Despite the fact that Megaforce wasn't the best season, yeah let's put it like that, there's one thing we can all agree on. The fact that PR's themes are always bangers
@@chloeeng6811 Sadly it's never gonna happen. Next best thing is if Super Sentai does another anniversary season of having previous seasons powers, and it gets adapted for power rangers. But that's probably not going to happen for a long time either.
There is an episode where each of the five is kind of in their own fight and each goes through 2 or 3 different forms, Zeo Green and In Space Yellow getting used by themselves. At least it was SOMETHING, because Lightspeed is only used in the DVD extended cut of the last fight... But we made sure to use the Dairanger suits like 3 times.
Would have been better if they made Super Megaforce a separate team, with it's own season. More room for growth, especially for Orion, and plenty of opportunities to create more original episodes, while only using the keys for teams that actually existed in the Power Ranger timeline, instead of throwing out what looks like keys out of the blue.
tbf the only reason they used other keys is because they were too lazy to edit the footage, hence them leaving the Sentai footage in, and therefore having to create an excuse of having "powers nobody has seen before." Good thing BOOM Comics handled this mistake very well, since now they're creating lore and backstories for the unadapted Sentai teams, and making them aliens, so technically, Earth really has not seen them before.
I feel like having them actually adapt the World Hoping Pirate theme that the original sentai group had would have made this much better. Like the whole upgrading from one team to another makes alot of sense with how strong the enemy is in the sow but they choose the absolute worse season to connect since the Rangers started acting and fighting in vastly different ways from how they were from the first season. But I guess thats what you get for making Pirates the upgrade for the rangers that were originally based on freaking Angels
Daaaaamn! Seeing the Wild Force, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, SPD and Mystic Force brings me a hell a lot of nostalgic memories Nice childhood memories :')
The fact that the themes fit in with the instrumental vibe of the Neo-Saban proves that the season could have made new takes of these old themes if using the original themes wasn't an option.
I wish they still included the left out teams like in space, alien, lightspeed rescue, time force, ninja storm, and operation overdrive... Now that would've made the season better as well
i guess the reason why they left out those teams was because of the episodes' (and transformation sequences) being too close to the sentai counterpart. They can't use the footage from the Megaranger tribute episode because 1. the Megaranger's transformation sequence literally says Megaranger; 2. They're fighting Basco, somebody not adapted to SM, 3. The footage overall were too far from the original aspect of In Space, PR In Space was, well, in space, while Megaranger is on a high school. Totally different. (No, Fourze, btfo) Lightspeed Rescue's footage cannot be used because their transformation sequence included the Gokaiger cast's faces, and Saban is too cheap to remake the original transformation sequences. (I mean, they used the Sentai transformation sequences for the other teams, despite the PR versions being totally different, soooo) Time Force's footage is also unusable because the only times they used the keys were 1. during the Megaranger tribute episode where they used the cannon to refreeze the time bombs placed by Basco on Moroboshi High, and 2. during the actual Timeranger tribute episode, which takes place during Goseiger vs Shinkenger. Unusable for obvious reasons. Ninja Storm, well, they really weren't used that much in Gokaiger either. Hurricaneger's tribute episode instead had a team up between the Gokaigers and the Hurricanegers instead of the usual tribute Gokai Change so there's that, and if they attempted to adapt that storyline either, they for sure cannot get Pua Magsiva because of reasons that are easily found on the internet. Operation Overdrive, wasn't used because the Boukenger episode was basically an epilogue to the series, with Ryuuwon and Akashi's rivalry still raging on. And before anybody can suggest that they create original footage instead, remember that Saban is a cheapskate a-hole. I'm amazed they even created original footage for the Dino Thunder one, but that's because the original Japanese footage included an inside joke exclusive to Abaranger, which also made it unusable.
