Power Ramgers doing Regional Variants before Pokemon. Grumble is a Re-tooled Mr. Ticklesneezer and the Snow Monster is a re-tooled Primator (The Shape-Shifting Baboon) Great way for them to re-use/recycle costumes. Also I love that the voice of Armadillomon is Grumble and the voice of Genai is Mondo the Magician. This was one of the most memorable episodes because of the practical sets, like, they really put some extra $$$ into this episode.

Grumble the Elf was actually a re-colored version of Mr. Ticklesneezer sporting a Santa Claus-like outfit with added fangs. Parts of Turkey Jerk's suit originally belonged to Chunky Chicken (now unplucked and wearing leather).

It was mentioned several times already that Mondo was the big bad in the Sentai. The reason they only used footage of his Megazord fight was because he was normally a human character with a very Japanese face. However, when he grew in this episode he had that metal face, so they could use his limited giant footage here. He also didn't die in the Sentai, they just overlaid the Megazord finisher effects on him and just cut to a stock explosion shot.

Mondo the Magician (voiced by Mike Reynolds) - Mondo the Magician was a fictional character in a book titled "Grumble the Magic Elf". He was mentioned to have been an old friend of Rita Repulsa, implying his image and personality may have been used for the character. After being brought out of the book by Rita, Mondo the Magician was enlarged. This monster was destroyed by the Thunder Megazord. Note: In Dairanger, this monster was the masked appearance of the main villain named Lieutenant Colonel Shadam.

You can clearly tell Saban was running out of Dairanger footage at this point given how many multi-part stories we've been getting recently. Storybook Rangers, for me at least, is the weakest but it's nice being able to enjoy even the weaker episodes with you both.

Don't think so, they had pretty Dairanger monster footage, but they left it on the chopping block. They didn't use like Vase monster, bird cage monster, the three stooge monsters, First Lieutenant Zilong monster

Turkeyjerk has no sentai counterpart, though a few parts of the costume came from Chunky Chicken/Dora Cockatrice. Mondo the Magician however does; that of Lieutenant Colonal Shadam, the big-bad of Gosei Sentai Dairanger. NEXT WEEK: Pink Dead Redemption

Fun fact: Mondo the Magician is the main villain from DaiRanger and is the father of Kou the Kiba/White Ranger: Gorma General Shadam

You're right about the Sentai footage not matching up. Mondo's Dairanger counterpart, Shadam, only had one giant fight, and that was against the Red Dragon Thunderzord's counterpart. It was a fight he was forced to retreat from after his power source was cut off (hence Mondo's unusual defeat).

Next episode: Kimberly gets a fistful of power coins, which when the second season was first aired in the UK, this two parter was the last two episode. The Wedding > The Return of Green Ranger > Storybook Rangers > Best Man for the Job > ....Gone Bad > W W Rangers

Nicki has a point that destroying the book would've made sense but these are Power Rangers villains, they might be smart occasionally but logic and sense for them go out the window. Bulk left to get something that they needed, what I don't remember so gonna double check on this, he said they needed to be 9-volt batteries, would be standard for them to miss them under the desk if that is what he was looking for so nice to see that you caught that. to be fair, it's not like Zordon can really even do much I mean he's just a head at this point so all he can do is talk as a Mentor. It's probably a weird Morphin' Grid thing hence how Zordon knew about Bulk and Skull's plans but was having issues with the book, maybe there's a complication with grid energy getting into fictional places. Yes, Turkeyjerk wasn't the only original monster but so was Grumble and the Snow Monster, can't say they were original creations since they were just reusing older monster suits for all 3 and just making them different. Mondo the Magician, how they did him here clearly shows that they didn't have his suit so they had to do what they could. Exactly as Monty says since Mondo I can't recall if he was the active leader of the Gorma villains in Dairanger or just 1 of them but his human face generally showed in a lot of Sentai scenes if I recall correctly and I'm pretty sure this form was limited in footage... double checking, can't find out easily so I'll go through Dairanger later to see how limited he was in the footage.

Bulk n Skull aren't nefarious but rather make bad choices for selfish and curiosity reasons. Plus a bit obsessed at this point too. They don't want the rangers to lose or zedd and Rita to win. Heck they saved the rangers before getting their memories wiped.

Imo, they should have had mondo the magician attack the thunderzords so they fall and break apart back to their base forms so they could use the footage of red dragon thunderzord vs mondo the magician.

MontyVerse and Nicki, Those were awesome reactions of the 2 Part episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers that is titled Storybook Rangers. Also, Part 1 did featured the ending where Kimberly, Tommy, and Rocky got trapped in the Avalanche. Also, Part 2 did featured Adam, Aishi, and Billy battling and taking care of the Turkeyjerk Monster with the Power Cannon. Also, Aisha did use the special Crayons in the Storybook to help their Friends. Also, The Rangers did battle and took care of Mondo with The ThunderMegazord and The Tigerzord Warrior Mode. Also, You and Nicki are the best in the reactions of the classic Power Rangers episodes that you upload on RU-vid. Also, I am looking forward to the Final 3 episodes of the reaction episodes of Season 2 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers especially the 2 Part episode of Wild West Rangers. OMG I hated this episode even as a kid! I remember when they gave a preview for this episode because I thought "The Power Rangers in a Never Ending Story type adventure? AWESOME!!" This episode was so lazy man, complete waste of the concept!
