There is actually one restriction to AFO's ability. If the original user's quirk factor is damaged, the stolen power is useless. Doesn't make sense, because his body doesn't have, let's say, no hands. But that's the explanation.

Somehow, Kurapika *SPOILERS* ...has become the best example of a protagonist that can steal powers. Plenty of conditions that are hurting him, but he's singlehandedly affecting the outcome of the Succession War by making more powered allies.

The thing about All For One is that certain powers he didn't take was because when it comes to Quirk selection, he's kind of a lazy bum. During the Kamino Incident All For One noted that Best Jeanist's Fiber Control was incredibly powerful, but only because Best Jeanist put in the years of training needed to hone it. When given a choice between a single powerful Quirk that takes a long time to master or a large number of individually weaker Quirks that when combined are greater than the sum of their parts, All For One will select the latter every. Single. Time.

Very well put together video, i totally agree with the point that if you introduce a power to a fight that counters an ability it needs to be foreshadowed. However i actually think this should be with powers in general not just power stealing abilities.

I have to disagree with your take on the Pucci boiling water thing. The *point* of that is that it's an unsatisfying and abrupt conclusion. Pucci is kind of a foil to Diavolo. Diavolo believed he could escape fate with his Stand, so fate punished him infinitely using Giorno's death loop as a vector to do so. Pucci's entire plan was to enforce fate across the universe even more than it already was, so fate rewarded him by giving him a deus ex machina. Fate is an actual force in JoJo that explicitly exists for every character. With the exception of Tooru and post-Go Beyond Gappy (and *maybe* post-Requiem Giorno), it's very clear that fate is supposed to be both deterministic and biased. It feels like a deus ex machina for Pucci to have that ability, because it literally *is* a deus ex machina in universe meant to reward him.

In fanon mha, its commonly seen that Afo can't handle 'newer, more powerful' quirks, because the quirk singularity is apparently a thing and his body is from the old generation. A shame canon didn't even bother with an explanation for him jobbing.

Explaining how Kenny survived the black hole. A couple things we need to know. Curse technique lapse amplifies the curse technique making it stronger think gojo’s lapse blue compared to his normal blue Domains increases curse energy output to 120%. The body is a domain. This is why characters who can spawn things can’t spawn things inside their opponents. It’s also why character have an inner world. Think Sukuna and Yuji. Domain expansions are taking this inner world(innate domain) and bringing it into reality So Kenny’s technique allows him to control gravity. When the black hole starts opening Kenny uses his Ct lapse to amplify his curse technique then he uses his body as a domain to bring that amplified curse technique to 120% this allowed him to resist the pull of the black hole. As his gravity technique is negating the black holes pull.

My issue with AFO is that we never even get any examples of the quirks he has. All he ever does is conjure up some amalgamation in a "Random Bullshit! Go!" way. It's boring and unimaginative. He'd be much cooler if he actually showed quirks separately.

Not to justify how AFO does it, but if i recall its explained that because AFO is of the first batch of quirks that appeared, it is "relatively simple", and because of the quirk singularity theory, quirks become more complex after each generation, to the point that AFO can't steal them anymore after a certain point, I think it was mentioned during the star and stripe fight that with the improvements in Shigaraki's body, he would be able to take New Order

Part 6 JJBA SPOILERS I hated how FF died, because I loved her character and her outlook on life. That being said, it's shown multiple times how Pucci has seemingly random stands that Dio gave to him or he found naturally. He comments on this with the stand survivor. Furthermore, when he just so happens to have the stand that boils water, he comments on how it must have been fate for him to have the exact thing he needed in that situation. Given how we learn in part 6 that fate is canon, it actually felt very deliberate-and maybe even good forshadowing-for Pucci's plan to go off without a hitch when all the odds were against him. If this weren't the case, then my boy Weather could have survived too.

