Powered subwoofer farting issue

Here is a video of a Boston Acoustics Reflections series RPS1000 powered subwoofer.
There is clearly a problem with it as you can see when I turn up the volume. It was 1 month old when this started to happen but is being repaired under warranty.

Quick update on this: Brought it back to the retailer, they tested it and it's definitely defective. It's being serviced under warranty and I'll post an update if I can find out what happened/went wrong.

Didn't really make much of a smell...turns out it was defective though. Brought it back, had it serviced under warranty then sold it. Now I'm running a DefTech Supercube 6000 and it's great. Best bang for the buck IMO.

i had one do this before. it was a sony. I opened the back and found 2 capacitors where buldged on the amp board. replaced them and now it plays clean. only cost $2 to fix

It's probably an air leak around the rubber faded away or has been peirced by some thing eg pen
