The final use of the MMPR powers and how they switch over to the Thunder Power. How I would have changed the powers in Season 2 after using up the remaining Zyu2 footage.
This would've been great, here's what I imagine as a 2-parter. After Turbanshell fails, Zedd tires of Rita and banishes her, giving no more chances and he creates his most powerful monster yet, Pipebrain. Since Tommy lost all of his powers, they can't call the Ultrazord anymore, but Pipebrain easily handles the Megazord and shrugs off its Power Sword finisher. Pipebrain blasts the Megazord hard enough to knock it apart and depower the Rangers, then destroying them. Then Zedd kidnaps all the Rangers, or at least tries to but Jason gets away, forces them to touch the wax, and drains their powers. Jason gets there to rescue them but it's too late, the candles have all burned down and he's the only one left with powers. They escape but it's a pyrrhic victory. Now even more helpless against Pipebrain, and with no powers to teleport, Billy takes the Radbug (making its last appearance) to the Command Center, Zordon tells them that they need new powers, and they can use Jason's power coin and what's left of their old power coins to create the new Thunder powers. Then after Zordon explains, Kimberly asks about Tommy and Zordon says something cryptic that foreshadows White Light. Jason gets his powers first since his power coin is intact, so he fights Pipebrain alone at first, then the other Rangers are powered up. Zedd grows Pipebrain. Zordon's only finished the Red Dragon Thunderzord for now so they have to use it and then they do so and win. And then the second episode could be the with Pursehead, and then the third one with Lipsyncher. Then things continue as we know them with Trumpet Top and Mirror Maniac before White Light happens. And the Halloween episode could involve Doomstone instead of Pumpkin Rapper (although if it were up to me, Pumpkin Rapper's zord battle would've remained intact in the original episode).
They could had used the Dairanger suits as a enhancement mode like how they used the Gokaiger suits for Super Megaforce while still keeping the Zyuranger suits. Also this how they can use the Zyuranger suits for the American footage while switching to the Japanese footage for the Dairanger suits and mechas. They could also shoot some American footage with the Dairanger suits as well if this happened.
It didnt work with MegaForce it wouod not have worked then. They should have just give them the power like how they did with Ninjor and the Ninja powers.
@@angeluss28 the difference is that the Dairanger suits would be a form of armor while in Super Megaforce the Gokaiger suits were used as a way to transform into past Ranger teams. It would had worked as a way to not get rid of the Zyuranger suits while also using the Dairanger suits.
@@RedPolarBearRangerI had this very same idea, although how would you explain Zack changing to the green colour though. I also thought if they wanted a new megazord early like they did in season 2, they could have just used the thunder zord for the finishing move as that is almost always stock footage anyway, apart from the first times they use them. Use the already filmed footage of dinozords wearing down the monster like robogat, etc just before. I would have just left all the original formula with the rangers and zord battles intact but that would be a way to have had both, just like the ranger suits instead of one.
The Dairanger Sendai is really great, and they should have fully integrated the new suits instead of the Zyranger suit continuation. We lost so much good footage.
@@buhe1 it was toy sales from the original mmpr at the time. They were going to make the switch but the original suits were still making huge amount of sales so they wanted to keep those suits and just use the zords
cmlmonstar 007 In last episode of Dairanger, Mondo the Magician became a terra-cotta as his siblings did in episode 48 (Zaidos after KOed by Thunder Ultrazord) and Gara (Episode 49) after a battle with Shishi Ranger and Houou Ranger.
This seriously could’ve worked! The rangers coulda use the dairanger suits as a power up to control the thunderzords... and use the regular suits when battling regular monsters
Yeah. A lot of people keep talking about Gokaiger being integrated into Super Megaforce but I didn't like that too much... But Samurai and Ninja Steel (didn't like that one much tho) did add extra armor on to them while in the Megazord, and they could use it in battle too. I would have liked to see something like that when I was a kid (of course I watched this show on Disney, because I was born in 2002)
It's a shame the Dairangers suit were never adapted in the Second Season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers just like the White Ranger & Thunderzords back then because the other five rangers would have been stronger against Lord Zedd. And to be honest their Dinosaur theme suit never really match with and the Thunderzords Chinese mythology theme don't go well together anyway so I really don't understand what the writer of the Series were thinking when they were making the Second Season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Evidently, Saban was afraid to change the suits cause the show was so popular and they were the face of the brand. Still, when the three actors were fired a few episodes later, it probably caused more of a drop in ratings than the suit change would have. So he sort of shot himself in the foot either way, and we missed out on having some cool new action figures.
Honestly it would line up with a story that they can't use the old Megazord. Then when they were given the Thunder Powers only Jason has the Dragonzord or at least Zordon knows where it is. Then the rest of the story is finding the other Megazords for the other Rangers. Then bringing back Tommy as the White Tiger Ranger later on. What a wasted opportunity there. Dairanger is my favorite Sentai series....