You know that a show is good when you can immediately identify someone just by their body movements and apparently it doesn't extend in the English version which is sad
@@bluecrood2720 okay. Acting with your body is a skill. Without a face, body language is key to get across feelings and character. With Sentai, they have very skilled suit actors who are masters at this. But they are acting for the characters in Sentai. With PR they make new characters for the rangers. Which is fine because they normally have some original suited footage so when the Sentai footage doesn't really match, like say a rangers body language being much more timid than what the PR version is supposed to be, it is not as noticeable. But Super Mega Force is 85% stock footage. So it is very obvious how personalities do not match up. Jake is very confident, a sure fighter, a bit of a jock personality type. GokaiGreen was an overly scared nerd with next to no fighting skills and tripped over himself all the time Noah is the nerdy type. GokaiBlue in battle is cold, calm, a swordsman who is too cool for his opponents Emily is an outdoor tomboy cyclist and photographer. GokaiPink was a prim and proper princess And you can see that disconnect with how the suits act compared to what the characters say
What I love about Gokaiger is for the tribute episodes they manage to get a returning cast member of there represented series and each guest had an important role to play. Hands down my favorite is the Jetman tribute episode. I already knew Megaforce was going to fail bad.
It's funny how in super sentai this actually happens. When they are transform and r in a important moment, the intro of the Sentai is in the background soundtrack
and the fact that they did get one representative from each series to make an appearance was even better. Granted some were just cameos in the Gokaiger Goseiger 199 Hero Battle but the fact they still showed up means something. They got maybe a small handful of guests for one episode and 2 actual tribute episodes in this mess. Just sad really.
@@sentaikng there's also the fact a lot of more people wanted to go but they told all of them with such short notice they just couldn't find a way to go
Amazing what can happen if you just use the right music to a scene. I'm getting goosebumps, same way as I did when i watched Gokaiger. But honestly, joking aside, that's one thing Super Megaforce did right: using the catchphrases and pre-battle calls of the ranger teams. Every time i hear it it gives me goosebumps
0:30 you can clearly see that Gokai Green is actually holding a black Ranger key even though he is transforming in green turbo ranger. That is because in sentai, gokaiger did transform into the wrong Rangers called "Turboranger" as joke because one actor from "Car Ranger" was there on this Episode
0:05 -- I only just noticed that Jake is just chilling on the bench, legs crossed, firing the Power Axe's cannon at leisure. That Gokaiger footage has a lot of hidden gems.
definitely jungle fury and dino thunder wre my 2 favourite session the kid in me is crying from nostalgia loved them 2 session and loved jungle fury and dino thunder theme song they were the dino thunder forever and jungle furry forever ever
the sentai is considered one of the best and a paragon on how you do an annyversary season of a show altogether. while saban didn't even manage to get the music behind the transformations...
@@leonardofarias8843 in one of them the guy is supposed to be an idiot, as the season isn't "good VS evil", in fact the dangers kicks up when he's replaced. in the other, he's still an idiot, but we're supposed to take him at least somewhat seriously
Yeah, honestly, had they used a new cast instead of the subpar Megaforce cast, which I do enjoy, just not as much, Super Megaforce would have been great. Had it not been Super Megaforce.
@@zero1872001 Saban: "They're power hungry pirates that only want to try fried pork and curry? And only fight the bad guys because they threaten to destroy the food? We can't have kids look up to realistic goals!"
It's INCREDIBLE how much better simply using the music from the respective seasons makes all these scenes. It should have been very simple, but like everything in Super Megaforce, it was lazy, lazy, lazy.
I'm personally just mad at how little this adresses how these seperate rangers are at all related particularly with spd where thats supposed to be a future series but it just slaps them in without regard for how little sense for them to be "Rangers of old"
Its lazy in that way that only Megaforce ever could be. "Should we use the old musical scores for fan service".... "Naw, let's not and write new music that viewers will ignore because it adds nothing"
@@PissedGrunty ever since samurai, the franchise is lazy. Sure we have Dino charge, but still. 1. They keep splitting the seasons in half. 2. They recycle the back ground music. 3. The themes songs are not that original!
I don’t know if it’s good or bad that this video actually makes me excited. BTW Your edit is no less than perfect, I was convinced in 100% that this is indeed the original clips from the show. You improved this so much. Nostalgia blast.
