saxophone, he was backstage and the saxophonist ( teacher's friend ) ran backstage open the spit valve and he just watched as the whole thing emptied of spit and mucus... Into a bucket that was being held by a stage crew... Just imagining it was mortifying😐
Don't know if this is your first time playing the saxophone. But actually that wasn't half bad considering. If that is your first time playing it, keep going
I played sax through middle and high school. poor thing got bonked a few too many times getting to and from locations and it's pretty much trashed now (it was just a Jupiter, no tears required). through most of high school I actually played the band director's personally-owned Selmer Mk VI (which was fantastic, and _very_ old). while I was in AIT, I bought a Roland AE-10 to kill time in the barracks. that's what I've still got to this day. electric saxophone go brrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I do miss having a proper horn, though. gonna have to buy one the next time I stumble upon a large sum of money.
I used to play the trumpet back in high school for a band, and I knew someone who played the Sax. I could drop my trumpet's mouthpiece, barely a scratch on it. Hell, I could probably throw it and barely put a dent on it. But that wooden thing the saxophones have in their mouthpiece? You do so much as look at it in the wrong way and it breaks, rendering the instrument useless.
