It's seriously true though, I bought 3 eastwing hammers that kept getting stolen on jobsites. Finally I saw this pink handled hammer at Walmart with a steel neck like eastwing had and bought it, I still have that hammer 10 years later. I'm an electrician so I didn't need a fancy hammer anyway

Damn. I've owned more than one of these! The harbor freight multi-tool... I had no idea whether I would use a multi-tool loan long-term and that was one of my single-use purchases from harbor freight. As bad as it was, it sold me on the idea of multi tools and I ponied up the money to buy a nicer one.

For me, the most useful power tool I’ve purchased is one I resisted for years, the M12 hex screwdriver. The base, 2401 brushed model. I already had brushless HDD and impact driver, why would I need a much lower powered brushed power screwdriver? Well, I bought one for my wife and kids to use around the house, specifically because it was much lower power and they wouldn’t overdrive fasteners as they probably would using my M12 FUEL HDD or impact driver. I started using it around the house too, and found it’s extremely useful and versatile, and with its mechanical clutch, can be set to not over torque small screws or driving fasteners into plastics and other soft materials. One day, I took it to work…and never brought it back home, so I bought a second one for home, the original is now my most used power tool at work. It sits on the top of my tool bag with a Makita XPS ph2 bit and MagBoost collar on it. The Ph1, T10/T15, and other common driver bits and smaller drill bits are in the bit case right under it.

Recently picked up that tool as it is on sale. Honestly I could use my 12v Makita drill to do the same but being able to pop in the bits makes it so much easier.

Had the opposite experience, used one at a place that provided tools. Other guys didnt like it, too small, no power, etc. For doing small work, its all you need. Changing out ballasts really made that little tool shine. Picked one up used from the local Milwaukee store. Man, perfect little gun for auto interior work, etc
@hmoreno1353

Same here! I bought it more for the batteries that came with it when it was on sale. I was replacing a door latch one day and used my (previously go-to) m12 impact driver. I drove the screw in into the door frame only to strip the hole on the lowest torque setting. After patching up the hole, I wanted to see how the delicate the clutch was on the hex screwdriver. I instantly liked how the tool could be used to finesse the right amount of torque for a specific application. It’s my go to tool now despite having lots of different impact drivers and drills.

I thought a set of those flowery tools would keep my wife out of my tools. They were so pretty that she didn’t want to “mess them up” and she continues to use my torque wrench to pound nails.

Surprisingly even with all the returns the tool department l, sears auto departments, service dept, and kenmore appliances were the parts that kept sears afloat till the end. Clothing, home goods, makeup, etc was what they could no longer compete on. That’s why those brands exist today (all though all sold off to be the cheapest stuff around) but they were the only stuff of value when the doors closed.

Worst tool I can think of buying was a two finger fishtape puller by Klein. It was really a flawed idea from the get go. It didn't have the strength when the going got tough and wasn't necessary when it would work. Of course it's out of production now. A tool (or tool line) I didn't think I would use much was the Milwaukee 12v line. Over time I realized that I didn't need the heavy duty tools 80 percent of the time when doing electrical. These days I make my big holes with the 18v stuff and go back with 12v stuff and do everything else
@jacksmith2315

My brother does hvac with ridgid 18v tools. I tell him all the time, due get 12v. 90% of the stuff u do u can use a much smaller lighter tool for so ur not carrying and use the 18v over your head all day. He wont listen. I bought a 12v brushed dewalt drill n impact 10yrs ago. Gave it to my mom when i got my 18v tools. One day i needed to use the 12v to get into a tight spot, the rest of the project and almost everything ive done since ive used the 12v tools for. Barely ever use 18v anymore unless i need the extra power. The 12v dewalt sit sat unused for years and years. All 3 batteries still work and ive fallen in love with the tools again. I bought them when i worked at BMW before they really had 18v. All the guys there used makita. When i got the dewalt set they were all man why did you get dewalt thats home owner crap. When they tried them they were like wow these grips are actually way more comfortable and they got plently of power. They were like the first curved/pistol grip drill and impact. All the others were still straight handles/grips. These old dewalts are still way more comfortable than new milwaukee

I had and still have the B&D Auto Wrench. It was given to me by a client that I fixed something for him and he said I could have it because he couldn't really find a good use for it. I couldn't either! LOL. The belt drive is not much more than a thick rubber band. Poor design.

