well I'm impressed - you've managed to fit around 6 episode's worth of content into a 15 minute package ... including the gearbox spiel, changed inlet mani, changed turbo specs and fitted up a whole zorst, and even managed to fit in Roger's shenanigans at the end.

A mate made the intake manifold, a mate powder coated it, mate provided the gearbox, Wayne's mate owns a skid factory and a couple of mates of all ours have the best auto channel on RU-vid!

Al said in a previous show that they basically don't charge their mates for these builds, mates supply the cars and the parts, they do the work, RU-vid pays the bills. Sweet formula! Builds can take years to fit in with Al and Woody's schedule which is the tradeoff.

I love an exhaust dumped at the diff. Why waste money on a tailpipe? Rego authorities must be more lenient north of the border? Although I'm a GM guy I have a lot of respect for the ford 6 right back to the log head days...............

They are pretty good but a lot more complex than the re4 and a lot more difficult to mod.

@@Woodie-xq1ew yes actually it does. There are quite a few privately owned tanks around Oz, notably ex-ADF Centurions. They do have to have their weapons deactivated, and I doubt it's easy to register one for the road (lights, indicators, etc). More achievable for the average Aussie is an armoured car. There was a fairly nice Daimler Ferret listed on Facebook marketplace in my area last year.

They're good if you need a very tight radius or if you're using titanium, other than that it's just wank factor. Donuts are also pretty cheap these days in staino or ally if you need a tight radius.

its crazy how the under side of that wagon looks almost exactly the same as my 1967 Ford Fairlane here in the US! same front suspension as well.

The very early Australian Falcons were somewhat braced RHD versions of the North American Falcons, and gradually got more local content until the 1972 XA model which was the first that did not look like an American model with different front and rear. The floorpan and underbody didn't change much right through to 1987. Assuming your Fairlane shares suspension with the Falcon, it probably is pretty much the same, but the Aussie stuff is probably a little more heavy duty. Because of our junk roads.

@@ryanworkman5229 our falcons where compact version of Fairlane which is " mid-sized " car. The Falcon , Mustang, and Fairlane all had same suspension setup most parts interchanging. the Galaxy was similar as well but just the size of .... well a " GALAXY"! lol

@@everettleonardjr.6973 yep, figured that would be the way, same as us really, the 1967 I think Falcon they boasted about being like a Mustang, which is obviously like a Falcon. We also had Fairlanes, which were just Falcons but 5 or 6 inches longer and revised front and rear, see TSF's turbo 1UZ Fairlane.

"Pie cuts are stupid" - more wise words 👍😎 They do have their place, and uses, but pipe bends are so much more efficient fir gas flow, time, materials, and everything else that's they're easily the best option.

Exactly! Sometimes pie, or lobster, cuts are needed to fine tune the radius and/or fit, but bends are definitely the way to go where possible 👍😎

It's kinda strange how people think all old cars are worth alot of money now. It's only the rare iconic ones and also they can't be replica's either. And something tells me a xd xe wagon isn't worth much and I've literally seen old cars sit on the market for 4 years because they have a ridiculous price tag of 30 or 40 grand when people can buy a new car for that.

Those bolts look awfully short on the engine mount bottom plates. The nyloc nuts didn't have any thread poke? Temporary bolts?

Keeping the exhaust tip under the car isn't really good idea. Gasses won't get out of there as easily as you think, and can get into the cabin, witch may lead to not so good driving experiences and health. I recommend to lead the tip out from under the car.

Pie cuts aren't stupid, they are only stupid when used unnecessarily.. No mandrel can be as tight a radius turn as pie cuts. Even 2 piece doughtnuts aren't..
