Gotta say dawg, this one is a true originial, a true factual. This really is it, since this is the only True late y2k web playlist. 90% of everyone else is just a smodgepodge of nightcore or pop of the era, but only here have I found someone with the COCANUTS to really show the REAL REP!

Seeing lots of “I was born in 2008-2010” comments. Crazy to me that I was really their current age and younger even when I was so immersed in all this internet culture. Hard to explain how weird that feels, not a diss on younger zoomers. I feel bad you didn’t get to be there for the best of it but glad you weren’t there for the worst of it. I was one of those latchkey kids with way too much internet access and way too few real life things going on. 😂

it is interesting to see how nostalgia shifts forward with time. Zoomers have a special attachment to this time period and I think it is the same attachment I feel to media from 8 years earlier.

yup! many of these internet themed playlists contains songs from 2013/2014 like the living tombstone songs for fnaf and so on lol so i decided to make one specific for the mid 2000s to 2010, there were SO MANY other iconic songs and very early songs including a few newgrounds populars back then but youtube said no, i'll prob make a part 2 with songs from the early 2000s this time :DD

Good point, I believed Zoomers did had their way to approach 2000s treats not just the music with their modernized way to make it less "weird" for them, mostly applied to any notable iconic from Caramelldansen to Running in the 90s. Take no offense, cause that still fairly natural just like how younger people approaching the iconic 90s video games like DooM, Duke 3D, Mario 64, and Donkey Kong Country

Kind of like how I love my dad's 80s music just because I heard it in the car as a kid and heard about how cool it was from my parents. Kids on the internet hear us talk about how great it was "back then" and it creates second-hand nostalgia. What they don't realize is how much horrifying shit it was so easy to get away with when law enforcement and parents did not understand the internet at all. I was exposed to things a child should never see

Omg! I was born around the birth of RU-vid, so when I was little I’d always watch sonic amvs and such. Funny thing is, a lot of these songs I’m just discovering now though they feel nostalgic, especially sr3l ones. Now one song that sent a shiver through me was Chaoz Fantasy. In elementary school I discovered Geometry Dash, and I still play it from time to time. I actually revisited it during quarantine, so that’s fun. But thank you so much for this playlist!

Born 2004 and entered the internet at a fairly young age. I felt like I was in a whole different world, like a liminal space. Things that scared me back then were either simply too abstract for my immature mind or dulled down by my future experiences. I remember watching really basic amvs where people who were likely also really young put a bunch of edited Sonic X clips over music or put a goofy rainbow filter over some circle tool MS Paint drawings. I used to doodle with KidPix in my elementary years. I used to play flash games with relative ease. Electric pop was everywhere and RU-vid for me was like a magical world where there was a video for everything. It makes me sad to know that such an era has now escaped me. RU-vid has become so policed that creativity on the site is stunted, human intelligence has taken a nosedive thanks to people spreading false information on various sites like Twitter and TikTok, and instead of being a fun place to explore, the internet has become my escape from a dull reality. I wish I could go back but I know that isn't possible anymore. It's not just the people that have grown up, it's the landscape that nurtured us too. Everything has lost that slapped together low-poly and pixel feel. Now it's all about sleek design, simplicity and corporate image. The 2000s have truly become a memory and one day, it'll be nothing more than a distant echo in my mind of a time where everything was still fun.

Aaaaah, i wish i could've gotten internet in the late-2000s, only if my dad wasn't so strict about internet! My dad is an baby boomer and has was so hostile about internet until i evantually persuaded him in 2010. My life is so misreable! Born without experiencing and having internet in my mid-childhood in late-2000s really screwed me! I was born in 1997 which means i am Gen Z, but my parents are baby boomers and they made me ruined my life by forcing me to watch classic stuff that my parents grew up and thinking that new stuff is bad and controversial and that internet has virus in it!

I'm born in 1995 and also only got internet access at age 12 or 13, but I think that was a good age for first free internet access if you consider how unregulated the internet was back then and how easily you could find messed up and inappropiate stuff back then.

Every time I hear Effiel 65 it brings back memories of when things were so much easier, my mom and sister and I would jam out to their songs! Theyre so catchy, the one I remember the most is called too much of heaven, it's absolutely wonderful. I used to be active on /jp/ and danbooru around the 2008-2011 stage. At like 10-11 years of age I was a regular offender to put it humorously for sh*tting up the jp boards with CYOA and other semi-relevant touhou content. they hated it. it was cringe. i'm still that degenerate now, just 25 with a job and a wonderful wife. i'm living proof that a little girl in the basement will turn into a neckbeard just like any boy you meet. i miss those days beyond belief even though i have to regularly attend therapy for my pretty much self inflicted childhood ptsd from having unrestricted internet access in an unmonitored basement in the middle of nowhere. sorry for the paragraph this ignited all those memories...

admittedly I was born a few years too late to truly be the target demographic for this playlist (I only turned 18 earlier this year) but I've had unrestricted internet access ever since I knew how to even use a computer on a rudimentary level so I still got to somewhat experience most of the things referenced here first hand even though I didn't really understand what was going on but hey I am still nostalgic for this stuff so it counts idc

I born in exact year 2000, and only few songs completely hit my nostalgia (Mostly Numa Numa and Caramelldansen, Running in the 90s a little because of GO WEEGEE loop video reason while don't even know what the name of the song yet, OG Everytime We touch cause its half miss on Nightcore version for me) while the rest was totally missed either because I don't know much about them or mostly I never heard of it before. Doesn't matter anyway, but its just for fun on the side of personal taste check as your recalling your days pretty much Not to mention, 2000s DID had even better music remix made from Nico Nico Douga as well, which of course a lot of them had been reuploaded to YT back then so any YT folks can just enjoying them without even have to access the origin webpage first. What a fine age for me to use Live Messenger just to messing around it app and even Windows Hotmail toying before RU-vid was brought to life

Holy shit. I want you to know that this is one of the only ones that personally resonates with me. I watch a lot of others, but to use a word I don't really love, I wasn't a normie and didn't get a lot of the social-related ones like silly bandz because I just didn't have many in-person friends. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sound of late 2000's hardcore like S3RL and I recognized way more of these songs than I thought. Rainbow Tylenol strikes a particular chord in me because I still follow Emma Essex's music today and she's weirdly prevalent in niche old memes/fads (and more recently rubber band became "penis music"). I grew up basically on iCarly and YTPs, for better or worse, and so I find myself really attached to these niche online things from this period, which I sometimes feel like nobody else remembers. I'm glad somebody else relates. Oh my lord, and Fukkireta, sometimes I thought I was the only English-speaking zoomer to hear that.