I have that wrench! I bought a home that was abandoned and one of the kitchen drawers was filled with that kind of stuff. I was just looking at it last night, thinking “what a piece of $#!+ thing is!!”. Probably the most useful power tool I bought that I thought was stupid was a biscuit joiner. I thought they were useless, but I was doing a large project with lots of 8'X4' picture frame trim so I figured I'd use it that one time. I've used that constantly for the last 20 years. I consider it one the the best tool purchases I've ever made.

My most used tool is the DeWalt DCF601 12v 1/4” Screwdriver w/ the Clutch...it's just incredible how useful it is. It's small and light with bright LEDs. It's powerful enough to drive 4" deck screws and automotive nut driving but also delicate enough for electronic work. The clutch is a god send for repeatable work. Really helps with not over-driving fasteners. Also, when you're not pulling the trigger, the tool locks up. So you can use it to break things loose before pulling the trigger, or you can tighten to your clutch setting with the trigger and then let off and finish tightening by hand 👍 it's a real game changer me for...I own 3 now

The second one mentioned, I KNEW was going to be the auto hammer. My father in law had that hammer and I ended up with it. Looking at the battery design, it is VERY similar to Milwaukee M12 batteries. Also, I think it is a useful tool and I still use it.

Years ago I was out hunting Wabbits. I had to cross the local dump yard. In the gri I saw part of an ope end wrench. I kicked it loose only so find half of it. I got my knife out and dug, but there was no other half. It was a CRAFTSMAN! I really thought Sears wouldn't give me another with only half a tool. So I also took my ancient 20' tape measure for the same reason. You couldn't even see the numbers on it. The clerk looked at the tape measure first, then he looked at the wrench. He asked me 'wheres the other half'? I found that at the dump ,I replied. He smiled, nodded his head to the tool racks and said "Well go grab what you need". I got a 20' tape, n a combo 3/4" wrench. That's why I ALWAYS bought CRAFTSMAN. I was so so heartbroken when the local Sears closed.

I have to disagree with one of these. I find the stubby hammers very useful…for my purposes. I have the claw hammer in my little indoor tool bag (so I don’t have to run out to the shop in snow or whatever) and it’s fine for the small jobs my wife wants done; say, hanging a picture. It’s fine and doesn’t take up as much room in my tool bag. I also have the ball peen hammer on my gun repair bench. I don’t want a 2 lb. hammer to tap in, or out, small roll pins and the like. So, for me, they are a viable tool. Just hung a picture which reminded me of this vid. Btw, just before this video was released my cousin gave me item #1, which his wife got for him years ago. Pretty funny.

"Worst" might be most/every corded tool I've bought since becoming a homeowner for the simple reason neither the house nor outbuildings on my property have any exterior outlets. Which meant any/every small task outside resulted in either running an extension cord into the house and leaving a door cracked open - or starting a generator. It's probably the single biggest reason I've largely switched over to cordless tools. On the other hand the single "best"/most surprisingly useful tool so far has been the M12 inflator. I took a chance on one of those after having to reseat a tractor tire that came off the rim a bit over 150ft from the house since laying out all the extension cords and airlines to reach the distance wasn't particularly fun and picking everything up as it was starting to rain was even less so. Sometimes when it figuratively rains it actually rains too -- lol That one impressed me enough I bought a second one for my fiancee (now wife) to keep in her vehicle as at the time we were living ~150 miles apart and frequently driving one way or the other. Haven't gotten a cordless grease gun yet, but after watching this it may move up the priority list.

Doing handyman work...the Stubby Hammer is half funny to pull out and half a great tool for some jobs. For most things you're doing to a new house for the new homeowner, it does the job well. Of course, I have a normal hammer in the car as well as a dead blow and a wooden hammer with oak head that I made on my lathe. The wooden one is great for assembling ikea and other things you don't want to mark up but still get a good whack on.

