Tommy eagerly auditions for a karate commercial especially when he sees that he's up against a clueless Bulk. Meanwhile, the rest of the Rangers are enjoying a day at the beach.....until Scorpina crashes the party and traps them in a cocoon from which they can't seem to escape. To make matters worse, no one can contact Tommy since he took off his communicator!
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is the brainchild of Saban, created using a combination of new footage and stock footage from the Japanese Super Sentai series: Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger. The series follows five "teenagers with attitude" Jason, Zack, Trini, Billy and Kimberly as they help Zordon and Alpha 5 take on the forces of the evil Rita Repulsa as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! Turn on the Power Rangers Theme Song, Enter your morph Sequence to Access the Morphing Grid and hop in your Megazord to Join Nicki and Monty as they cover Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! It is power week, power rangers morphicon 2022 is upon us and today is Power Rangers day, what better time than now to enjoy some power rangers content! Once again, the answer is Sentai footage. The baseball monster took balls and knocked them into people's mouths. But his monster small form looked like a kid. And the balls, made you fall in love with whatever you saw first. A pole, a car, anything. So no consume to use for regular fights. So they spliced two monster battles to get rid of it and never speak of it again. And why the footage was so weird

In Zyuranger, the monster used for Babe Ruthless looked like a human boy at normal size. That's why PR only used the giant battle footage.

With all the crap Bulk and Skull deal with, whether they deserve it or not, it really shows how far they come by the end of In Space. They go from being mean, dumb, bullies to doing something really heroic and selfless. And they slowly get more mature and nicer while still keeping that goofiness that makes you laugh.

History is made as the Rangers destroy two monsters in one day, a first for the franchise, even if Babe Ruthless was the shows dumbest monster ever. Also, how the hell did Bulk not break his leg when he stomped through that chair? Probably the most painful-looking thing on this show. And come on, you know sending the rangers to the beach was just an excuse to get the 22-year-old Amy Jo Johnson in a bikini top. This comment was sponsored by Timmy P's Real Brand Mayonnaise.

They did in fact use megazord cockpit footage to represent dragon megazord’s cockpit, despite having the footage for the Dragon Megazord cockpit.

I always liked this episode because both sets of my grandparents happened to record this one. We didn't have cable so I just had three of the official Power Rangers VHS tapes that I would watch all the time but they didn't have Dragonzord and/or the Dragonzord Battle Mode (my favorite zord combo), so I was super excited when they recorded it! 🙂

19:20 - The Rangers had nothing to do with it. Not to mention given all the grief Bulk and Skull constantly put them through, laughing about something like this is kind of minor. I've said on other reaction videos that Bulk should've asked them what the footage was going to be used for. If they're using your name or likeness for something, you have a legal right to know exactly how they're going to use it, but you have to ask.

This episode proved 3 things. 1 They definitely did this for kids who were not paying attention to logic but we won’t be tricked now. 2 Tommy should be the leader he has come in clutch multiple time. And 3 Zordon Is a jerk and Goldar is useless Bulk and Skull keep on making me laugh. Enjoying your reactions looking forward to more and Pokémon content too

There was hardly any green ranger footage in the sentai since the dragon ranger was on borrowed time with his life. So mmpr had to adapt that footage. Also the sentai series was coming to an end as well so the footage was random here to make it work.

This makes more sense in a sentai there’s a reason why you don’t barely see her Scarpino makes more sense in the sentai because they have more fight scene on morph that’s why you don’t see them fight with her

I wonder if the excessively long 60 episode season 1 could be condensed down to a much more traditional ~20 episode season by canning all of the "filler," and just focus on the story heavier episodes. Based on what I've heard about _how_ Haim Saban came to create the Power Rangers, the fact that they seem to running out of the original Japanese footage makes me think the "dollar bills" in Saban's eyes were blinding him to the fact that he was, for all intent and purposes, gluttonizing the footage to point of "destroying" his own product without considering the finite amount of footage he actually had. 😞

Unfortunately, we have to remember that this was the first season. The crew wasn’t really trying to be as creative as they could have. They were just trying to make a relatively cool TV show that kids would love and hopefully would get a second season. It was only after they accomplished that did they start really trying. I’m not defending it, at all, it’s still lazy writing and it could have been done much better. I’m just trying to explain the mindset of the production team.

I... I.... So WHAT happened? I.... wha? Their use of footage for this episode is so.... wha? Not even VR Troopers' editing was this confusing. And VR Troopers used the footage from 3 different shows. I still couldn't follow the logic here.

Yeah I'm starting to see the Sentai photage problem and luckily they do less of it going into season 2 for sure! I can't wait to see the look on Nikki's face for what's to come! One of the best main villains of the Mighty Morphin series if not the franchise in general!

Such a bizarre episode! Some things that still stand out after all these years are the Jimmy P's jingle (which was hilarious!), the graphic destruction of the Babe Ruthless monster, and how this was clearly two Sentai episodes smushed into one. This was going into early TMNT territory trying to crank out as much content as possible with letting any continuity/filming errors rest where they may. But kudos to both of you for sticking through all these episodes!

I feel like this episode was deleted scenes from multiple episodes spliced together. It really made no sense. And that ending with Bulk was really mean. Also, i did a google search a while back on if the Rangers were the bullies and there was a whole thread pointing out many instances where they instigate the conflict towards Bulk and Skull.

Yeah, they'd already run out of Green Ranger costume footage, hence why they reused shots from "Green with Evil Part V" in this episode. It's not even the writers's faults for the lack of character development in the last few episodes either. It's Haim Saban's fault because he was severely opposed to character development on this show, even as far back as Mighty Morphin season 1.

They didn't run out though, there was unused fight footage from the Japanese episode 31. Some other non fight scenes like rescuing a baby, final ranger moments, in the cockpit of ultrazord in his final episode. And some dragonzord cockpit footage they didn't use until green candle and the other part in football season.

@@thealmightyfalcon1359 Aside from the Dragonzord cockpit footage none of that footage was useable for Power Rangers. So they ran out of USEABLE footage already. Especially considering there wasn't a whole lot of it to begin with.

@@tgif1345 The bit where he fights Goldar near the wooden logs was usable. And so was the ultrazord cockpit footage, it just didn't fit with their narrative I think. But they could have made it work if they didn't mind thinking of a reason for the others to not be there, and a reason for Tommy to disappear out of the cockpit, like his powers failing.

Some things that I would change in the episode of a star is Born is the Rangers instead of hanging out at the beach they would be hanging out at one of their houses and Tommy is at a karate competition instead of trying out to star in a tv commercial and instead of Rita’s monster being a gaint worm who wraps the team up in a big cocoon trap.she would send down a monster who’s makes it victims their worst nightmares and fears and doubts themselves and I would definitely have some really awesome and badass unmorphed Fights in the episode too so what you think Monty?

Unfortunately Dragon Ceasar never had a finishing move. Neither did Tigerzord in the Japanese, but they changed that in mmpr. I would have liked to see Dragonzord defeat a monster 1 on 1.

MontyVerse, I enjoyed the Reaction of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episode 32 A Star is Born. Also, Tommy was amazing in the Audition for the Karate Commercial, The Rangers did escape the Cocoon by using the Blade Blasters, The Rangers use the Dragonzord Fighting Mode to take out the Babe Ruthless Monster, and The Worm Monster with the MegaDragonzord. Also, I am looking forward to the next Reaction episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Power Rangers Content. Also, The Title of episode 33 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers next week is titled The Yolk's on You. Also, Nicki, you look amazing in the Green Shirt you were wearing. Also, It looks like the 2 part reaction of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episode The Green Candle is 2 weeks away.