My favorite take on this trope is from Choujin X (spoilers) One of the two deuteragonists, Ely, has the ability to steal powers from other characters. The way that powers in this series work is that "choujin" (literally translates to "superhumans") have powers born from some deepseated complex of theirs. Ely's late mother was a notorious thief and murderer who terrorized her homeland, and Ely grew up terrified of the idea that she would one day follow in her mother's footsteps, which is ultimately what gave birth to her abilities. Now, because of Ely's complex surrounding her mother, she only ever uses her power stealing abilities when she absolutely needs to, and even then she'll almost always give her opponents back their powers so as not to become a "thief" like her mother was. It's one of the rare instances where this ability is actually used as a symbolic motif for the character's personality, which I really love.

Just to say it, the stand Discs need to be compatible with the users in order to be actually usable

A few things, Chrollo acquired the powers from the Hisoka fight in the year of prep time he got. And as for Pucci, when he gives you a stand disk, compatibility or lack there of determines if you can even use it

The Mad Magpie Strikes Back

One version of the power stealer that I think is really well done: Iwah from the Hero Killer Manwa. She has 2 versions of the ability with their own strengths and restrictions. The first is she permanently gains another character's power after she's killed sed character. She must deal the final blow, if they are killed by another, kill themself, or somehow survive the fight then she can only use the second option. The second she can use another character's power only once if she's touched sed character. She uses these one off powers to save herself in when she gets into tough fights. However there are greater restrictions to both versions of the power stealing. First is she has a limited amount of est (the basically magic of the setting,) meaning there's a limit to how many powers she can steel including the one off powers. If she tries to take to many she will get sick or could even die. The other limit is her own skill with the power is not always the same as the original user. She's always shown to be training with her permanent powers, finding new ways to use and improve upon them. But her one of powers are often shown to be weaker than the original user.

Maybe it’s just because I keep running into bad examples, but I dislike when one of the main cast or main characters have power stealing powers.

I think it would be worth talking about protagonists with power stealing ability, because there situation even worse. There are few of such stories that are entertaining, but I won't call them good.

about kenjaku, The technique on his domain expansion he uses is from itadori's mother and it was basically increase gravity to the target and he just reversed the technique when fighting against the black hole

I believe one of the reasons all for one can’t steal new GEN powers because they’re just too complicated or required too much to be put into it to actually get any use like he’s not gonna steal momo‘s quirk no matter how overpowered it is because it require years of studying when he could just get a bunch of different powers that don’t require that and get the same effect permeation also took years of training to be just manageable him not getting overhaul is actually a very broad question as he did have access to it for a while before he was locked up, but I wouldn’t put it past him to leave powers open so that they could either have kids to create better power Or be in strategic locations either get out of later date after they for for fill a rule and by the time he would’ve had a second chance to get overhaul,, he was already in state where he was gonna go kill himself and take over a different body why still potentially very valuable cork in a body that’s gonna disappear when you could just steal it in the other one and he also probably wanted to be make sure he was the one in control before taking it keep in mind the key is a straight up clone of it just with destruction instead There’s also very much possibility that as the course for passed on, became too complicated and into working for his first GEN quirk to fully comprehend and get all the required parts has more powerful variant stored away in his back pocket Or just has enough of them that that’s some very potential powers just look through the cracks as he is known going for simple powers as not to have to train a shit ton every goddamn quirk and when you have a few thousand of them or even just a few, hundred you’re not gonna want to do that you can just get one and do the same thing He does have limits, especially after being injured. I don’t understand what so bad about Pucci having a stand that can boil water. Just because it’s a perfect counter? It’s already established that Pucci has a wide variety of stands so I don’t think it’s that unsatisfying or unbelievable.

The thing about Kenjaku is Not every curse has a CT, 99% of his million curses are Below Grade 1, which Only leaves like 20 or so with a cursed technique, Grade 1's and Special Grades

I can explain how Kenjaku survived to the black hole It's a combination of the fact that the black hole was being purposely held back by Yuki as to not injure tengen and him using reverse curse technique to turn gravity manipulation into anti-gravity manipulation. He just used it at maximum output to not get pulled into the black hole. Until Yuki died and the technique ran out.