Aww boy do I have a story for you Back in 2006 I just got out of college and needed a vehicle but I was broke so has the moron 22 year old I got a 1998 Ford ranger that’s been sitting sence 2000 so 6 years but it’s had 2000 miles on it but it sat in the street for all 6 years and I live in a state we’re we get so much snow they use salt on the roads so all the tires dry rotten so bad I needed to replace them but I had no tools so I went to Harbor freight and got the best cheapest tools they had and boy they were amazing i used my dads for everything but his tools were like 20 years old lol so they were trash so these were great until I used them on the ford ranger They broke with in the first time I may or may not have Putin 4 ft pipe on them but then I realized something next time I will use a 3 ft pipe I still haven’t learned I’ve broke more ratchets in my life then my dad ever ownd in his life then. I got a impact rench holy cow that was the best thing I ever got but still was using the silver sockets and boy they worked for about 1 tire and then boom pop sparks whent flying socket bits were flying and still I use silver sockets lol And the tool I thot I would hate is the thing I love the most it’s a stupid hand saw that takes saw zaw blades The worst tool I ever got was a Chicago electric drill it broke in like 20 minutes Thanks for the video I love them

The Bauer 20v drill driver when it first came out. I think it had been out for maybe 4 months. 2 3" drywall screws nearly killed the thing. I could hit the trigger full on speed 2 and could stop the chuck with my bare hand. I took it back to HF and have not bought another Bauer tool since.

Two Harbor Freight tools that I didn't expect much of. First is the Bauer sheet metal shear. The one that looks like a drill motor with a shear attachment. Cuts awesome and just keeps working. Had it for 5 years now and I abuse it constantly. The other is the Pittsburgh Tools 3/8" drive ratchet with extendable handle. Can't break it for nothing. Extend the handle, sleeve it with a 6 foot long cheater bar, hang off it, bounce, whatever. Won't break. I broke a wheel stud that was rusted to the nut by bouncing my 225lbs on the end of that cheater bar but the ratchet is perfect. LOL

I can’t believe it, before the video started the first turkey I thought of was “Black & Decker Auto Wrench!” LOL! What a POS. The little drive belt on mine broke twice. The first time they sent me a new one, the second time it went in the trash. Now I still have a Craftsman auto hammer w/ swivel head, and it works great for me in tight places, so not sure why your guys doesn’t work? Better access in many places than a palm nailer, and I’ve driven a lot of roofing nails with it. Same with the stubby hammer, which I have as a ball peen config hammer as well. Sometimes you just don’t have room to swing. Finally the WORST ripoff tool I bought (which I think you mentioned) was the Craftsman Twin Cutter. $120 I’ll never get back, and like every one of their old tools no longer supported so you can’t buy replacement blades for it. The blades have to be lubed, and you have to be careful they don’t overheat. Nicely built, but I hate how Sears leaves you hanging now. Same with my now dead and useless Craftsman scroll saw. I’ll never buy Craftsman tools again. BTW, I don’t know how many standard 17mm Craftsman sockets I blew up and had replaced back in the day on Mercedes Benz wheel lugs! Thanks for the fun review.

Thats funny bmw uses 17mm lug bolts not lug nuts, one day i broke both my 17mm deep socket 1/2 drive cornwell sockets. One made specially for wheels and one jus a regular 17mm deep socket. How i got it off, my craftsman 17mm. All my craftsman sockets are older american made sockets before the switched to china crap sockets.

@@jacksmith2315 Mine too, at least I think they are. Some are 1960’s Craftsman in Kennedy boxes I inherited from my Dad, but most are from 1997 when I bought a complete set of 1/4”, 3/8”, and 1/2” sockets and ratchets/breaker bars, wrenches, impact sockets & tools, etc. so hopefully I made the cutoff.

