In my humble opinion the greatest issue about wars is the fact that there are very powerful people making loads of money out of it, which means they won’t give up easily on that source of wealth. And specifically speaking about America, this is part of their culture. Politicians sell themselves using war and conflict to show how powerful they are. People celebrate the war industry. It is great to see those protests taking place, but do people really want wars to end? 😬

The previous Jupiter-Saturn cycle…. In 1904, the Oxford Women's Suffrage Society (OWSS) was founded. The OWSS was open to men and women and from the outset had strong connections with the University. Its first public meeting was held at Somerville which, in common with the other women's colleges, fostered a strong feminist culture and appears to have started the more militant suffragette cycle.

The other side of the Vietnam war protests was people saw how much WW2 affected their families (WW2 was still within living memory), saw their sons, brothers, friends coming home in body bags and decided this wasn't to be part of their lives. The freedom & education they benefitted from wasn't going to be wasted in overcoming war traumas, they had lives to lead, families to bring into this world etc, etc. Nearly 60 years on the world has moved on but the same dinosaurs remain in government who continue to have the same nonchalant attitudes to the lives of their citizens. Their hypocrisy is breathtaking

Would love to see you dive into saturn/jupiter with respect to the civil rights movement occurring simultaneously to war protests. Selma Bloody Sunday was 7 March 65. MLKs final Selma march was 25 March. These protests marked a turning point for voting rights leading to the Voting Rights Act in August 65. Thanks for all your work!

What about the Uranus-Pluto conjunction in October 1965 (a few months later)? I think that cycle (major revolutions) had a lot more to do with the protests than Jupiter-Saturn. Saturn was at 10 degrees, opposing that conjunction in Virgo. If you look at that cycle, which started on October 9,1965, the protests really picked up steam with the biggest teach-in of 15,000 who marched from the University of California at Berkeley towards the Oakland Army Terminal on October 15, 1965. Saturn at 10 degrees Pisces this year would have triggered that conjunction BUT with Pluto currently in Aquarius, mirroring the energy of the Pluto-Uranus conjunction (Aquarius as Saturn and Uranus), I'd say that energy is also what's contributing to these protests. PLUS, Pluto in Aquarius will trine Uranus in 2026 further compounding the energy from this cycle-and since it's a big cycle, we will feel it years prior. So, I don't think we can say that Jupiter and Saturn are triggering the 1960s as there is a bigger cycle with outer planets playing out.