AFO not stealing Overhaul? He couldn't. The only sample of Overhaul he had he [REDACTED DUE TO SPOILERS, you'd know if you read the final bout] and he wouldn't have known about the second coming of Overhaul due to being in Tartarus and Shigaraki getting rid of Overhaul's ability to use his quirk again after losing to Deku. Shigaraki would have no reason to tell AFO about the quirk due to his disdain for the user, thus he'd be under the impression that Overhaul is just a quirkless guy with mental trauma of some sort. AFO didn't steal Kurogiri's teleportation because Kurogiri was a Nomu programmed to serve the league of villains and under his command by extension. Just like Gigantomachia, AFO had absolute authority over them, so he had no thoughts that they'd end up set-backs in his plans. The reason why he didn't try to take Erasure again is because his quirk would either get disabled before he got the chance to steal it, literally EVERYONE around him would take care to ensure it doesn't happen, or because he literally doesn't have *EYES...* That and also the fact that [REDACTED DUE TO SPOILERS, but DW since it's coming to the anime soon]. Stars and Stripes? You know what happens. Endeavor's Fire quirk? We saw how that went. Todoroki's Half-hot Half-Cold? He'd need to get past Endeavor first, assuming he'd even want it considering how he views Bakugou and his quirk as gold-fish poop. One For All? Did you watch the show? Nine's ability is just AFO's but weaker. Cell-Activation? Horikoshi would need to work the movies into the manga first, which he wouldn't be able to do since he directly said that "The movies are stories I'm not able to write into the manga" (not the exact quote but is close enough) even though they're canon to the story. Any other OP quirk either belongs to a villain already dealt with, working with AFO already, someone dead, or someone AFO has no reason to go after due to not hearing about it. The only characters AFO has control over relating to heroes is Aoyama and a few civilians, none of these characters have confidential-levels of intel, so they wouldn't have information on EVERYTHING the heroes know. IDK why I went on this whole ass tangent defending AFO but, here it is.

All for ones can steal unlimited quirks(idk I think don’t quote me on that), but the limitation is rather because his body can’t handle the stronger quirks the new generation offers

Kenjaku actually used his gravity CT against Choso. So, there was foreshadowing that he can use gravity CT.

I think Crolo is a perfect example, its complicated to balance how powerful it is and he needs to be smart with it, Pucci is great since he can't even really use the stolen stands on himself

My favorite power stealer is Sylar from Heroes. He had to study the power he wanted to steal (originally by fatally removing and studying the victims brain), thus slowing down his power steal ability. Plus, his ability also gave him a perfect understanding of his new powers, so he always had maxxed out abilities with it, so it ultimately made him a good antagonist without making him so overpowered that he couldn't be beaten (for instance, he was never able to catch or kill a time manipulator, so his most OP powers were telekinesis and regeneration, as well as the fact his original power has uses other than power stealing.)

Where in Kenjaku's case given both those fight were overall planned beforehand... It made sense they send the two people able to ignore the contributions of the Cursed Spirits from the fight.

My way of dealing with power stealer is in fact a consequence of how I deal with having multiple powers in general. Its unstable to have multiple powers in my world. Why? Because most power are concepts(usually 1-2 words), so the way the concepts interact with eachother can create dangerous and unpredictable effects if done wrong. In fact my powers being concepts is a way for both superpowers and magic be part of the same power system, the difference between a SuperHuman and a Wizard is that a SuperHuman has 1 or 2 fixed words that they can manifest but in a very powerful way, while a Wizard's uses spells with incantations that use a very small power from each word to create an elaborate effect. So explaning again, having multiple powers basically makes you like a Spell Book, but you dont really know which spells are written in it, and the more powers you have the more unpredictable your powers become. I have an example witha Character that has only 2 powers, but he does not know he has any, but they are always active. He has 2 very strong powers, but having both makes so that he cannot use either, he is a joke character. -Power 1: if he touches X type of person he then can create numerous replicas of that person that will all be under his control -Power 2: he applys "rules" to the gravitational field of the planet, this "rules" can reverse it, applify it, change its direction and more, they also can be global or localized. Power Combination unknown to him: A new "rule" is create where that X type of person will experience reversed and amplified gravity in all of the planet. Yeah, this character is responsible for millions of death just because the 2 powers he has. But his existent also allows some weird things to happen: -Like if you make a person become X for a limited amount of type, you could make them have superJump/flight. And of course I do it.

