Sir, How many amps can be drawn in each core of a 1.1KV 3.5 c x 185 Sq.mm Al XPLE cable when it is laid out in air , because cable chart showing current carrying capacity for 1 core 185 Sq.mm and 3.5 c 185 Sq.mm is same
The chart shows the current carrying capacity only. The actual capacity shall be find out using derating factors in this case grouping, ambient temperature, and laying condition. Apart from this the length of cable shall also be considered for voltage drop(max allowable 5%)

Since the cable termination has one side at Acdb aluminium busbar and one side copper busbar TERMINAL inside inverter , the aluminium pin type lugs have burned twice , 1) can I use copper lugs at this al cable at TERMINAL (inside inverter side ) instead of aluminium lugs ? 2) or do I have to put bimetallic lugs here 3) or do I have to make separate a busbar box before termination at terminal and use 35sq mm CU cable btw terminating at terminal (inside inverter ) and newly created busbar box 📦 and other side existing AL cable can be terminated at new busbar (which acts as intermediate ) ,
Please read the reply. 1. Using cu lug in aluminum cable is not advisable. 2. Bimetallic washer can be used and advisable. Cable terminations shall be properly tighten with connections bolts. 3. Intermediate JB's can be used. In many cases it is useful where the terminals are not suitable for larger size cable terminations. Thanks