I like to think these powers do exist since we see the used in Super Megaforce, in my head canon, Zordon created these powers as a back up if the rangers ever permanently list their powers, But they only lost their Zords, not their powers, the Dino Zords were too badly damaged to function normally, so Zordon upgraded them to be able to transform into the new Thunder Zords, by using the Dino Zords as the base, this allowed the Thunder Zords to be compatible with the Rangers first power set, unfortunately they eventually lost both their power AND the Thunder Zords, thus Zordon sent them to find Ninjor and gain now Ninja Power Coins wich were the origin of the Alien Ranger's ninja powers, by tying the old powers to the ninja coins, this allowed them access to their old powers as well as command of the long dormant Ninja and Shogun Zords, eventually they lost these new powers too, but had a fresh resart b using the Zeo Crystal as a source for the Zeo powers.
I do think Megaforce overused the "new powers" a bit but I was happy to see Dairanger finally appear in Power Rangers. My idea is an episode where the Rangers siphon excess power from the White Ranger and Magna Defender keys to synthesize a whole new team.
Here's how I think it should've been done. Lord Zedd takes over and creates a monster that destroys the Dinozords and strips the Rangers of their powers. Zordon sends them on a journey for a new power source, the Thunder Gems. Along the way, Goldar, along with Zedd's new foot soldiers (Dairanger's Cotpotros) capture Tommy and lock him in the Dark Dimension. The Rangers find the Thunder Gems but discover that there are only 5 gems. Zordon tells them Lord Zedd has the White Tiger Thunder Gem, just as Rita had the Green Ranger Power Coin, and has Tommy trapped in the Dark DImension. Lord Zedd has plans to make Tommy evil again. Billy reopens the portal to the Dark Dimension and Jason goes in to save Tommy. Jason fights Goldar, who drops the White Tiger Thunder Gem. Jason picks it up and runs through the portal with Tommy. They return safely to the Command Center and Tommy becomes the White Ranger. Jason, Trini, and Zack get chosen for the peace conference and Rocky, Adam, and Aisha join the team.
I would love to see you make a video with a proper Kakuranger adaptation. The Thunderzords get destroyed and the Rangers go on the Ninja Quest, but without Kimberly, who decides to pursue gymnastics. The remaining 5 Rangers meet Ninjor and receive the new Ninja Ranger powers. Tommy becomes the Red Ape Ninja Ranger Aisha becomes the White Crane Ninja Ranger Rocky becomes the Blue Wolf Ninja Ranger Billy becomes the Yellow Bear Ninja Ranger Adam becomes the Black Frog Ninja Ranger Lord Zedd and Rita capture the Rangers' new friend Katherine and turn her into, exclusive to American and Kaku2 footage, the evil Silver Falcon Ranger. In the same manner as the Green with Evil saga, the Rangers break the spell and she joins the team.
The Rangers get turned into kids and lose their powers. They call upon the Alien Rangers for help, this time using Jetman footage. Aurico, the Red Hawk Ranger Cestro, the Black Condor Ranger Tideus, the Yellow Owl Ranger Cestria, the Blue Swallow Ranger Delphine, the White Swan Ranger Corcus, the Green Eagle Ranger (Exclusive to American and Jet2 footage)
Yeah, they could've brought in Justin a few years early, maybe as Kim's brother we never got to see. Then the Japanese footage would match better than it did with Tommy.
Not big fan of Dairanger suits and it probably would have been too much change too soon. Wish they had used the Kakuranger suits a lot more though, those were cool and probably long enough later.
Thanks. I have edited 20 entire episodes starting from the beginning of Season 2 using the Zyu2 zord footage and more Rita plots up until the White Light two part episodes but they have all been banned.
I ever made my own fan made Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers series that serves as a transition from Season 2 to Season 3 with Dairanger suits where the heroes with Dairanger suits consist of a husband-wife couple with two sons in law and three daughters in law titled Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Mertua vs Menantu (Malay for Parents in law vs Sons/Daughters in law) and this fan made mini series is those new rangers were controlling the normal rangers' Thunderzords whereas the normal rangers were on their trials to get the Ninja Talismans which would be converted to Ninja Power Coins by Ninjor in the end of this fan made series thus this fan made series serves as pre-Season 3 and took place between A Friend in Need and Ninja Quest. This my fan made series also contains the sombrero wearing Birdcage Bandito monster from Dairanger and also recycled some of the MMPR Season 1 and Season 2 monsters due to unused Dairanger footages having mechas/zords remain a few. Also, the parents in law vs sons/daughters in law rangers' powers were also originated from Ninjor.