I have a deep hatred of how the main characters, in a world of really cool powers, just punch hard, it's just so boring

All For One does have a limit, and its how Quirks work. For one, basically every ability in the verse requires training to bring out its full potential, and while All For One might be a great planner and manipulater, he is absolutely shit at self-improvement and will never actually put in the time to master his powers, nor would he have time to do it to all of them. So he collects strong quirks that are easy to use while dismissing difficult but awsome Quirks. Secondly, Quirks and their strength are tied to emotions, which All For One can't take advantage of because he's a natural psychopath. He will never awaken any of his quirks nor can he have a plus Ultra moment of pushing past limits to draw out a quirks full strength, at least until his final fight when Shigaraki's hatred infected him, and that ultimately backfired on him when he lost control of them. I feel like 4/10 is harsh. You did put combining abilities as sonething to do and that's literally his whole thing. And outside of his battle with Stain he never does the "pull a power out of my ass to counter somebody" move, and that one was foreshadowed by All For One being aware of Stain escaping alongside him but refusing to join his forces, so be prepared a backup plan.

In a story like JoJo pucci was severely underutilized for his powers. We really only see him give people powers despite some broken abilities, and then he moves onto C moon and stuff, so you forget he even steals power. Id love to see in part 9 or something a user who appears mid series, steals some of the already known characters powers and uses them in some super creative way like chrollo.

curse spirit manip is more balanced than it seems. the prerequisite for manipulating a curse is defeating it so it would be difficult to get curses stronger than you especially ones with op techniques. also, if you want to use the curse technique yourself you need to use it in a maximum Uzumaki after that it's gone forever.

Kenny was foreshadowed as stealing other CTs. He took over yujis mom and geto to gain there cts its dumb to ignore that foreshadowing.

What should have been done was a flashback to when Kenjaku got beaten for the first time by a user of the 6 Eyes and Limitless. He would have put a massive plot into finding and hijacking a body with spatial techniques capable of counteracting other spatial techniques. While it ultimately fails because of some wild aspect of 6 Eyes being hax, it succeeds against the spatial technique of Yuki. That would be how to do it properly.

I think you should have mentioned Keven 11 from ben 10 cause his story kinda goes into how these powerstealers are when they hold on to these powers for a long,long time and other things they can absorb,rocks,trees,electricity,and DNA.

What's great about Chrollo's ability is that the number of simultaneous abilities he can use is restricted. He can't just throw the entire arsenal at his opponents, he has to be selective about which powers he uses and when.

If we wanna super extra. Technically, we saw kenny use anti-grav during shibuya right after gojo was sealed.

While I mostly agree on the point with Pucci and F.F., I will say that it makes sense in the confines of the story. We know that Pucci is a tactically sound individual, who can make and follow elaborate plans, as well as think quickly and fix things when they deviate from said plan. The thing is, *he* is the one who gave F.F. sentience in that manner, and also knows how their powers work. He's the one who made them the way they are. Pucci's not stupid, either; bro knows there's a chance of the allies he created potentially turning on him. I think it would be entirely logical, and even expected, that Pucci would have had a countermeasure in place already to deal with F.F. in the event of them betraying and turning against him. While it is a bit sudden, it at least makes sense, given the relationship between the 2 characters.

All For One doesn't like putting in effort to learn complicated abilities and learns soon enough as well that stealing quirks from newer generations has a bigger toll on his body, hence why Shiggy was given AFO. It's so Shiggy can access newer quirks as the world evolves with stronger and stronger quirks. And why for All For One himself only combines simple quirks so they do more without as much effort in training them. That's why as well, someone who trains the quirks well like Deku can do more with less quirks but the same power stockpile.

for kenjaku, basically his explanation after tanking the black hole was of yuji's mom's cursed technique which he stole when he took her body. Yes they hadn't shown it before, but the whole point of sending in choso first was to force kenjaku to use more than just his cursed spirit manipulation because they knew he had more than one technique, which they thought was gravity because that's what choso forced him to use and that's what his domain was. Where they went wrong was assuming Yuji's mom's technique was gravity, what he was actually using was the cursed technique reversal being gravity. The innate technique was anti-gravity which obv is a counter to an attack that works purely on gravity. Basically they're plan was perfect but they didn't count on him using cursed technique reversal because gojo is pretty much the only person to do that.

