@@monse.MP3 Extremely straight as a kid up to the the age of about 14/15, then sliiiiightly wavy but not really - more of an "I know I look like I didn't comb my hair in two weeks but I swear I did" look. 😅
That's so cool!! My hair was also pin straight as a kid, now I'm a teenager and its somehow wavier, the roots of my hair curl a bit, and it's odd to me because it makes it seem like if i have frizz and i hate it
💯 I relate so bad. I'm only now discovering that the terrible frizz I have might be because my hair texture has changed completely. I wasn't used to this frizz or dryness much, but it's getting more and more wavy in my 20s. So I'm looking into starting a wavy hair routine, but it's soooo much effort. Gosh 😔
Omg like im reading about my hair. Untill like 15 i had straight hair, after that they started to puff a little and curl on end. Now 25 and from like 3 years struggling with curls. 2 years of doing keratin straightening, now for last year im struggling with products, drying and washing. I noticed my hair now is the same as my mother. Dry, puffy, thick and curls like hell- if its raining my bf calls me a poodle xD nothing protects me from Rainy wet weather

i’m the same as you the if it rains i’m ruined and the crunchy hair phase but i get a silk press and it actually has some benefits and it’s not damaging and it stays straight for like a month
Same here. My mom didn’t know I had curly hair. My sisters’ is straight so she’d get us the same hair products and brush our hair the same way. When mine turned out all poofy she didn’t understand why. 😂
Same. I have big curls so when it's long it can pass as straight, but the moment I brushed it, it was triangle lion. My mom would still complain every morning that I didn't brush my hair, when I clearly did. Her stupidity is something
One adult forcing us to brush our hair then getting punished by another adult 10 minutes later for “looking like a bird’s nest” and “not brushing our hair”.
I have gone through every single one of these phases multiple times 😂 I’m currently in the “hair care” phase, where I’m just accepting and loving my hair as it is, and focusing on keeping it healthy rather than worrying about how it looks right now. Trying to wear it naturally curly as much as I can.
I've hit on just straightening it once a week because it is SO much easier than dousing my hair with water and five products every day. I miss my curls, but it's convenient.
Also, am I the only one with curly hair that when you try to curl it with a curling iron or flat iron, it it doesn't hold a curl? My hair is crazy naturally curly, but if I want curling iron curls, that has to be a wet to dry, old-school foam rollers while you sleep situation.
@@j68715 so my hair is kinda like that, Def doesn't hold curling iron curls well and starts to tangle and look weird/frizzy after an hour if I try to curl my whole head with curling iron. Idk why but crazy!

@jazmorgann a lot of trial and error. I like glam belle and manes by Mel on YT. I look at their "easy/ quick" routines. Don't feel like you have to buy expensive products - I love tresseme gel and mousse. My current routine is wash, use a curl cream in the shower, put a LOT of mousse, then a LOT of gel, diffuse, and then scrunch if it's too crunchy when dry. I wash about 1x/ week. You'll find what works for you!! 🥰 good luck!
Me too. Now I want my curls. Will never get short hair again because my curls went wild phase instead. I slowly got curly hair. I originally had straight straight straight hair. Now I get the bell curls. I don’t even mind the frazzled lion floof that I get when it gets humid or brushed out.
Only like an inch or two off the ends though…it’s not like she shaved her head just for the video 😅 She probably needed a trim anyway or something 🤷♀️
@@diariesofdaeja I don’t think so..? She has really curly hair which she pulled straight and cut only about an inch-ish off the bottom. By the time her hair springs up and settles again the amount she cut off would’ve been practically invisible so I really don’t think there would be any need to fake it with a wig 😅 Lots of people trim their hair like this regularly between proper hair cuts, especially those with curly hair 🤷♀️
at 59 I have finally found a hairdresser that knows how to cut curly hair..it sure has taken time..and she converses with me..I'm sorry if this comes across rude, but a lot of the hair salons are run by asian women who will only converse with each other and not the client, other than the initial "what do you want done"..Aussie here.
Amen to that! Majority of hairdressers I find either cut it likes it's straight and then are surprised when the dried version is way shorter than they imagined, or they just straighten it within an inch of it;s own life and then cut it, and the curls still destroy the "cut" when it comes back because it's not designed to stay that way with curls.
@@Enas-_-neither are ‘better’ or ‘worse’, they’re just different Some people look better with straight hair, some look better with curls…some people love curly hair, others don’t like it. It’s all just a matter of taste really 🤷♀️

