turbocobra I just saved up and ordered the 3 piece set of the Igauging digital readouts for the X Y and Z axis. I will do a vid when I install them. :-)
The greenlee combo drill/tap is something I've never seen. I'll have to look those up. Do you know if there is a technique other than milling that will get a parallel side for a piece of aluminum? I have a piece I need to make and I'm not quite sure how to do it.
are you saying that you have one edge that is square and straight, and the other side edge is uneven? The only other thing I an think of would be to scribe a tight line, and sand down to the line very carefully... Thanks Greg!

It's a one timer... I'll see what I can do with my grinder and my files. I think I can get it really close if I take my time. If I mess it up, I'll drop a blank in the mail or call 1800grizzly.
Excellent work Gary, these modifications you are doing do they have specific tools out there already. ..I doubt it..if not have u thought about submitting to USTP....for pattened...I mean u really got some good stuff going on
I'm with Greg I've never seen a drill and tap in one. Since the flutes are much deeper does it clean things out quicker? I'm not sure if it's just the camera but when you did the power tap it looked like there was a little wobble in it.
Yes, your right, either the adapter, or the tap wrench has a good amount of runout in it. I might make another adapter and see if that corrects it. Although, it didn't seem to effect how the tapping worked...
+turbocobra I am trying to drill a hole thru tiny brass pins that go inside locks, you think a metal punch can punch thru the long pins 1/4" brass? is a drill press the best tool? I burned out a drill bit fast using a dremel. the bit came with it so I doubt it was meant to drill brass, what's the best bit to buy for drilling brass?