I like AFO, he's a villain and that's it. Very simple. Very effective. Demon lord is a good description that even he uses for himself. Also, there are actually a lot of limitations to his quirk, he deliberately avoids complex quirks like the plague, same thing for heteromorphic quirks, his body can't handle the change and his mind can't handle the complexity. Can can make quirk combos but the complexity of it is still a limit, only simple stuff. Also, he almost never thinks of something on the spot, gotta be planned ahead. That's why we only see him using a few specific quirks, the ones he's most familiar with. He barely switches to unseen quirks

you should do a sister video to this about the hero version of this trope, the sometimes temporary sometimes not power steal. Where the hero will usually have a core set of abilities tied to their power steal (eg. Rogue from x-men stealing captain marvels flight and super strength, or Yuta having Rika) and then also a power steal that tends to just be temporary (Rogue with all other power steals, or Monoma from MHA)

Talk about how a lot of the new Shonen powerhouses have composite powers. It seems like everyone has more than 5 abilities lately.

A work of foction that does power stealing really well in my opinion is Lord of Mysteries, it is a chinese webnovel that will soon get an animated adaptation. In it there are 22 Pathways each divided into 10 Sequences from 9 to 0, each giving unique abilities. Among these Pathways there quite a few that allow one to steal or copy the abilities of others. The protagonist's Pathway, at Sequence 5 Marionnetist, gains the capability to turn others into Marionnetes, which keep all of their abilities and are compeltely in his control. While very op i theory this is countered by the fact that it is very hard to find Beyonders at or close enougth to his level to be useful in battles and even harder to turn them into Marionettes instead of jsut killing them through other methods, as the transformation is very slow even on those below him, and it alos leaven himself very vulnerable. Not only that but his limit as a Sequence 5 is very low. It does increse to 50 at Sequence 4 and then keeps multiplying by 10 but it also gets harder and harder to get Marionnets that can be useful at his level outside of revival and projectongg his abilities through them. The Pathway of the main antagonist has stealing as its main ability, and eventually become capable of stealing abilities, but it is based on luck and the difference of Sequences. Its also temporary. Thay are also capable of stealing a whole lot of other things such as bodies, distances, time, fate, lifespan, etc. There is another Pathway that can Record abilities they see but the higher the lvel of the ability compared to them the lower the success rate and the weaker it becomes compared to the real deal. In compensation these Pathways I have mentioned have very little direct combat capabilities for most of the time and the fes they do get requeire extreme preparation and inteligence. There is also another Pathway that at Sequence 5 Sheperd gains the capability to Graze the souls of those thay kill. They however habe a limit on the amount of souls, can only use one at a time and can choose only 3 abilites to take with the soul. Eventually at Sequence 2 they can divide themselves into 3 clines that can each use 3 souls at the same time if I remember correctly and they also can use their own abilites on top of the Grazed souls. Then there is another Pathway that can analyse the abilites of other and simulate them, but we dont get a lit of information on this Pathway. And technically speaking anyone can use the abilites of another Pathway thorugh Sealed Artifacts created when an object absorbs a Beyonder Characteristic insted of a living being, although those have severely weakened abilities when compared to the real Sequence and so have severe negative effects. Some examples are a wooden puppet that slowly turn those around them into Marionettes, but they van be snaped out of it with physical co tact and the puppet can only do this to one persona time, to a quill that can make anything written with it come to be as if it where a story, so long as it is a "resonable development" but it will also try to kill the user through its story as well. Those sealed artifacts are made from Sequence 5 Marionnetist and Sequence 1 Author respectively.

