Pow-wow dancing styles and meanings

Well before hip-hops fads like the dab and twerking were even a thing - pow-wow dancers have been rocking the beat for hundreds of years. Traditional men's pow-wow dancers are doing more than shaking their tail feather, they're telling a story through their movements and the regalia they wear. The story is usually of a hunt, a battle or a certain victory.

Not sure why it was even necessary to mention The "Dab" and "Twerking" in this piece. The Dab is not even a dance style. Traditional cultural dances will always pre-date pop culture. That goes w/o saying.

Not quite; My ancestors WERE the ones who crossed Berengia & bred w/the aboriginal Tallega here. But even our Aztec cousins spoke of a people that preceded even the Olmecs who were the true aborigines & pyramid-builders which can be traced back to Nimrod (Cushites) & back to Adam. WE DO NOT descend from Eber. The caucasian-neanderthal may though.

You don't have to be an exact dancer...just enter the circle with good intentions. But if you want to try to be then look at RU-vid dances and try them privately in you're home first. The Dine' (the people) don't ever judge you for trying as long as you have intentions in a good way and not to disrespect .it's ok to get the steps wrong in that good way. You want to learn? Join the circle!! ❤❤

ur low-key right tho. twerking was a thing in west african cultures literally at the same time first nation people were developing their own cultures. the over sexualisation of the dance has caused it to be devalued in western society which is sad and the respectability politics involved in this seemingly harmless opening are just another example of how little black culture is respected lol
