I kind of got the feeling he was doing the bare minimum there. The other truck was cranking up and down that wing and he was like “mmmm ok a little here, maybe a little there, oh better check my email..”

I'm not a technician but this engine seem so powerful that take off Is achived really quickly. At cruise speed it Is very quite.

It’s the application of climb thrust - in this case, climb thrust was higher than takeoff thrust. Flying through clouds doesn’t require any extra thrust. That it occurred just prior to entering the clouds is purely coincidental.

I've never flown in a big jet....only little prop planes. I imagine hearing that engine drone for hours might get annoying, but I wouldn't want to quit hearing it in the sky lol. Good video. 25 to 45 million dollars for that ge90

You only hear the grinding roar during climbing. It quiets down when cruising at altitude.

Wait till you’re lucky enough to catch a ride in a 757 with RR RB211 engines. Last flight from ORD to PVD, cruise speed was 597 mph, at 38,000’. It’s the Corvette of the skies.

I used to until I understood why they do that. They use max thrust (not all the way) just to get up there then they reduce it to cruise. Mentour Pilot explains this really well. Also when getting ready to descend and it feels like they cut out the engines lol.

Thanks! It wasn’t overly cold actually - if I remember it was like high 20s/low 30s (Fahrenheit of course), but definitely cold enough for icing conditions. The decision to de ice wasn’t made till we were almost ready to push. The pilots were prepared for the possibility but when it started raining that’s when they officially decided to deice

I prefer Boeing 777 for long travel,before I prefer 747 only because the plane fly long travel too and because have first class that I never saw,but now i prefer 777 for long travel and the comfort is good 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Boeing is the best airplane company in the world,both plane is good

The 777 is nice. For long haul comfort I think the A380 is unmatched. Incredibly spacious, and the thick fuselage walls make it really quiet

Chad United Airline for using GE90 on their normal 772 and their 772ER. Other airlines, pretty much all of them use RR trent or PW on their 772, 772ER, 773 They only use GE90 on 773ER and 772LR, cuz these are their only option.

Most of United’s 777-200s are powered by PW’s. A minority of them are powered by GE90s - these are the ones that were originally owned by Continental

Do GE90s have a greater circumference than any other jet engine? I wonder because these always look bigger than any other engines on any near-by aircrafts

GE90s are the largest jet engines in the world. The largest version are the ones on the 777-200LR/300ERs which are 128 inches in diameter. The version of the GE90 in this video is 123 in, which is second largest. The next largest is the Trent XWB on the A350 (118 in)

In the context of anti-icing, it’s where the the thrust is increased for a short time to shear off any residual ice off the fan blades

It struck me that the horizon line is perfectly flat, which means that you did not use the fisheye lens that NASA does this and sees through it that the Earth is spherical in shape.

@@CellForce1 I did what I could. The video encoding got corrupted so I had to run it through a repair software. It salvaged it mostly but it obviously wasn’t perfect. I made a note of it at the beginning of the video

the ground staff " god bless them "...but they just walk away ( its cold and wet so we,ll give you a pass ) : in japan they wave goodbye and bow to you, ( how nice ) , as far as baggage ,in usa they throw it like rotten sacks of potatoes, back in japan the baggage handlers " handle " each piece of luggage as if it was their very own with respect...that all makes a difference, talk about difference in cultures,,,its shameful !! bless the pilots,staff, stewardess ,ground crews, mechanics and tower folks ..thank-you from all involved and from all of us passengers , stay safe !!