Black &Decker also made a battery powered tape measure that was a fail

Battery powered tape measure? Wtf!?! Whats the point of that? Just makes it bigger and heavier than it needs to be. Could only imagine how much of a monster a 30 or 35 ft one would be. Would only be the slightest bit useful ona 16ft for maybe 8 ft if you were too lazy to walk 8ft or on a ladder n couldnt reach 8ft. Anything further n the tape would jus collapse

When i couldnt find batteries for my old C2 drill i bought into the new C3 drill. Within 6 months the battery was dead. Couldnt find just batteries so bought another drill kit thinking having a spare drill would be a good thing. Within a year and a half i had 3 craftsman drills with dead batteries. Got rid of it all along with my ryobis and switched to makita. Wiser and happier now. :)

I used a Craftsman's screwdriver to prop up a manhole cover... That day I found out they don't warranty it if you use it for work. He still gave it to me because I said I'll come back to talk to someone else.

I never owned a mallet until probably 3 months ago. Just rubber mallet, not anything fancy. Now I've got 3. 2 at home and one at work. Realized they're really useful because it's the same effect as a hammer, but without causing a bunch of damage to soft/sensitive surfaces.

Rip sears/craftsman. For me I tool I don't leave home without "Gerber eab lite" folding razor. I have probably bought close to a dozen of these. I abuse them all the time. They are so small. I clip it on my back pocket and you never know it's there but it's always there when you need it. Break a blade no problem. My biggest issue is probably losing them under homes. Definitely try one out. About everyone that I have let use mine now owns one.

received a craftsman tape measure for Christmas. It would extend and retract by pushing a button. Extremely slow worthless. Also received the Craftsman right angle hammer. It worked well to remove knots in your muscles.

Have a buddy that got a Ryobi set for around the house stuff… had a hot glue gun in the kit & he & I were laughing about that when he got it. Most used tool in the kit. He’s fixed kid toys, his wife (& several other ladies) use it on crafts all the time… I’ve actually been thinking about getting Ryobi just for that, the caulk gun, & the soldering iron. (Because if I don’t use them, they’re not that expensive… & if I do, the batteries are cheap.)

I have had many Craftsman 'chisel/drivers' and several crescent/hammers in my life. Favorite tool, my 'real' swiss army knife, never leave home without it.

The most worthless tool is the 12v Bosch bit driver. I thought I was getting an impact, and instead got a chuckless hex head slow mo screwdriver. Their other stuff was great.

I'll give credit to the Harbor Freight Multi-tool; it worked. I used it for years in my remodeling business. But like they said it was deafeningly loud and vibrated like mad. I always wore earplugs so the noise wasn't too big of an issue. The big problem I had with it was the screw that held the blade on it didn't work well at all. I constantly fought to keep the blades clamped tight. But it was dirt cheap, and for someone just getting in to remodeling work it was worth every penny and all the headaches until I could afford something better. That turned out to be DeWalt's cordless multi-tool.

Worst personally would be the Ryobi Forstner bit set. They don't come presharpened. And using a dull forstner bit is a good way to sprain a wrist if it gets caught in the grain. If it's all you can afford then either learn how to sharpen them, or use a two-handed drill. They're nice when sharpened, but that doesn't really count since they don't come that way Best would be ANY cordless fan you can get. I've dried so much food & clothing & floors with mine it's almost hilarious how much a simple FAN pays for itself

Well woodworker I bought a set of 1 2 3 blocks thinking I would only use them occasionally, but I use constantly. So I bought a second set. The most useless tool I have purchased as to be the little hand held 3 inch circular saw

I still have one of those auto hammers LOL I've only used it on joist hanger nails when I had a few to do and didn't want to get out my palm nailer and compressor. It works but it's a very narrow use case.

I have the AUTO WRENCH in my tool box and thats where it always stays! lol (doesnt work tho other than manual)....BUT I didnt buy it...it was returned to a store I worked at and it was defected out as the customer didnt like it...we were allowed to keep them rather than return them to manufacturer...

Damn that craftsman auto hammer i actually still have lol. I scored 1 for free on sears deal so i said why not and its actually useful for me. I will admit i never have to actually drive real nails. I only use screws for my application. I use it strictly for driving aluminium trim nails for molding on overhead doors and it works great for that. I guess thats its limit and i never knew it couldnt do much more lol
