__________________________________________________________________
The Fryette Power Station® - a new amplifier attenuator and re-amplification solution, offering players intuitive and precise control over amplifier volume, distortion behavior and a wide range of highly refined tonal qualities previously unavailable from any single attenuating or re-amping product.
Built on decades of experience producing the finest all-tube power amps available, the Power Station is a practical and highly functional tool that solves problems frequently encountered in live playing and recording environments. It beautifully accentuates the inherent qualities of any amplifier and allows your amplifier to breathe and dynamically respond to your playing technique the way a great guitar amp should. The Power Station is designed to be transparent, user friendly, reliable and ultra-responsive to a wide array of guitar amplifier and speaker types. It also integrates seamlessly with any combination of internal and external speaker configurations.
The Power Station also excels as a power booster, something that no other attenuator can do. Just as you would connect a big amp to reduce output volume, the Power Station can also be used to boost the output of a small amplifier. Imagine taking your mini-amp or small vintage combo to a gig and having enough power to be heard without sacrificing feel and tonal quality. It is not only possible, but easy and fun!
Finally, your Power Station functions as a versatile silent reactive load for direct recording by simply connecting the Balanced or Unbalanced Line out to your recording interface.

hey! is it ok to have both a modeler plugged in into the line input and an amp into the amp input at the same time (provided that only one of these devices is turned on at a time)

Very informative, thank you! But... I do also wonder, if you're running effects in the loop, is the line out before those effects or after?
@hydeane
@hydeane Год назад
I run the line out to a mixer that is running into my computer for recording and unfortunately, the recordings do NOT have the effects that I am running in the loop of the power station😞 so I would say before. It would be nice if the effects were on the recordings as I hoped it would work that way when I purchased mine. Maybe Fryette can add to this comment to clarify this and to say if there is some way to make it work!
@Robstafarian

This is explained in the video. The line out is fed by the reactive load which receives the power from an amplifier: without an amplifier connected to the reactive load, the line out does not have a source.
@AchillesWrath1

@@hydeane Well that sucks. So it basically makes the effect loop useless on the power station unless you mic your cab and record that way instead of directly into an interface with the line out?
@turbinexman

In addition to the amp input, could you run a pre- amp (ADA MP-1foe example), at the same time, and run an A/B/Y foot switch, to foot switch between the two, or both at the same time? For example, the ADA MP-1 has a built in chorus, which sounds great clean, and use the pre-amp, as your clean channel, and even run them both at the same time, to utilize the built-in chorus of the ADA pre- amp? Thanks.

When using the line out I understand it's not affected by the presence and depth controls. As I'm getting the sound I want with these via my cab, what can I use in my DAW, perhaps pre-cab emulation, to get the line out sound to be similar? Is it as simple as adding an EQ? If so what kind of frequencies, Q, etc?
@FryetteAmps
@FryetteAmps 8 месяцев назад
Try Self Attenuation Mode. That will allow you to send the PS power amp behavior - including the functions of the Presence and Depth controls - back into the Amp In, and therefore the Line Out. See: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xfZtYbUwDZA.html

When you leave an amp connected to the amp in and a cable connected to the line at the same time on the power station can you still use the line out XLR when you are using your real amp instead of the modeler? What I am doing is trying to hook up all the jacks I need for every scenario to the power station to avoid having to go back behind it to rewire stuff.
@FryetteAmps
@FryetteAmps Год назад
Connecting to the LINE IN and the AMP IN at the same time will interrupt the signal from the AMP IN to the power amp stage. You need a AB Box to switch between the head and a preamp to prevent that interrupt.

Steven and Joe, In my studio can I have the Power Station line input pugged into a patch bay for the times I want to use per-se a modeler while still having my speaker out of my amp plugged into the amp in on the Power Station and have the speaker out of the Power Station to a load box such as OX, Captor X or a regular speaker cab? Oh and if I have a line out XLR plugged into the Power Station and the other end plugged into a patch bay for use when its tapping my real amps output at the Power Stations amp input? I want to be able to do multiple things without having to reach behind the unit every time. I am also planning on buying a KHE ACS 8X4 amp switcher and run the Power Station through its S line send and its S-line return. Please advise.

@Skoora Год назад
I can confirm from personal use with my own patchbay that yes, you can leave the line In connected on a bay to use when you want while maintaining the AMP IN connection for Attenuation. I have a preamp plugged into my patchbay and when I want to use it I just run a jumper from Preamp OUT to PS2 Line IN and away I go.

@@braxal6983 My Apologies, I was not hooking up the patchbayy like I thought I was. I wasn't leaving Line In connected at all times. When I double checked it today, it actually did not work. It severely decreases the level you can hear when the amp is being attenuated. It looks like connecting the jack makes the unit decide which will feed the power amp. I would say your option is to leave the patchbay connected but have the cable ready to go, unplugged, at the PS2 end when you want to use it.

Great Video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joe. I have a question. ON the FRYETTE website you sell COLOR CODED speaker cables for the POWER STATION. are these standard speaker cables or necessary for the use of the PS-100 ???????? THX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@FryetteAmps
@FryetteAmps Месяц назад
Standard speaker cables are usually 18ga. "Heavy Duty" cables are usually 16ga. Our cables are 14ga for maximum power handling capacity from the amp to the Power Station, and maximum fidelity from the Power Station to your cab.

I think people get confused because the Line In is really not functionally related to the Line Out. The Line In is really for any input that is not an Amp (except if an amp has a separate line out) In many ways the Line Out is more like a ‘Direct Out’ from the power amp.

Will the line out work for sending to effects for a wet rig or re-amping (in stereo) a loaded down amp?
@bvanhoosen
@bvanhoosen 4 месяца назад
So you theoretically could JUST use the tube power amp section (NOT the reactive load/attenuator) and then go into a SEPARATE reactive load box from the PS speaker out if you wanted to then, right? Did I understand all of that correctly 😅

@@mikesedee7814 after doing a bit more research, I believe the answer is “yes” - you’re effectively bypassing the reactive load at that point and just using the power amp.

@@bvanhoosen Thanx for coming back to this. 👍👍 Are you sure the attenuator is bypassed when using the speaker out? Would make sense if the speaker out has the attenuated signal including the two channel route. But this is just my guess.
6 месяцев назад
Does it mean the reactive load is somehow still operating even if the Fryette is in bypass mode since the Line out is still providing a signal in this mode? With the Fryette turned off, do I get the same Line output sound with either the amp load going to the cab (bypass mode with cab attached) or going to the internal reactive load (silent mode with no cab attached)? Sorry I’m still a bit confused 😊. Thank you 🙏
@FryetteAmps
@FryetteAmps 6 месяцев назад
The Line out taps off of the Amp In jack, which is connected to your amps output. So it will operate whether you use a cab or the internal load and in Operate or Bypass mode.

it wont damage the PS or the amp, PS is meant to handle tube amps so anything otherwise would be an easy task and the solid state power amp is going to be a lot less moody. id say you should be fine.