I doubt they will but if they make an original Power Rangers season for anniversary cough cough 30th anniversary cough cough they could something similar to Super Megaforce or heck for movie they could do a proper legendary battle
@@dreed138 That's why I'd rather just watch Sentai anniversary seasons from Laptop while listening Power Rangers soundtrack or British metal bands which inspired Ron Wasserman such as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.
they should have done at least this. Every little bit helps to showcase the different seasons as an anniversary season. Yet, they failed to do even that. There was so much expectation and hype but failed to deliver. THANK YOU for showing a possible alternative future of how these episodes could have been!
1:28 Who knew a villain like Vilgax from Ben 10 would be on Power Rangers. If he's not going after the Omnitrix He's probably going after the ranger keys.
in gokaiger there's basco; the guy originally have the 6th and extra-ranger keys, and can use them to flat out create clones. obviusly, he's gunning for the other keys
With the Wild Force morph when the helmets went on the rangers I wish they said "Blazing Lion" , "Soaring Eagle", "Surging Shark", "Iron Bison", & "Noble Tiger"
@@unclebrian8156 they wouldn't have been able to do that with the sentai footage if they were going to say the wild force signature line as well, but it would have been cool
1:22 i love the cheap cut they tried to do for Gaorangers since the japanese lettering was supposed to be on screen but it only shows us the bits flying off with no context
I'm really disappointed they skipped the "one with the Kanji face" joke for the Gold Samurai. They could have done it still since they're both called Gold Rangers
I remember watching an episode where they turned into the the samurai rangers and my kid mind was blown as those were the rangers that introduced me to the series
Note: There's no Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers, Zeo, In Space, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force and Operation Overdrive footage in Super Megaforce because the producers skip those Gokaiger tribute episodes or because the footage has no roll call and was in the middle fo fights. This is a full team compilation.
@@ErnestoJara you really should watch Gokaiger, that's the season that reintroduced me to Super Sentai after Dynaman being the first season that I watched in its entirety in the 80s, trust me you'll love it
But I think in the first or early episode of Super Megaforce, when all of them turned red, one of them became Operation Overdrive instead of Megaforce for the Power Rangers version of the scene.
In the Sentai he did not know how to transform (even more so when Gai (Gokai Silver) specifies the key he has to give him, which is one with a kanji. But Marvelous (Gokai Red) gives him the key to the King Ranger (Gold Zeo Ranger) because he did not specify clearly what the key to the Shinken Gold (Gold Samurai) was. Obviously Super Megaforce eliminated that comedy scene.
Ya know, if they had added the music from the past ranger seasons when they morphed into them, it could've been better, in fact, if they had take the time instead of rushing and half assing everything this season could've been better, I mean they didn't do in space and Lightspeed rescue, and of course Timeforce, but no, Nick had to split into two seasons, and that was their downfall!
The thing I kept noticing and still can't get it out of my chest is that the toy morphers always looks different than the movie version. And the movie version has labels and parts of the clips that still came from the Japanese version, Kaizoku Sentai "Gokaiger". There's a hint of that in around exactly 2:21, where the center of the morpher has "Gokaiger" labeled there.
Not only that they’re the only team in any of the series to only have five because most of them they start with five and one is added or they start with three and two more even free more is added
@@letsdothis7810 Not at all. Well, except for the Disney seasons (probably). Saban still got all the music rights for the Saban Era seasons. Unless Saban also bought the Disney Power Rangers seasons music, no music from Disney Era can be used by Saban at the time.
Today i rewatched it after so many years not watching Power Rangers Mega Force i like their legendary mode rangers, i grew up with Power rangers Samurai, i watch it on one of our local tv channels sunday morning memorable moment in my life.😁 6:17
One of my biggest pet peeves of Megaforce is when they morphed into past teams we never heard any of the theme songs and don't tell me it was a copyright issue because the one good thing Saban did when he bought Back power rangers is that he bought back the rights to all the seasons even the ones he did not even create so that also includes the theme songs
Nope. At least that blunder happened during Disney's Era. Disney did not buy the rights to the MMPR music because that was not directly under Saban himself. In this case, it's just pure laziness.