So this video went in a very different direction than I thougjt specifically when talking about Kenjaku. When it comes to Kenjaku and power stealing I thought we would be talking about his body swapping technique not cursed spirit manipulation. If you wanted to talk about cursed spirit manipulation, you should talk about Geto. And better yet when talking about this kind of ability why not Yuta? You're not afraid of spoilers and i would add quite a bit to the conversation (also yes jjk has 3 people who use others powers)

I honestly feel like it's unfair to say Kenjaku's anti-gravity was too busted when that same anti-gravity was shown in the story before Yuki's powers. Yuki creates a black hole with a powerset the audience has seen for as long as Kenjaku's gravity powers. Why's only Kenjaku catchjng the heat?

Personally I prefer Pucchi the most. I see most special abilities as basically the same as a persons limbs, so when Pucchi takes away a stand and memories, the person becoming a vegetable just makes sense. Also Chrollo doesn't really steal, more like permanently borrows, since if the owner dies, the ability will disappear.

Another reason Chrollo is a good power stealer is because abilities are not the be all end all of Nen combat. Even if Zeno had his dragon stolen, his first attack cut Chrollo with just his hand. Also Meruem is living proof that you don’t need a Nen ability to be a threat.

Saying Kenjaku is a power stealer for controlling curses is like saying Makima is a power stealer for controlling a hybrid army, or Kabuto is a power stealer through edo tensei

AFO has some interesting quirks (pun not intended) that could've been elaborated on further or otherwise just better written. He has to make contact with the person's body to steal it (I feel like it should be directly skin contact, it genuinely might be and I just wasn't paying attention though), and he cannot steal the person's skill with a quirk meaning he's actually kinda picky about which abilities he takes (preferring raw power over skill-based ones). As far as him using the same abilities over and over I feel like it might be just personal preference for him. TL;DR: AFO has a lot going for him but the writing could've been a lot better

The kenjaku's thing would make more sense if Yuji would have the gravity technique, although gaygay would need to still show that kenjaku can use the techniques of their past bodies, but, if the protagonist doesn't have any innate curse technique, why would one of his parents have one?

Kenjaku doesn't have MILLIONS, a bunch were spawned or came out of hiding from the negativity of all his other curses causing death and fear

Hxh has a plethora of mutli nen ability weilding characters, especially in the ants arc. And most of them just add to the strength of an already powerful character, it doesnt often become a gimmick. I think HXH uses the trope the best.

idk why this goofy clowning AfO, he's the best if not 2nd best of the Power Stealers on the list . Its idiodic to out of context to lay a criticism of why AfO doesn't own every quirk in existence, when we know his reasoning already, he only wants simple quirks, doesn't care for Complex ones. And he can't target ppl like Eraserhead because All Might works at the UA school, directly protecting the Teachers n Kids, all while AfO is on Life Support from nearly dying to All Might before the series even started, this level of stupidity makes me think this guy is lying about his bias n skimmed the whole series to lack this basic info.

kenjaku does not have millions cursed spirits because it would physically impossible to catch and eat millions of ball of cursed energy in short amount of time ...the million of cursed spirit was result of shibyua incident ...and only special grade cursed spirit have cursed techniques...not low grade which only thier are 16 registered .special grade ....and kenjaku have the gravity technique which was technique reversal like gojo 's red .. which was forshadawed only to introduced to counter yuki black hole later by revealing that it was the reversal not the techanique ..real cursed technique was anti gravity ...its like gojo was using red the whole time but in the last uses blue ..as surprised ...