Okok I literally could not get my curls to look right and I hated them soo so much but here’s what I did to actually make them look like they didn’t js get coughed up by a cat: 1: You need to have soaking wet hair 2. Add some leave in to your hair (I use the not your mothers one) and brush it straight 3: take some curl cream about the size of penny and glide it through your hair using prayer hands from root to end 4: Take some hair mousse (not too much) and evenly distribute it to your hair not really including roots(not your mothers again what can i say their good) 5: take a bit more mousses and like evenly put a bit on your scalp then flip your hair over with your face to the ground and all your hair in front of you and like really get it into the roots with your fingers 6: scrunch in the same position you were last step 7:scrunch with curl gel (not your mothers again help) 8: take one of those hair wrappy cloths or a cotton t shirt and in the same position and the last few steps scrunch and hold to scalp 9: diffuse: hover it over your hair and always dry roots first then section and do rest of hair 10: I like to flip my hair a few times and mess with it a bit for more volume and I forgot to include this but if you want extra top volume then before you diffuse your hair take a claw clip and close it on the hair on top of your head and instant volume Okay all done I’m not sure if it’ll work for you but worth a try fs

Still stuck in that one. And get the “do you straighten just the bangs or just curl everything else?” Asked a lot. So I’ve settled into the unbothered phase now…sorta.
My current phase is accepting my curly hair and wearing it natural for the first time in my life since I was 35 years old. It's never too late to accept and love yourself!
All of them! You named every phase I went through, but recently I started using higher quality products and just let the curls do their thing. Even if they're crazy, their at least healthy and soft.
The, "only asked for a trim" was serious trauma recall. I had it down to my waist when this genius washed my hair by piling all on my head and made a foamy spaghetti with my very fine yet very curly hair!!😮😮 We had no choice but chop it out. She literally made one solid dog-hair matted mess. When I see these poor dogs whose fur is one solid mass, I know how they feel. I don't know what she was thinking.🙄
Yeah I have to do that too. I used the straighten that one overly puffy part of my hair so much that now it’s heat damaged but I don’t feel like cutting it

I used to be insecure about my curly hair as it is always soooo frizzy and tangled . I had this phase where I literally loaded my hair with hair products which then damaged my hair :(
Same😭 during my 5th grade year (it was online learning) I never really did my hair since I just had my camera off. Which then 6th grade came and I had to do my hair myself, which pretty sure I damaged it😅 it was until my 8th grade year it got a lil better

During school "brushed out phase", during university "crunchy hair" first and then "if it rains I'm ruined" and since then it's "I only asked for a trim". Keeping it short is easier to maintain a certain look without much care.
I honestly love it but even people who like it stay away from that because it gives you a lot of split ends You have brush it when it's dry and that's damaging to curly hair. We brush our hair when it's wet That being said, Ive always thought it has a very editorial look it
Finding a hairdresser that is skilled at cutting curly hair was such a game changer for me. I wear my hair curly every day now and it looks amazing compared to before I found this stylist! I’d travel to her if I ever moved
As a girl with extremely thick wavy curly hair I went through the brushes out phase as a child, the crunchy phase and the if it rains im ruined in middle school...now I'm in my unbothered phase and I feel so comfortable
The "only asked for a trim" is SO REAL. I asked for a short curly cut (my hair was already relatively short, so it really was just a trim and some shaping). I ended up with a business man haircut.
Crunchy hair is actually so pretty Edit: tysm for the likes 👍 💓 Edit: There is also a phase where u put your hair in a bun and put 20lbs of hair jell on top of ur head lol. (Learned that from my friend who has curly hair.)
