For the Chiron/Charon thing, they are both Greek, and as for the names, while I’m not exactly clear on the details, both of their names come from the same root word which basically means “Guide”

I started playing smite while I was stationed in Bahrain and if I remember correctly I was over 150 ping. Potentially even 200. It was crazy how well I played once I got back to the states.

Chiron is a centaur archer in greek mythos, i believe. Whereas Charon is the boatman of the river to the underworld. Cant remember if its the styx, or lech-something river.

Charon is supposed to be pronounced Sharon, if that helps, while Chiron really is pronounced with the hard C sound. Even the smite lore videos got it wrong but the names were not similar at all when spoken.
