POWERHOUSE VOCALIST - Rapper Reacts to Nerissa Ravencroft "Say My Name" 

The disco sound fits her voice so well.

I think there's a hint off "Soup Demon" and Beetlejuice "Say My Name", invite me in sort of thing going on

I was kinda thinking the theming of the song went with her lore as a demon, in that saying her name gives her power over you. The whole "i need you,/you'll want me" part was her trying to tempt you. This song is almost the inverse of "a picture is worth a thousand words" in that there's so much illustrated by her lyrics and the way she vocalizes them, you nearly get a full picture.

The music itself reminds me of 70's disco or pop, like ABBA's "Dancing Queen" for example. It's a good way to introduce yourself to an audience because her previous covers also introduced her vocal range and pitch. As for the lyrics she's showing that she's no longer caged by her own self doubts and fears, thus the unflouring the wings.

this is definitely a disco song. 4 on the floor, classic disco base, synth... this is a classic disco song, and it just sounds so good. this song would be at home in any nightclub. even the art style is very 1970s.

the sort of theme i guess of the song is her being a demon who sings and by saying her name you give her demonic power which she turns into song which further enraptures you who is listening. she put out a thing on spotify where she talks about the ideas and making of for the song highly recommend if you are interested in the whats and whys. certainly as a jailbird myself its hard to resist her allure. with the fresh news that there is going to be another holoen concert in august with advent making their singing debut no doubt she will sing this one live on stage.

The "Just Lipstick" look happens in real life too. Lipstick highlights the face. When we look or speak to people, many people often are watching the mouth, because the mouth conveys ALOT of social cues. Being that humans are very visual and rely heavily on color to convey a mood, the same can be said with lipstick. The color of lipstick on a bare face easily conveys the sort of mood, emotion, or theme are trying to convey. Even when you look at still photographs of the same model with only a change in lipstick color our experiences often already are creating a story or emotion connected to it. Most of the time I am an only lipstick person. My personality is often said its mild and cold and I'm often mistaken as younger. But a warmer brown color, often makes me look more friendlier. A dark terracotta brown, gives me a more mature look. A gradient pink makes me look more mature and playful. A more plum color often helps in situations where I have to present or take a lead in a project.
