Powerdrive 400 watts inverter from buc-ees CONSTANTLY BEEPS! 

For being a diy geek he is very unaware that the max you will get out pf a cigarette lighter /12v power. In your car is 120 watts lmao hook it directly to your battery with a inline fuse and your done lol

I just bought one that plugs into the cigarette lighter, it came with clips like it would charge a car battery. It had so manh warnings that i came here to see this... beware of smoking around these, ... explosion it says. Also it will drain your battery or ruin your alternator in under an hour... too much gor me! I got the 400w Powerline inverter because the 175w inverter (light flimsy thing), because i wanted to charge my phone and plug in my laptop, it charged the phone really fast, but neither of the plugs worked...both cost the same $58 BestBuy, now this... i really dont know ... turning the powerline back and fond another solution.

Clip it directly to the cars battery so it can draw full amperage . The cig lighter isn't even 1 35amp fuse because the gauge of the small wires feeding it. Or take it apart and remove the beeper because it worked even with the red light on. I've had great usage with a center 750 watt inverter for about 4 years . Plus the USB functions work with the 120v turned off. F. Smith Sr.

I think It’s because you got it plugged in cigarette lighter and not directly to battery

As an electrician I can say the 110watts it is pulling is normal. The car 12v power port has a 10amp fuse, 10 amps = 110w. Use a battery and connect it with the 2nd set of wires it came with. Then you will get the full 400watts

I have powerdrive 1500, it worked fine powering a dorm size fridge for about a year in my big truck and one day started to beep continuously, and now it just beeps as soon as I turn it on, not being used sitting in storage

I run one of these just fine in my truck never had a problem with powerdrive always been good and I've had them in all my trucks

Mine does the same thing I think this brand is garbage. I went back to my old Walmart 200 watt works perfect.

Hours worked fine until we spilled a little bit of Coca-Cola in it LOL now it's beeping all the time even though it's been a few days

You;'ve got a low voltage problem. Check your connections. Dirty lighter socket. Bad cable. I doubt it's an inverter problem.

I had the same problem but now it wont work in the truck unless its connected directly to the battery.

Someone donated a 400 watt to me identical to this in your video. I have 1 hot lead to the device and grounded to the the driver's seat mount and it struggles to not alarm running a Noco genius 5 battery charger more then 1 hour. Now it says it draws 80 watts but psshhh bullshit. I use it for wall hair clippers man scrapping. I e run a 28inch flat screen with my previous centech 750 and a small home surround sound 4.1. th sub would most likely not thump good on the explosions .

Most of the cigar lighter plug uses small AWG WIRES . PEOPLE like does not check the input voltage going to the inverter under load , and you get this.

I thought this video would explain how to stop this? I have exact same 400w PowerDrive in this semi truck. Has worked fine for a year. Tonight just started beeping every minute or so while I slept. Driving me crazy! Nothing has changed to make it beep. 😞 Can’t figure it out.

You're only going to get 12 volts from the cigarette lighter. You need to run straight from the battery and if your alternator is working correctly you should be reading close to 14 volts at least in the 13s. Your problem is not your inverter.

Break the beeper out of it

You probably need a larger gauge cable directly from the battery to the inverter. The longer the distance the thicker the cable should be and order two get a reading of 110

🤣🤣🤣 your comedy bro, lmao....I would say go with a 3000 watt sine wave you can get off Amazon for $250 - $300...you can power an aircraft carrier with that and the sine wave technology will keep the wattage from dropping when you plug it in.

Use a bigger fuze in your breaker...

110 volt at 1amp is the issue when your demanding more amp's the way you have it configured your cigarette lighter cant provide that many amps. If you hooked to the battery you could draw 50 amps or more of 110 volt power but trying to push that many amps at 12v trough a tiny ass wire it would catch fire in about 30 seconds and burn your truck to the ground. This is why the inverter shuts down and beeps your demand is overloading the tiny ass supply your giving it. These inverters are equipped to test this for this reason because idiots will try to change their fan belt before shutting a car off. This prevents this stupidity from these people in the inverter electrical fire world. Got to be smarter then what your working with here.

I have the same problem with the same inverter and it's plugged to the battery...I think they have a defect..

I see a lot of connect to main battery. This may sound stupid but how do you do that?

If its going to beep all the time then I'd want to destroy the inverter myself. Nobody will be able to stand that beeping noise all the time.

What is the fix, and solution for this? You go over the problem but I don't see anyone stating a solution. My power inverter also does this. But I've never used the power inverter before. It did this the first time I tested something. And your inverter is new also. So this idea that there's something wrong with the inverter doesn't hold.

You need more wattage and a direct connection to your cars battery. Duh.