AFO is so stupid because there's several quirks that are essentially a one shot ability (decay, Overhaul, his ability to steal quirks, etc...) all he needs is a quirk to extend his fingers/arms/hands (preferably make them malleable to) and a portal ability and he can essentially one shot anyone. Especially when paired with multiple durability enhancing quirks and any speed enhancing quirks. Plus some other quirks that allow self duplication would stack incredibly well with that making it almost impossible to lose. Also focusing on improving a handful of quirks and adding other supplementary ones rather than just spamming quantity. His quirk choices for fighting All Might are actual garbage too, I could make several quirk combinations of 5-10 (Excluding AFO) quirks that would absolutely destroy All Might especially if given any time to train them. All Physical Build: Muscle Augmentation + Hardening (Kirishima's) + Impact Recoil + Twin Impact + Overclock + Any Extra IF these 5 aren't enough. Muscle Aug, Hardening, And Impact Recoil would defensively put him not super far off of All Might In Durability. Plus Twin Impact And Overclock would arguably put his attack strength above All Might for at least a short Duration. And Overclock should put his speed on par or well beyond All Might's. Essential the battle strategy would be Augmentation, Hardening And Overclock Right Away Hit All Might As Many times as possible using twin impact with each strike until Overclock needs to cool down. If you just slug it out with All Might Impact Recoil will hit All Might and then Twin Impact can be used in conjunction essentially making every punch All Might gets off on AFO 3 Punches to himself (give or take), on top of the overclocked punches which could be faster and Harder (with Twin Impact) than All Might's Punches. Let's be generous to All Might and say it's only 3 All Might Punches worth Per All Might Punch making it so that All Might would essentially have to be 6x more durable (minimum) to not be taken down first (only using 5 Quirks). If you add other Quirks like the 4 Kinetic booster quirks and the several durability enhancing quirks he already has (plus he already has some of the ones I listed), then he could easily defeat All Might, especially because of how they would stack. Fire Power Build: Blue Flame/Cremation (And/Or Hell Flame) + Frost (Could Get 3 copies, And/Or Ice Ply) + Steel (And/Or Hardening) + Whirlwind (And/Or Air Cannon) + Wave Motion. It would only take a combination of Dabi's quirk and any other one to easily defeat Endeavor, Using the main 5 I selected he would Have Dabi's Fire (stronger than Endeavors), enhanced by Whirlwind, with Wave Motion added increasing overall energy output plus in conjunction it could allow for finer control and greater concentration of whirlwind even further amplifying Dabi's Fire. Steel plus Frost would easily counter the overheating/self damaging issues plus allowing for him to build defensive barriers and take some damage. If AFO really wanted he could easily steal Cremation from Dabi, steal ice ply from his lackie, he already has Air Cannon, and then he would just have to kidnap a few UA kids and the Whirlwind guy steal their quirks send them back, go to Endeavors home and steal 3(I believe) copies of frost (he could also potentially steal half hot half cold for added control and power), then entice/trick Endeavor to come fight him 1 on 1, beat him, steal hell Flame, and then he would have 9-10 different quirks that stack to give him more than enough fire power to casually destroy All Might. You could also add the Stock Quirk and have AFO channel his attacks into his mouth (maybe add a quirk to add mouths or sum) and then release the stock bubble thing at All Might in which it gets released in a much shorter time period (increasing the AP of the attack) and multiplying the power of the attack on top of it. Wouldn't be surprised if this combo (with the 11~ quirks) just one shotted All Might. Could also make a build based entirely on hax (Permeation + Overhaul Or Decay + Flight + Etc...) but I'm lazy and don't want to write more.

Another thing afo can do he can mix quirks in his collection hence the giant arm against all might (not saying it changes the ranking I haven't watched JoJo's or hxh I can't comment on it)

Personally, I feel that power stealing characters are a bit of a cop-out. Instead of making a cool ability, you're just repackaging others. This is why HxH gets away with it. Most of the abilities we see that are taken never appear before or after. Often these types of characters either use abilities we see elsewhere or (and this one is just as annoying) they employ a set of abilities that are one-note or specialized to the point of absurdity, but are massively powerful when they are a single tool among many tools. In other words, a power that was made to have been stolen or to win one fight.

This power trope i think is done the best in hxh. Its not all powerful as other with other series. Kurapika,leol,chrollo, Benjamin all use different and unique ways. Afo is the worst when you compare and he has no competence

I'll say and persist saying, AFO is a moron who probably had ton of quirks that could easily defeat his opponents such as All Might but he either tries to defeat him at his punching game or just play with him waiting his rewiding body time. He could steal harder to master Quirks who are powerful and cover the necessity to master them with Intelligence enhancing Quirks and memory Quirks to remember everything. Shigaraki also completely wasted AFO(the quirk).
