Floor had been with the band for 10 months at this point in their world tour. She had settled in to her position. This was, as you can see, a huge audience at one of the biggest metal festivals in the world. The crowd had not seen her before, and didn't know what to expect, but she certainly wowed them and won them over quickly. I am so glad that you are enjoying your introduction to Nightwish, and glad that you will be continuing your journey with them. I, for one, will certainly be following along with you as you discover more and more. And, don't worry about your accent. I'm old and a bit hard of hearing and I didn't have any trouble understanding what you were saying.

Someone told you wrong about this being her first concert. However it was Floor's first tour with the band and none of their songs were written for Floor. The previous singer Anette was pregnant and became extremely ill in September 2012. When the rest of the band still performed without her using two stand in singers, she became mad. During the row that followed the outcome was Anette quit Nightwish. This is known as "the Denver Debacle". A week before they had already called Floor if she would like to stand in for Anette while she would be on maternity leave. Floor would have had months to prepare, but just a week later they called: 'You need to come NOW, Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" This particular concert is in August 2013, 10 months and one week after her first concert for Nightwish. Somewhere around this concert she was offered a permanent position in the band. One suggestion, (and I learned the hard way) always stay with a Nightwish video until the screen goes black. Always seems to be a little gem at the very end. And it's really important for one particular video that you'll probably get to in time. No band like them, best in the world.

Nightwish is a band of world-class musicians, with many styles and sounds! I'm sure you found the comment from Gabriel Bardac...follow his lead for the best experience! You will come to see many performances from this Wacken (pron: VAW-Kehn) 2013 show...its important not only bc it was Floor's 1st tour w the band, but many of the old classics she sang, would not be back on future live setlists. This song has 16 key changes, and you are hearing The London Philharmonic Orchestra playing (recorded and played back thru the Korg)! This song is a worldwide fan favorite and is still played at every concert! *Reactor tip: Your audio sounds pretty good...but if you use headphones or earbuds and run the audio output thru them, the sound we viewers hear is much better.

Floor 1999 studying at the Rock Academy in Tilburg and took singing lessons at the Fontys Conservatory (both now part of the Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten of the private university operator Fontys). Hola de nuevo Cami, gran reacción, impresionante ver tus cambios de expresión mientras vas descubriendo las diferentes maravillas que es capaz de hace Floor con su voz. Ya te lo escribieron en los comentarios de la otra reacción que Floor es la tercera cantante del grupo y que se incorporó a la banda en Octubre de 2012 en plena gira de promoción del álbum Imaginarium, grabado por la anterior cantante. Hay un video en youtube “please learn the setlist in 48 hours” que describe el proceso del cambio de cantante y como fue, también hay una entrevista con Floor en la que explica cómo fue la llamada y como se incorporó a la banda. El DVD del concierto que estás viendo, se planteó como un homenaje a Floor ya que no era miembro oficial de la banda y como cierre del Imaginarium Tour Imagino que Tuomas, que no parece muy tonto, y el resto de la banda, debieron darse cuenta del potencial de esta cantante y fue presentada como miembro oficial de la banda a partir de ese momento. Cuando acabes con las reacciones que te recomienda Gabriel de las actuaciones incluidas en este concierto, yo te aconsejaría que vieras el concierto completo y lo disfrutes al porque es espectacular

Hello @CamiVocalist Nightwish Army Italian Division here. I like your reaction and I think that by now you too are part of the wonderful Nightwish family. Your journey into Nightwish music is only at the beginning and believe me every single song is different from the others and they are not simple songs but real emotions, attending their concerts is something incredible and Nightwish will never disappoint you. Actually this is not the first appearance of Floor together with the band but it is still one of the first especially in Europe. The band is made up of musicians of the highest level and at the time of this concert the members were Tuomas Holopainen (the keyboradist, founder and song writer, really a musical genius, he is the "Metal Mozart" for us), Marko Hietala (bass and ..... you will have a big surprise when you listen to other songs ;-D), Emmpu Vuorinen (guitar), Jukka Nevalainen (drums),Troy Donockley (Uillean pipes, flute, guitar but not on stage in this specific song) and , of course, Floor Jansen, the Metal Goddess, the Queen of Valkyries, the most versatile and wonderful voice currently present in the metal music scene. When their bassist Marko left a few years back (he had some serious issues with todays music industry) it was for Tuomas yet another moment, when he thought that'll be the end of Nightwish. Each member has always been irreplaceable in their own way. And Marko is a magnificent singer aswell. Listen a tracks like "The Islander" (live @ Tampere, Finland), "While your lips are red", "7 Days To The Wolfs", "Master Passion Greed", "High Hopes" (that's a tribute to Pink Floyd) etc......

I always say. Show the young women and girls 10 minutes of Floor :) That is more female empowerment in 10 minutes than any protest march can bring. She controls 80000 people with her words. She is a role model. So show this to the young girls and then they know the are capeable of everything

Dutch (her native tongue), Swedish (she is married to a Swede, Hannes van Dahl,drummer of Sabaton), German, English (most of te songs), Italian, Latin (opera, Oh Mio Babino Caro and Mater Stabat Dolorosa with another very good Dutch singer, Simone Simons), Finnish and....Spanish! Como dato extra de la versatilidad de Floor, te comento que esta canción no fue compuesta para ella, sino para la anterior vocalista, Tarja Turunen; cuya voz era mucho más operística y clásica. Floor es mucho más versátil en el mix de voces, tiene formación clásica pero a la vez su belting es poderoso y muy potente.

I suggest never stopping a Nightwish video before it's over for sure. Otherwise yo will miss remarkable things. In this you were a bit too early. Be patient 🙂

Nicely done Cami and youre English is quite good. Not an easy one to learn. If you like Floors vocal you might have an interest in her solo projects. She has a wide range of genres that she can cover. I certainly feel the she is a master of her instrument in a way most singers cant go. If you do pursue her music outside of Nightwish, you will enjoy her live performances over music video because it is so much more organic than a studio recording. You might consider from 2019 a couple of performances from Beste Zangers - one is a solo of the Lady Gaga song "Shallow" and the other is a duet with Henk Poort doing "Phantom of the Opera". In fact these are the first two performances i heard before i ever heard of Nightwish. But if youre going to stick with Nightwish for awhile I vote for Ever Dream or Nemo. Fuéron de Mexico, Netherlands, Finlandia, El Salvador, Brazil, y muchos paises mas. Floor es la clase de persona que necesita ponerle todos los sentimientos a lo que canta, que tienen que estár ahi. Hello CamiVocalist, since you speak Spanish (or Portuguese) and have gotten to know Floor Jansen a bit now, despite Gabriel's more than complete list of suggestions, I think I can add one more suggestion that you will probably appreciate: Floor Jansen participated solo in 2019 in the Dutch RTV program "Beste Zanger" in which Rolf Sanchez also participated. (also Dutch, but also very well known in Latin America) There she sang live for him his song "Qué Se Siente" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DfYeLUoqw0E.html in Spanish, a language she actually didn't even master. I think this shows an interesting other side of Floor in a much more intimate setting.
