You no longer have to worry about slicer types next to the slicer header and orientation on the format pane. Now it’s all in one place. Simply go to Format visual > Slicer Settings > Options > Style. The “horizontal” button slicers are now simply called tiles.
Been around a long time and taken tons of coursework on a myriad of subjects/products, but I think your approach to teaching is terrific. I do not currently work with Power BI but I've really enjoyed your videos allowing me to get my feet wet on just how it works and what it can best be used for.

Thank you! The part about syncing slicers across pages was very useful. I've done it myself, but I always copy the slicer and then select sync from the popup message box that appears when you do that. I'd not thought of doing it the way you showed which is a great way to get the slicer to affect other pages without having to copy the slicer. I will remember that for future reports.
Dear Leila It’s fantastic to learn from you. As always, you’re doing an amazing job. However, I have a quick question, if I may. I would like to use a timeline slicer for a chart. The thing that bothers me is that even though my data only has monthly intervals (like 01.01, 01.02, 01.03), the timeline slicer displays every day of the month (03.01 doesn’t really help me). Is there a way to adjust it so that only the monthly intervals are shown, just like in my data table? Best regards,

Hi, Is there a way to change the color of the active color of the selected slicer instead changing the background color, as I have my visual background colored as Blue, hence standard selection with black color is not clearly visible, Query 2 Is it worth doing PL-300 and PL-900 Certification to add to CV upgradation ! please seek your advise, Thanks in Advance
Great video as always so nicely explained. Thank you! perhaps a topic for another video but I'd be curious to know if it is possible to use a text rather than a value when using card function. For instance if a sales value is in the top quartile, rather showing a number like 75% It could say top quartile. it's very easy to accomplish in Excel, was wondering if it was possible in power bi.
Hello Lelila - thank so much for this - - - - can you set a slicer so that it impacts on another slicer? So in my example, I have a slicer for two categories, when I select one I expect it to reduce or remove categories in the second slicer I have on my page - so selecting Europe, as opposed to Asia - should only show European Cities in my next slicer? I hope this makes sense
I want to have my slicer on time of the day only, say between 3:00pm and 5pm, using the BETWEEN setting. When i set up the slicer and linked it to my time table hour:minutes:00 am/pm column, the slicer displayed a calendar for 12/31/1899 apparently because the first time is 0 or 12:00:00 am
OK do you have a video on basic slicer set up? I am struggling with 1 excel file with 3 tabs of data. I want a slicer that I can select a supplier and show the spend done got that. No I want to also for the same selected supplier show their on time deliver from tab 2 data set.... I cant see to get the slicer to see the chosen supplier and show just their data. Rather is sums up the total on time delivery for all suppliers......
I am not sure what it is called but we have something which i guess is a slicer. it is empty and i can paste series of item numbers in that area and click filter button on the right top of that box and it filters all the data according to the item numbers pasted in the box.
I have a problem where my drill through isn’t syncing with my slicers; it’s not clearing so when people go to select the slicer, it’s blank data because there’s still a filter due to the previous drill thru. Help!
Hi I have a problem with numeric slicer. I put a low and high value for this slicer from the filter pane and when I move the slide to the limit my data is not filtred with my own limit but with the maximum of the original values of the slicer
Hi Leila, Is there an option to insert/embed html code in PowerBi report, or maybe on Dashboards? I have some idea regarding vessels report, and I saw on web for tracking vessel that there is an option to insert tag into WEB pages to have that vessel map embed. Now I want to know if I can insert this code into PowerBI? EDIT: I try to insert tile on Dashboard with WEB content and I enter code in code section, but it doesn't show me (map with vessel position) anything on tile besides title.. BR, Ante
Do you have video for. Column 1 -100 names. Column 4 -50 names. I want to move matching names in column 4 adjacent to same name in column 1. Put the matching name in column 2. If no match do not touch the name in column 4. Leave unmatched in column 4
Hi Leila, That's a great teaching! Is it possible to have all tiles in the report on a slicer, whereby each tile is selected by clicking a slicer? Recently my home computer "died" so I got a replacement which came with Winn 11. Win 11 won't let me install Oracle's VM. Is there a fix or work-around for this issue? Thanks.
