Hello Friends ,in todays episode we see a very interesting and tricky Question asked in E&Y and it involves the usage of the DAX Function called "CALCULATE".We have tried our level best in explaining the scenario and then explaining the CALCULATE function in the easiest way possible.

Consider the below measure written in DAX and has the usage of the CALCULATE function :
Measure =
CALCULATE(
CALCULATE(VALUES(Color[Color]),Color[Color]="Black"),
Color[Color]="White")
the interviewer may ask what will be the output and the answer is Black .Since How the calculate function works is :
Step 1: it uses the outside CALCULATE first and then filters the result for FILTER ="White".This gets overridden in step 2:
Step 2:the inner CALCULATE gets evaluated and the previous value of White gets overridden bhy Black.