What a shame that Saban didn't adapt the Dairanger suits except White Ranger...yet the Rangers already do martial arts! And that was the theme of both Dairanger and MMPR
This is how I would've explained these suits existence others pointed out so the Dairanger suits could've been a Thunder enhancement the MMPR were supposed to access let's say to unleash the true potential of the Thunder Megazord or something. Anyway they needed Tommy back so Zord backtracked into merging these powers together with let's say the dead Green Ranger power coin (therefore the Green Ranger Tommy clone plot would have to be rewritten and say the Green Power coin was a replica) turning it into the White Ranger power coin therefore Tommy had all the Thunder Mode power in one new Ranger form. So when Megaforce comes along I'd write so Troy attempted to use the White Ranger Key while he and his team were using the MMPR powers, and due to this power being meant to be used by that sixth Ranger it caused a chain react that split the Thunde Mode powers that made it up into the 5 rangers finally granting the MMPR powers, Thunder Mode. Therefore no need for Dairanger keys as the powers will be part of the MMPR keys and you could have so Gosei melds the White Ranger power with the Green Key key granting the Green Ranger powers Thunder Mode.
They were worried about them looking too different. That's why Tommy was the only one with a Dairanger suit. The White Ranger looked close enough to the Zyuranger suits.

Saban had all the rights from Toei to use the Dairanger suits and footage. Saban had access to it ALL but was a greedy bastard. I've seen interviews with the cast and their experiences with Saban. He was a tyrant on set and greedy af when it came to royalties and also he could've easily used the Dairanger suits and footage. They are in my opinion one of or they best Sentai/Ranger suit designs!

They already used the Dairanger monsters,zords and white tiger suit for Tommy. So they could've gone the extra mile and used the rest of the Dairanger suits. Zordon did say if I recall what the rangers currently had may not be enough to defeat Zedd, so say if the first monster Zedd sent out destroyed the Dino megazord and the rangers current powers, Zordon could of done something like I dunno send the rangers out to get the Dairanger powers kind of like what was done in season 3 when getting the ninjetti powers
This is pretty much what I've always thought they should have done, fashion the back half of the Zyu2 footage into a loose arc leading up to the big power switch.
Ok they couldn’t have used it for them all when the crew was basically the same but why didn’t they do the transition when the rangers had to switch out three members anyway maybe as well have done a new squad at that point
My thoughts exactly, leave the original suits for the original Rangers. Give the newbies new suits since they're already different. It would've been a win-win.
Ok so...who would've volunteered to explain a/ to Zack how he would've ended up changing to green and b/ to Tommy why he couldn't be green no more??? All that said...I would've loved to see the Dairanger adaptation for S2 myself.
I would have put it as: Zack is the last one to receive the Thunderzord Power, and Lord Zedd attacks the base which heavily damages Zack's coin and prevents the power of thunder from transferring. Knowing that his own power coin is losing power and that he won't be able to use a Thunderzord, he offers to transfer most of the remaining power from his power coin to repair Zack's, which drains his heavily and gives him even less time (to the point he limits himself to extreme situations and megazord fights). The power transfer turns Zack's power green as a result, but only with Tommy's blessing does he adopt the moniker of the Green Ranger.
Zordon: Ah Zack there's a simple explanation for that. The reason being *Cue monster attack* (And then Zack never found out why he is the green ranger)
Imagine if this was used after Turban Shell ep and 4 of the rangers changed but used the Dairanger suits. As for Tommy, he’d have his own ep called Trial of the White Ranger where he must fight a number of trials to get the white ranger powers.
If they had done a super megaforce style power up where they transitioned from dino to thunder power whe they needed the energy boost they could have used both set of suits. Heck have these as the metallic armour suits.
They already used the Zords and White Ranger, I don't know why they didn't want these suits. Seems like Saban would've loved the money from new merchandise. If anything Rocky and Adam could've wore these with the new crew, and the old Rangers could've wore the OG suits for a crossover.
I can see why they didn't use the suits. Aside from merchandising and continuity issues, they're just too... Japanese looking? And the Yellow Ranger isn't exactly petite! I love Dairanger, though.
Eh it was sheer laziness on the part of Saban, you had so many different things being introduced by the 2nd season, not to mention you already had a lot of obvious Japanese elements thrown in, adding the Dairanger suits wouldn't have harmed the "brand recognition." Saban was just lazy at this point in time, which is odd considering what a cheapskate he was, he could have easily bought the Dairanger suits and saved money by not having to pay for Zyu2 footage.
Oh my god!!! My Dairenjaaaa!!!😭 I still wonder to this day if there was another soul in the 90s (outside of Japan, of course) who also knew of Gosei Sentai DAIRENJAAA!!! Everyone around me just knew MMPR, and the thunderzords and white ranger tommy....that's it. Dairenjaa and I were pretty lonely back then. But a precious kind of lonely, I guess! 🤫
He was too cheap at the time to use all of them during mighty morphin season 2 he didn’t want to change the word power to thunder during season 2 and ninja during season 3 but changed the word power to alien for the alien ranger mini series
It could have been cool but would have really been way too risky, as a kid I was pretty open to change even I would have probably been offput by just 1 year into the show whole new set of costumes as well as Zords (as opposed to just a new, pretty similar set of Zords and just 1 new costume).
I think the change of suits wouldn't be too jarring with the same actors playing the roles. If they changed everything, like later seasons, after a year I could see this happening.
